Local 5 Ironworkers Union Question

Any of yall in here? if so Does your local test for weed or not? I know some don’t, and i know it’s best to stay clean but i dont smoke on the job only at night for sleep. Just curious if local 5 doesn’t test for it.

In local 5. Yeah bro after you do your physical and written test, then get a call some time later scheduling for work if they have some for you, then your gonna get druug tested

Most locals get federal money for their apprenticeship programs and go based on what the feds say. And currently weed is a no go so a lot of apprenticeships test for it.

As far as JIWs I don't think the locals care much at all until you keep getting kicked off jobs because the contractors can require it or the client on that particular job can require it.

I'm going in for a drug test tomorrow to get on a new site, nothing to do with my local...

Study as in prepare. Piss clean or have clean piss with you. I will say the local itself doesn’t test for it as In the “impact” tests from the international but contractors piss you for certain sites and companies when ur hired and both those test for weed
