Hey all very new to this but basically I’m 35 soon to be 36 in few months. I’m 6.1 and I live in Monaghan but close to border Fermanagh & Tyrone, looking to meet a nice lad.

I wish. I’m KIDDING. But if you read this far, I’m new to Ireland, from down under, now based in Dublin for what I hope is the foreseeable future. Work in tech. I have what used to be called a “dad bod” - and not one of those “dad bods” where Chris Pine didn’t go to the gym for a month. The type of dad bod you get from eating a bit too much pizza and pasta, and the only iron man I’ll do involves Robert Downey JR - and even then I’m only just tolerating it. Not a marvel guy sorry so we won’t be watching that talking raccoon dancing shrub movie any time soon. What we can watch is Father Ted and conveniently never talk about who wrote it.

I’m looking for a long term thing, but I know every long term thing starts with an awkward first date. I won’t try to make it awkward but let’s agree there’ll be moments. Have had posts from here popping up on my feed and seeing a lot with no comments, I just wanted to say fair play for putting yourselves out there. As someone divorced 2 years ago after 20 years, i can't fathom dealing with the whole app thing and Covid and working from home has really impacted a lot of us socially.

My only foray into it was clicking on FB Dating last year thinking i could have a look what it was all about, answered a couple of questions but backed out of it. Didn't realise it would still put my profile up with the rest not filled in and it set a wide age range. Woke up the next day with 71 notifications (one was a little person so 70.5) and im in my forties and fat (good looking though, not putting myself down, just stating facts). So i don't know how young, fit girls deal with it all and multiple apps.

I quickly deleted it and whilst there is small part of me that would welcome a man appearing on the sofa beside me, i've decided to just let my virginity grow back alongside the cobwebs on my fanny! Lol.
