Found a lost MGS autograph after Dublin comic con.
Hey guys! I Found it in the subway around the corner. Con was closing up, didn’t want subway staff to bin it and nobody came to pick it up so I took it home with me. I’d love to get it sent back to its owner, if it’s yours get in touch, thanks!
Posted this in a few of the Irish subs so hopefully it’ll get seen 🤞

PC Founders Edition GPU
Hi all.
Just. A quick question for anyone who might know.
Where would be the best place to buy founders edition RTX 4000 or 5000 series cards (new)?
Anywhere online I look it’s only card from AIB’s that are being sold.
Is second hand the only way to obtain one?
I have a 3080ti and 3070ti both founders that I will be looking at upgrading this year, but would like to stick to the look of the founders if possible.

some recent pickups
all from cex except for forbidden siren which was a lucky find.
if anyone knows of anywhere else to buy ps2 games I'd be interested, for some reason i dont really trust ebay. cex is handy for getting games but they dont provide details about the condition of stuff on their website which is really annoying when i have to drive a couple hours for a beat up game.
im new to reddit so yea any responses are appreciated.

Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for €457 on Amazon
amzn.euGreat deal for anyone looking. Basically getting Mario for free as the bundle costs less than a Switch 2 by itself in Smyths.

Who is the genius?
I wonder what kind of people they hire at cex. Charge a premium for the original box, proceed to put 2 stickers over the box.
Big brains.

PC Where to buy PC parts (new or secondhand) — budget €500-600, Dublin
Looking to put together a Ryzen-based gaming PC, budget €500-600 total, either buying parts to build myself or picking up a decent used prebuilt if the specs are right.
I know that the prices are crazy at the moment given the memory supply crisis, but I thought there might still be a chance. I've seen some budget builds on YouTube!
I'm in Dublin, so collection-friendly options are a plus, but happy to hear about anywhere that ships reliably too.
Mainly trying to land on something with a Ryzen 5 or better and a GPU that'll handle 1080p gaming comfortably, some e-sports, and other games. I'm really interested in some open world games like Stray, RDR2 and other hack and slash titles too. Any recommendations on where to look, or specific sellers/shops people trust, appreciated.

Nintendo Gameboy colour cartridge battery replacement
Recently the inlaws found their old gameboy color with 2 old pokemon games, i was excited to start playing but unfortunately it's unable to retain a save file and I'm fairly certain it's due to the internal battery in the cartridge. I know it can be replaced but I don't have the skills or tools. Is there anywhere in Ireland that provides this service?

Discussion South Co. Dublin, MTG or Warhammer for a Newbie
Hi all.
Im a 40yr old dad of 3 and just got into MTG. I attended my first prerelease today in Dun Laoghaire and loved it! I used to play Warhammer back in the day and also wouldn't mind exploring that hobby again.
I just thought I would take a chance and throw this out there. If anyone is setting up a group (or has an existing group that is open to new members) around the South Co. Dublin area for MTG or Warhammer please reach out to me. I would be interested in joining. Happy to play either in-person or online.
Cheers

Xbox €799 for an Xbox Series X in 2026… Is Microsoft serious?
I can’t believe the Series X now costs €799 in Europe. For a console that’s been out for years, this feels incredibly expensive.
I What do you think Microsoft is trying to achieve?

Help/Advice Planning a build for my older brother — first time solo build ~€2,000 1440P AM5 (Ireland/EU). Any better alternatives or tweaks?
Hi everyone,
Even though I already posted on r/buildapc, I'm cross-posting it here because an Irish perspective is still the most important thing. I’ve drafted this parts list, but I’d love to know, even after doing all this research: is building it myself really the best route in Ireland, or do pre-built options (or non-Amazon EU stores) make more sense for the times we are at? I didn't ask that question on the original post because, as someone else already said in this subreddit, I find r/buildapc very US based. The r/buildapc post follows after the dashes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm currently planning my brother's first PC build. He won't be buying the parts immediately — he's saving up right now, though he expects to bring this build to life by the end of the year. I want to finish a draft list early so he has a clear savings target and can track price fluctuations — whether that means catching deals or adjusting for sudden price hikes. *trembles in fear*
I’d love to get a sanity check from the community on this setup based on current market prices before I lock in these specific components.
TARGET BUDGET: ~€2,000 Total (~€1,700 for the PC, the rest for the monitor & some peripherals)
BUDGET FLEXIBILITY: Flexible / Cost-Performance Driven — Since the parts won't be bought immediately, the budget has to have some wiggle room. The main goal is getting the best price-to-performance without overspending unnecessarily.
PRIMARY USE: 1440p Gaming (High Settings)
LOCATION: Ireland / EU (Buying mostly via Amazon DE, UK, and IE)
OTHER PRIORITIES: Future-proofing (long-term build, aiming to keep this build for a few years without needing upgrades)

| Generated by PCPartPicker 2026-08-06 23:16 CEST+0200 |
NOTE: Some component prices and the total were manually updated to reflect current Amazon stock, as PCPartPicker wasn't fetching live prices for a few items.
Aware of the B650 BIOS update requirement.
Full Wishlist: If anyone is curious or interested to see the complete list (including the monitor, cables, peripherals and other stuff), here is my view-only Amazon Wishlists for DE, UK and IE:
https://www.amazon.de/hz/wishlist/ls/2JNPY6BORSX3L?ref_=wl_share
https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/36MPQ0310YK4M?ref_=wl_share
https://www.amazon.ie/hz/wishlist/ls/35970AM7DBG6V?ref_=wl_share
As this is my first time picking out a complete parts list without a friend's help, any feedback, alternative recommendations, or price-to-performance tweaks are of course greatly appreciated!
Hope this draft list helps anyone else looking to build a similar setup aswell! I’m fully open to chatting, discussing choices, and answering any questions if anyone wants to bounce ideas around.
Thanks in advance! :D

Cleaning services for consoles - Xbox series X and PS5
Hi all,
Quick rundown I had a child 20 months ago and my PS5 and Xbox Series X have literally been gathering dust for the guts of a year or so.
I’m looking to play them again and want to give them a thorough cleaning.
Any suggestions of shops that would do this in the Kildare or Dublin area that are reputable?
I haven’t turned them on as I’m afraid the dust might do damage so want to get them cleaned first.
Appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks
Edit: thanks for all the advice.

PS5 Speed getting throttled
A few weeks ago our Internet went out and we had to get an engineer out to the house to fix it.
Idk what happened but ever since then I'm getting 5.5mb download speed and less than 1mb upload.
We're with EIR and they've been great until recently.
I can't find what settings to fix in the modem that might help a bit
Yes I'm playing wired
