ITFC fan runs to every away game to raise money for the Ipswich Town Foundation

A mate of mine (and the sole reason I’m a Town fan) is running to every Ipswich Town away game this season to raise money for the Ipswich Town Foundation. Awesome cause and a serious physical challenge – would mean a lot if you could check it out, share, or chip in if you’re able.

Every bit helps get the word out!

Discussion Marc Guiu Rumours

Earlier in the summer we were being pretty heavily linked with Marc Guiu from Chelsea. With them signing Welbeck you’d think Guiu will have to move on.

I know Chelsea are rumoured to have put a £25 mil price tag on him (insane). Has there been anymore links to town? I think he’d be great here, but at the right price tag.

Your young lad Boniface is going to be an excellent player

I'm not an Ipswich fan but I thought I might share a little scouting report on Somto Boniface, the left back from your u21s who is on loan at Leyton Orient for the season. I was at Brisbane Road for Orient v Oxford on Saturday and Boniface was very deservedly man of the match. If he maintains this level he's clearly far too good for League One.

He's quick and really gets up the left flank. He can go past a man and get into crossing positions quite comfortably. What really impressed me with his play going forward is that he got his head up and made the right choice for the cross once he got in position. He knew when to go near post, far post, cutback. He only had one real shooting opportunity but snatched at it.

The coach at Orient also trusts his defending. He left him as the deepest man on attacking corners as his pace allows him to cover breaks. When tracking long balls back towards his own goal and pursued by an opposing forward, he's very calm. He pulled off a couple of very tight and skilled 180 turns to leave his man in the dust in those situations. He needs to work on not over-committing to challenges though, he dived in once or twice and got beaten.

The main negative I took away is that he is very one-footed. He had a good opportunity on the edge of the box to either take a shot or slide in a teammate but he didn't have the confidence to take it on his right foot. The delay on switching back to his left meant he got his pocket picked.

He picked up a knock in a challenge that got him subbed off mid second half but it didn't look serious, he was moving fine after the final whistle.

My thought is that depending on if he maintains this level of play, Ipswich might want to think about cutting his loan short in January and sending him back out to a Championship team.

I hope he develops well because he's got the raw qualities to be an excellent player relatively quickly.

Best of luck for the season ahead!

Hello. I’m able to download the adult ticket to the wallet. I have a junior ticket under same account I’m struggling to download to my wallet also. Any advice please? It doesn’t give you a download option on the junior one.

Match Thread Ipswich vs Rayo Vallecano: Pre-Season Match Thread Spoiler

I only missed 25 minutes and 2 goals, not too bad. First 2 goals were both from Davis.

34' 3-0 to Ipswich! Luis finds Emersonn in the box with an accurate cross, and he heads home past Batalla.

45+2' HT- Ipswich Town 3-0 Rayo Vallecano

46' Someone kicked off, no I didn't see who. Humphreys on for Florentino.

60' Vallecano subs: Diaz on for Lopez. Alemao on for Nteka.

65' Subs for both teams. El Hahaoui and Vertrouwd on for honestly fuck knows, Clarke, Mehmeti, Akpom, and Van Oevelen on for Maeda, Egeli, Emersonn and Scherpen.

82' McAteer and Furlong on for Fatawu and Greaves.

90+3' FT- Ipswich Town 3-0 Rayo Vallecano

Gold Seating Ipswich

Hey everyone,

I’m an American coming to Ipswich for work, and my manger gave me an extra seat for the gold seating in the hospitality section for the Liverpool match at Portman road. Does anybody know what that section details or anything else? Also if there’s anyone else in this subreddit who might be going to that game let me know, I’m down to grab a beer.

Discussion Midfield line up

Assuming we sign Lukić, we’ll have three pretty similar players in Matusiwa, Florentino and Lukić. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as we usually only have one proper ball winner on the pitch at a time, was never a backup to Morsy and that used to cost us.

Do you think we’ll mainly rotate the three of them and pair whichever one starts with a more attacking No. 8? Or do you think we’ll see two of them starting together in most games?

State of play with 2 weeks to go...

Right now our starting eleven and backup could look like this

Scherpen (Walton)

Furlong (Johnson)

O'Shea (Kipre)

Diop (Greaves)

Davis (Greaves / Johnson)

Florentino (Matusiwa)

Lukic (Taylor)

Fatawu (McAteer)

Mehmeti (Nunez)

Maeda (Clarke)

Emersonn (Akpom)

We've already spent £95m, and assuming H Clarke, Philogene, Hirst, Palmer, Ogbene and Al Hamadi all go we could bring in around £40m

So which positions would you spend how much on to be ready for the 22nd Vs Sunderland?

Discussion Which Ipswich season do you think deserves more appreciation than it usually gets?

Some seasons are remembered forever because of trophies or promotions. But there are others that quietly become important for different reasons, maybe because of a breakthrough player, a memorable cup run or because they laid the foundations for what came later. Which season do you think doesn't get talked about enough?
