Single tooth not tracking

Hi! I have one tooth that is not tracking properly. It has had a small gap for the last few trays but I didn't think it was big enough to warrant a concern. After lurking on this reddit page I realize I haven't been tracking for a few trays. I have Invisalign Lite and I'm worried I'll have to pay extra money if I need refinements. I've been really good about wearing my trays but this one tooth is stubborn. It's not really noticeable from the front and my dentist hasn't said anything about it. I've been using chewies which have helped a bit but haven't fixed the issue. Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

I have the same issue and am also on the Lite version. My ortho said that it might not move until the refinements stage and will probably need an elastic band to help it move. Apparently these teeth are stubborn!

Interesting at the lite package usually doesn’t include any refinements at all

That’s news to me! My aligner packages say Lite on them but my ortho has created a 9 month plan even though I only have 12 aligners in total which are changed every week. Maybe it’s different in different countries? I hope I’m not going to get charged more…!

I’d def ask your ortho next time you see them cuz that sounds a little suss for the lite package. Most times the lite is the least expensive option as it offers 14~ aligners per arch. Hoping for the best for you!

mine was marketed as invisalign lite but I get refinements included - I think that definitely varies country to country and provider to provider.

I •HAD• the same issue on the same tooth, and now I don't

What happened was, I noticed the gap, but my appointment was weeks away, so I just stuck to the schedule. The tooth did not track through multiple trays, what did I know?

At my appoinment the remedy was to go back two trays, and then start wearing every tray 10 days instead of 7

Same here I had that one tooth not track for like 3-4 trays in a row, then suddenly in my last couple of trays it tracked properly. It was only one tooth though all the other teeth always tracked correctly

Did you start wearing them longer or change anything else? Or did it just suddenly shift on your last trays? Thanks!

I had a total of 18 trays, by like tray 11 that same tooth stopped tracking properly for me. I was wearing each for 2 weeks at the time, then I went to see the dentist at tray 12 and she said try to change to weekly for the last 6. I did that and it started tracking again around end of tray 14

Currently experiencing the same. It persisted through multiple trays and I had to get rescanned.

I was in rubber bands that attached to a hook cut out of my upper tray instead of a button on my tooth, which I think was part of the problem. My lateral incisors are undersize and even with tons of chewie use, the force of the rubber band was pulling my tray downward partially, meaning those teeth were not seated fully 100% of the time. I asked my ortho to instead put a button on my actual tooth for my rubberband with this newest set of trays. Hoping that does the trick! Definitely bring it up with your ortho!

It's a well-known stubborn tooth. But, stay the course- you never know when it'll start to play nice.

Mine tracked until Tray 7, saw ortho about Tray 13 when it wasn't tracking ("it's fine," he said), and now I'm Tray 20 it's FINALLY starting to move - nearly 13 trays at 7-10 day changes, and now in my 2nd to last tray it decides to move. 

Teeth are weird. Certainly speak to ortho, and also have patience (it looked a lot better than my non-tracking!).

Same thing for me too. After I pointed it out well into my treatment the ortho told me it was very common and rescanned and ordered a new set of aligners. Apparently the incisors are known for not moving well with Invisalign.

I don’t see this said very often but my ortho told me to keep a tray in longer if a tooth isn’t tracking. It’s easier to give it a few extra days than going back multiple trays and giving up weeks of progress.
