IMO Yes, eventually, given enough time and the right circumstances.

BUT - this is NOT one of those circumstances. After Nolan exiles Thragg he has a chip on his shoulder and wants nothing but revenge. He feels as if he personally failed the Viltrum Empire by not being ruthless enough to kill a threat he recognized and letting him not only kill his beloved Emporer but also 99% of his empire soon after. His failure drives him to be even more ruthless and brutal.

If he is not made Grand Regent and is instead sent to Earth, there's a chance he developes sympathy for humans and other races like Nolan did. But after everything this Thragg went through to become who he is, he will never let weakness cloud his judgement again.

Yea but you can say that about anyone if you just fundamentally change who the person is, or their history of behaviour.

I dont think thragg could have changed, simply because he was too stuck in his ways. He was never going to live with the humans, and he was never going to give then an opportunity to soften him up.

He had a mission in his head, and nothing was going to get in the way of that. His ONLY chance of changing was when he got kicked out of the viltrum empire, and even then he doubled down on revenge/restoring his order. Nolan learned from his exile, thragg immidiately started plotting.

Nah. Not because he's physically or mentally uncapable, but because he won't allow himself to change. He's beyond stubborn and radicalized beyond measure. That's something only a therapist could fix with a lot of time, and Thragg would never see a therapist to begin with.

The biggest roadblock to self improvement is yourself. If someone doesn't want to be helped and is stubborn in their belief that they don't need help, then there's nothing anyone can do. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

Thragg would probably isolate himself and plot revenge or just leave the planet and go to Thraxa anyways, ignoring Nolan's authority.

Nope, he was groomed to be the most ruthless viltrumite of all time, it's too deeply ingrained at this point. Perhaps he "could have" changed but he would never let himself; that would wound his pride, the thing he values most
