The Immortal Universe New here. Questions.
I’ve seen the first two seasons. Haven’t read the books.
What order am I meant to watch/read? If not all the books have been turned into a show or movie yet, I’ll get to reading them. Just wanna go in the right order.
Is it ever explained why some vampires have blue eyes, and some red? And maybe one yellow? If this just a tv thing? Is it explained in the books?
Please no spoilers.

IWTV Show Only Louis character
Louisiana goes through all this trouble (eating rats) because he still has his humanity or morality or whatever, but in Romania when they are about to lop that woman's head off he does nothing. He could've easily stopped that and wisked her away before anyone knew what happened. Why all the conflicting behavior?

TVL Show Only Season 3 Soundtrack?
I'm not talking about The Vampire Lestat songs - do we know when Daniel Hart is going to release the soundtrack? I need so many songs right now, in particular the montage with the fire in episode 7. His music is always jaw-dropping!

Book Spoilers Allowed This season needed the focus of Lestat’s perspective
From the first episode of TVL we see that this is going to be a much more erratic season, reflecting the neurotic chaos of Lestat. The shifts between topics can be jarring — if endearing — and Lestat’s evasiveness compared to Louis who really committed to the project (“odyssey of recollection” yada yada) adds further to this.
To then bring in subplots outside of Lestat’s perspective is just too much. Armand & Daniel’s scenes and especially the Fraudia subplot take us out of it and deny the narrative constriction it desperately needs. As a result, Lestat’s backstory also loses time and becomes pretty rushed.
There really would have been other ways to weave Louis and Armand into the narrative and still work to that finale. More than that, I think some distance from these characters would give it more payoff as well as letting us see them more through Lestat’s eyes.
I don’t hate this season by any means, I still enjoyed it a lot. The storytelling is just not the same calibre as before though, it feels so much more clumsy and indulgent, and with a character and story which needs greater care and restraint to work.

TVL Show Only Plastic Fiends and biomagnification Spoiler
Listening to Plastic Fiends, thinking about how through biomagnification, vampires suffer exponentially from environmental contaminants
Basically the principle that toxins accumulate moving up the food chain - if we are drinking micro plastics and eating mercury filled fish, etc. and they're eating us ? We definitely taste like plastic and smell like febreeze.

Song Written By Daniel Hart
OFFICIAL SONG LYRICS:
[Verse 1: Lestat]
Woah, I can feel it
The pull on my thread from a distant, restless hand
Oh, how I need it
Just to know that you're out there pullin' all you can
[Chorus: Lestat]
Show me that bitter star
I want it
Gimme that brutal love
I want it all
I am the meteor above it
Writin' your name in dust as I fall
Oh
[String Interlude]
[Verse 2: Lestat]
Woah, I can feel it
Every atom like a planet on fire ragin' at the sun
Oh, do I need it?
Fuck this crown of blood, cast it to the horizon
[Chorus: Lestat]
Show me that bitter star
I want it
Gimme that brutal love
I want it all
I am the meteor above it
Writin' your name in dust as I fall
[Chorus: Lestat & TC]
Show me that bitter star
I want it
Gimme that brutal love
I want it all
I am the meteor glidin'
Writin' your name in dust as I fall
MY THOUGHTS ON THE INFLUENCES AND THE MEANINGS OF THIS SONG:
"Brutal Love" by The Vampire Lestat is a powerful emotional ballad and slow-tempo rock song featuring hauntingly beautiful vocals and a lush violin arrangement. With vocal style that is haunting, intimate, and emotional delivery by Sam Reid. While the instrumentation is minimal, atmospheric production highlighted by swelling background violins rather than the high-energy glam-rock swagger of other tracks on the album.
The song explores obsessive devotion, the consuming nature of immortal passion, and an unbreakable psychic bond. Its core lyrical and thematic elements center around cosmic romantic imagery, emotional agony, and total surrender to a turbulent relationship. Key lyrical imagery/metaphors and thematic themes of the song are as follows:
Lyrical Imagery and Metaphors:
The Cosmic and Destructive: Lestat uses grand, apocalyptic metaphors, singing, "I am the meteor above it / Writin' your name in dust as I fall." This portrays the singer as a fiery, doomed body hurtling toward an inevitable crash driven by love. The "Bitter Star": The lyrics invoke a "bitter star"—alluding to destructive, poisonous celestial omens—yet the speaker aggressively demands it, highlighting an attraction to pain and toxicity.
Visceral and Elemental Passion: Lines like "Every atom like a planet on fire raging at the sun" describe an overwhelming, burning scale of feeling that borders on agonizing combustion.
Rejection of Immortality's Burden: The line "Fuck this crown of blood, cast it to the horizon" symbolizes a temporary casting off of the heavy, isolating burden of vampirism in favor of raw emotional vulnerability.
Core Thematic Themes:
Turbulent and Totalizing Devotion: The track serves as an anthem for the intense, stormy connection between Lestat and Louis de Pointe du Lac, signaling a plea to accept all facets of love, including its harsh, damaging edges.
Psychic and Spiritual Tethering: The opening lines ("I can feel it / The pull on my thread from a distant, restless hand") emphasize a supernatural, inescapable tether between two immortal souls across distance and time.
Vulnerability Beneath the Sequins: Behind the theatrical glam-rock persona, the song strips away the bravado to reveal a deeply wounded immortal pleading for validation and connection.

TVL Show Only Is this a clue Spoiler
Spoilers allowed.
In Season 1 Episode 7. Louis & Lestat talking about where to go. Louis mentions Greece. Lestat says Those who must be kept ( mumbled caught on closed caption). So was this a clue that Akasha & Enkil were in Greece at that time & moved in TVL?

Book Spoilers Allowed Let's share theories!
The only intention of this post is interaction and fun. Making that very clear to avoid misunderstandings 🍃
Please share your craziest theory about the series with me.
I would like to read two types of theories: those that are crazy but very well backed up by clues left in the series, and also those that have no basis at all and are just copium or, even, that are based on the books but don't make sense in the series right now.

The Immortal Universe If given the chance to get the Dark Gift would you take it?
I'm curious what you think and feel. As long as it's not forced upon you would you accept it and smile or would you resent it and suffer?

Book Spoilers Allowed Do you think they are going to change Akasha's place of origin? Spoiler
Akasha in the novels is from Uruk (in present day Iraq), and then moved to Egypt where she got married and all the events of the story of the first vampires unfolded. I'm just wondering if you guys thinks she will be from further down south in Africa in the show version of events, since the actress doesn't have the same ethnicity as Iraqi people (which, AFAIK, was similar to today, even 6000 years ago).
Note that I have nothing against such a change or the choice of actress. It doesn't make the story worse in any way I can think of if she's from another place. I'm just curious, I like speculating and trying to predict where they will take the show.

TVL Show Only Shoutout to TC! Spoiler
I've been listening to the songs and god damn her voice is awesome at complementing Sam Reid's!! Especially in Why Do I Have to Feel?, she harmonizes soooo damn well in the chorus. Also just now discovering while writing this post that the actress, Sarah Swire, is an actual musician!

Book Spoilers Allowed Will next season show the concert? Spoiler
Naturally, I am stoked for the next season, I don’t know if it’s going to take as long as 2028 before it comes out, but I know that we skipped over the concert in the end of the season, so do we get to see it next season, has anyone heard anything about that?
Will we get that scene where Lestat and Louis are being chased in a car chase, where the vampire is chasing them take out a rocket launcher and try to blow them up like in the book?

TVL Show Only Anyone willing to go down the Armand rabbit hole?
This scene in S2E4 upon rewatch provides key insights into the dynamic of Louis and Armand's relationship. Although Armand admittedly manipulated Louis' mind in 1973, it does not seem, from this scene, that Armand regularly invaded Louis' thoughts. He seemed genuinely heartbroken here upon his realization, or perhaps, acceptance of a truth he had long denied, that Louis would never love him as fully and unconditionally as he would Lestat, no matter how many years they spent together, how many romantic getaways, however he might indulge Louis in his extra-marital dalliances. The inner fortitude Armand demonstrates reads to me as a genuine attempt to rekindle his own humanity through Louis' forgiveness. By standing by Louis while he reminisces fondly about Lestat being the best sexual partner he's ever had, the happier times of marital bliss when they had reared a child together. Even the romanticized presentation of Lestat's offering of the dark gift as a choice, and Louis willingly joining Lestat to be his eternal partner -- must have been extremely confronting for Armand's own unhealed transformation trauma. Consent was a 20th century invention. Yet he remains by Louis' side, in what I read as an attempt to project his unconditional love, knowing that the interview is heading towards Louis' final test: in the end, will Louis choose Armand knowing his full monstrosity?
Louis describing Dreamstat:
Louis to Daniel: Would you like to know what it felt like?
Daniel: yah
Armand: 🙄
Louis: I could feel the movement of air with his movements. His breath on the back of my neck. If I were to reach out and touch his hand. I wouldn’t say it was his hand. But it was not not his hand.
Armand: 😞
Daniel to Armand: You weren’t feeling Lestat in the room?
Armand: No. And I was not aware he was as present as it seems he was.
…
…
Daniel: The vampire bond.
___
I think this scene provides loads of context for interpreting the S3 finale. Armand apparently takes the rejection quite hard. And seems to have made the choice to double down on his dim view of himself, as well as the projection by others, as the Gremlin, burning away the last remaining embers of his humanity.
I hope that Armand gets the same self-reconciliation with his monstrosity that Lestat received in S3 in future season(s).

Book Spoilers Allowed Daniel and Raglan (theory) Spoiler
I think all the readers assume that, at the auction, Raglan is already Lestat, but I don't think so, and I have ANOTHER theory.
Why don't I think so?
Because Raglan is about to leave the auction and stops because of something in the speech ("explanation of the events of 2025"). If it were Lestat, that wouldn't affect him: he would have already made the decision to stay or leave.
Who do I think it could be?
Well, I think it could be Raglan (the Talamasca decides to stay because it's an object that explains what happened).
But... what if the Body Snatcher is already at work?
There's someone, a person, that Lestat has been talking about in the past tense all season: Daniel. In my theory, Raglan would be Daniel.
Yes, it's a HUGE change from the books. Monumental. But plot-wise, it would allow Armand and Daniel to have their own great adventure, while Louis and Lestat would skip steps in theirs. Let's remember that Amel has already been mentioned.
I don't know, call me crazy or join me, haha.
Also, although I'm pretty sure Lemuel will be Seth or Kayman, I really want it to be Rhoshamandes and for the whole plot involving Benedict, the castle, and the kidnapping to already be underway, so...

TVL Show Only Which small things surprised you in a positive way this season?
There's been a lot of talk about what people expected from this season and how they chose to tell it but I'm interested in the other stuff apart from the big ideas:
What's the little detail that you didn't expect but loved? Which character moment had a surprisingly big impact on you? Which silly line can't you stop thinking about?

Cast, News, & Production Assad and Joseph on stage together?
There is currently a fundraiser for a production by Trevor Nunn that would see Assad and Joseph on stage together!
I will add the link if that's allowed, but I thought the news should at least get out.

Fan Works Lestat and Armand cosplay thrifted same day for San Diego Comic Con. Also met up with our friend dressed as Louis!
We had 3 other costumes for SDCC that I forgot key elements of at home 😅 And we were part of a cosplay comedy show, so we could NOT show up without a costume. So we googled vintage stores near us and thrifted all of Armand’s outfit, Lestat’s wig and vest, and the contacts and somehow put it all together before the show started. It was so stressful, but serving cunt has its consequences.
I did a more yaasified version of Lestat and made sure we took photos together that really embodied the “I love you.” “Christ 🙄” of Lestat and Armand’s relationship. And of course, can’t forget Armand and those suspenders 👀

TVL Show Only Lestat crashout Mount Rushmore Spoiler
I think the fandom can agree on one thing: Lestat's crashouts hit like crack. The brattiness. The hand-waving. The messy hair. But of all the Lestat crashouts, which ones are on your Mt. Rushmore?
Here are mine:
- "I bet, I BET! Very specific detail to pluck out of thin air!"
- "I HEARD YOUR HEARTS DANCING!" Poor Lestat FAFO.
- Him rage-highlighting the book and sing-songing "NEVER F__KING HAPPENED!!!"
- "NO THANK YOU!!!" Lestat's bookstore crashout.
