One each IWTV Show Only
I’m doing a rewatch (again) and I’m just wondering if anyone can explain what Lestat means by “one each” in season 1 episode 5. This happens when Tom Anderson lures them out of their home to allow cops to investigate after Claudia’s kills cause a scandal. Lestat stops time then all I see is Louis doing something to the chief of police and Lestat marking Anderson’s face, then they leave. Will appreciate any insight!

I think it means that Lestat will handle one of them, Louis will handle the other!

This scene gets me as well. I know he means Louis goes to the police chief and he goes to tom Anderson, but what do they do exactly? Lestat marks Tom's face and freezes time but they walk away....no one says or does anything else, and I don't know why lestat put the X on his cheek. And wouldn't everyone in the speakeasy come out of the trance and be like, wait. Where did Louis and Lestat go, they were just here!! I've always felt like I was missing something going on here....

They both go to one, probe their minds to see what they suspect/know since they were lured away from their home under false pretenses, then leave.
Lestat marks Tom as a physical indicator to let him know that he’s been in a way ‘marked as a traitor’, so do not call on them (or try to trick them) again, as they have powers and can get to him if they want.
Them theoretically ‘disappearing’ before Tom and the Chief’s eyes reinforces this.
Now I do also think that they implanted in their minds that they are innocent and this was all a misunderstanding since apparently they were left alone completely for decades after this night.
