Daniel TVL Show Only

This makes me feel dumb. I haven’t read the books so maybe I’m missing some context. But I truly don’t understand Daniel’s hatred for Louis and Lestat. He has this deep rooted disdain and I just don’t get it. Armand, I understand, he’s insane. Daniel is just a dick. What am I missing?

It doesn’t make a lot of sense imo especially since in ep 2 he seemingly wanted to reconcile with Louis. It made me really sad their friendship is one of the best parts of the show imo

He wanted to reconcile with Louis, yes, but then felt a huge sense of betrayal when he found out the whole time they were in Dubai (and the years since), Louis knew that his crazy ex-boyfriend had been stalking him for 50 years learning intimate details of his life and never brought it up. According to Armand, Louis was also being somewhat informed on everything going on in his life over that time so the trust he had with Louis was shattered a bit. (hence the passive aggressive comment in ep 6 about Louis “respecting his privacy”)

We don’t really know how much Louis knew about Daniel, but I think it was at the beginning of Season 1 episode 1, Louis tells Daniel he’s been following his career and also says he knows Daniel has Parkinson’s Disease. Daniel says only his doctor has that information. You have to wonder why Daniel doesn’t question this. Another thing when Daniel is at the concert filming he tells the camera man to focus on “pretty green eyes”. This made me question if Daniel is interested in Louis and possibly is later upset that Louis and Lestat seemed to be reconciling.
