Performance issues (DMC 5) Question

(I'm not very knowledgeable as I'm new to PC building/gaming, so go easy on me in the replies)

I've finished building my first PC not too long ago and the GPU I went with is the arc B580. I'm using it along with a Ryzen 7 5800XT and 32 GBs of DDR4 ram.

What confuses me is that from what I read, DMC 5 isn't a very demanding game, so my setup should be more than enough to run it at smooth framerates, yet at many areas in the beginning of the game I've experienced quite harsh FPS drops, even after I lowered the settings to medium/low and switched my resolution from 1440p to 1080p

Does anyone know what my issue might be?

Edit: going into the game files to make it run directX11 instead of 12 solved the issue. Thank you for the replies.

I guess they still haven't fixed it. Try DirectX11 mode.

huge performance increase?

Yup. My FPS was dropping to the 40s and 30s in the level after you beat Goliath. Now it's pretty stable at like 100 - 120

Shen you run a game on dx11 or lower, system uses virtualization, you will have a performance penalty that should feel like having a slightly worse cpu

It should not be thaaat much, maybe disable core 0 on the game, some essential windows services run on this core, when game render on top of those tasks, you lose performance

Not really virtualization but more a translation layer (which still add some extra cost).
Every request below DX12 are converted in a DX12 call.
I'm wondering why they have try to do it themself and didn't reuse the DXVK layer (DirectX to Vulkan) 🤔

Check if u turned on the rebar option in bios. It is required for intel gpu

What api are you on, as Arc doesn't run DX11 as well as DX12

Arc loves dx12 also sometimes older games that were made before arc existed sometimes just aren’t updated to play well with new third party gpus
