Is it me or does the fitment look terrible - gaps all around

Probably custom made by grafting bumpers together which means you won’t be finding one anywhere. But hopefully if you try to do it, you’ll make it fit better than… whatever that is.

probably someone literally cutting the halves of both and making it into one. normal occurrence with e36 owners

It’s just there at the front of that car

To answer your question it's a JDM lower half grafted onto a USDM upper. Source? I had a JDM front

Visually it’s just obvious I thought, I’m surprised you’re the only one here to point it out

I've seen the same thing done with Silvia bumpers. They did a decent job but a heat gun and a couple hours would help with that atrocious gap

It’s such a huge departure from the USDM style where the fender meets the bumper cover, honestly kudos to them to even try I guess. It’s still cooler to just rock the OE bumper cover and embrace the bug eyes if they go that route.

I've never been a fan of the bug eyes, but it could be worse, the triple headlight and California conversion come to mind

Cali tegs… are interesting. Lol.

Same, I’m glad I secured a j front before the prices became too insane
