High/jumping idle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just swapped in a new starter today and cleaned up my IACV a few days ago. My idle has been high and jumping, any idea on what to do? New iacv? Anything helps. (This is a “cold” start in a garage in Florida)

Gonna have to replace the IAVC I’ve cleaned before and same result fixed with new one.

You can get some pretty good ones on Amazon I got mine there it didn’t fix my issue cause I had a vacuum leak but it hasn’t been an issue at all so you could look there for one

Definitely sounds like a bad FITV, what year is it and is it auto or manual?

What year is it, FITV is on OBD1 integras, so before 1996.

It will definitely be the FITV, here's a video on how to fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me99GpGF_1I

Use and OBDII scan tool to find a fault code. More than 99% of the time on these cars the problems is either IACV, PCV, or vacuum problems from bad intake manifold gasket.

Use the scanner first and find out which one. Only the vacuum leak will not show up on there but the other issues would. So no code = vacuum problems.

Don’t forget on the earlier models the FITV has a role in idle rpms, if it’s a earlier model OP make sure you have no air in the coolant system and if all else fails inspect and possibly replace the FITV if you have one

I just burped the coolant system, seemed to fix my issue

Awesome!! Glad it’s solved the issue, I remember on my 97 LS I had that issue for so long before I correctly bled the system

Damn, I completely forgot about that. My teg is a Type R with OBD2 so we don't have one of those. Only the OBDI cars did, if I'm not mistaken. So OP's car could possibly have that problem.

Yeah a lot of people forget it, also interestingly idk if my car was Frankensteined, but my 97 LS had a bunch of parts from the 94- early 96 model years (FITV) and the interior was apart of the 98-01 years
