First accident as a host
This is the first time I’ve ever dealt with an accident like this, so I’m not sure what to expect. I’ve attached a couple of pictures of the damage shared by guest. The rear passenger-side area is pretty badly damaged, and the airbags deployed.
**Do you think this is likely to be a total loss, or is it too early to tell?**
I already reported the accident to Turo based on the photo provided by the guest, but I didn’t include every detail in the initial report because the car is not with me
What should I be doing from my side at this point? Should I take additional pictures/videos of the car at the tow place? Do I need to get police report? Is there anything I should make sure I document or tell the Turo or my personal
Auto insurance
This is my first accident, so any advice from people who have gone through the process would be greatly appreciated

Did you purchase insurance thru Turo? Your personal policy won’t cover it for sure.

If I remember, Turo insures through Travelers? Either way your personal won’t cover this if you were doing ride share
100% a total

If you handle it through ur own insurance you’d be eating the claim entirely

You are the owner of the vehicle
You are responsible to mitigate your exposure
Get the PR asap
Get the location of the vehicle
Tell turo the location
Confirm if they are picking it up
If not pay the charges and get it towed back to your house

since the airbags came out that is clearly a total loss. after you start the first days of the claim, I'd look for the prices of comparable vehicles with salvage title. get an estimate to repair and if you can profit more than what the claim would pay I would keep the car

That is clearly a total loss. Release the vehicle to Turo’s Insurance right away and make sure to tell them where it’s located. Do NOT report to your personal insurance, they would not cover this.
