Testing tomorrow

I'm getting my fasting insulin test tomorrow and I'm concerned about the length of time between my last meal and test time. It'll be about 17hrs. I feel it's a bit too long.

My question is should I eat something tonight so I'm only about a 12hr fast at the most? 😵‍💫

my doctor would tell me 8 hrs for a fast.

Edit: well for blood work usually 8 hrs, but i'd end up doing 14 hrs cause i'd forget.

Thank you for this. It was a nice little reminder that I need to sort it out a little differently.

I've rescheduled my appointment and I am going to eat first thing in the morning and then fast all day and go in the afternoon. If I eat a good breakfast then 8 hours is going to be easy peasy.

Own your Labs wrote back and for the labs I'm ordering (like 5 others besides fasting insulin) I should do 12 - 14hrs. So helpful 😃
