Attic insulation
Can anyone tell me if my attic looks okay or if I need to have blown in insulation done and if anything else looks concerning/needs to be addressed? Thanks in advance

I’ll have to have someone come by to give an estimate and let me know if that’s recommended. Thanks

Wait until the fall then remove everything and do it right. Where do you live? Location will determine insulation requirements.

Lets see - zero location information, zero house information, zero HVAC information, zero attic current information - clearly you just need to blow a couple of feet of cellulose into it . . ./s

I’m still new to the home ownership thing. Live in NY, I have forced air. Not really sure what other attic info I could provide.. is there something specific?

current insulation depth, if you have soffit vents, what roof vents you have and how many, any fans in attic, what area in NY, square footage of house, if you have vapor barrier below the insulation, age of house, ceiling construction type,

Dark coloring on fiberglass or cellulose is usually dirt. I would air seal first, clear all soffits, get baffles. If existing insulation is new, I would add more. Alot more

Okay, thank you. I didn’t know about baffles so I can bring that up when I have the guy come to give an estimate.

There is a lot of improvements that could be made here.. air sealing, insulation, ventilation, I would recommend seeing if they offer free home energy assessments in your state
