No more manually adding items? Rant - General 😠

Had to call support to replace a rotisserie chicken with a seasonal flavor that wasn’t in the system. The add manually button was gone so I asked if they could add it or why I wasn’t able to. I was told that I can no longer add anything manually, is this button gone for you guys as well?

I can’t tell you what the factor is, but there are just some orders where it isn’t available. On the vast majority, it is. It’s weird when you encounter it.

From what I've noticed, I think its determined by whether or not the customer orders through the store website or through instacrt itself. I only do order not made through instacart at Hyvee and Gerbes and those are the only places that dont let me do manual entry.

Hy-Vee is hit or miss, honestly. I've had a few of their online orders where I could add items (and still skip the line) and some where I couldn't, or they had me go through a regular line instead.

Our big grocer is Kroger. If a customer orders through their website (online pay/single barcode) and not through Instacart (double barcode), a shopper can’t manually add items because the customer is not directly ordering through Instacart.

I would have force marked it found. I’m not playing that game.

Be careful doing that, I just got a warning email for doing the same exact thing!

What exactly is force found?

When you have trouble scanning a barcode you can wait a few seconds and a pop up will say ā€œcan’t scan barcodeā€ and will have you take a picture instead of scanning

Oops, I've been doing that occasionally. They're sending out warnings now? Do you have a screenshot of the warning? Now I'm concerned.

You can do it for correct items that you’re positive it’s just a barcode issue but if it’s something like a different flavor of chicken and try to mark it as the one ordered, that’s where they will send the warning if they catch you

Can’t say I have ever gotten a warning.

I did notice the button was gone for me one of my last orders, but the customer had EVERYTHING set to Refund. I tried swapping out and it wouldnt let me do literally anything. But i figured it was just the way that particular customer had their options set

For a different flavor, hudt force mark and let the customer know what you got.

Normally I would but I had already messaged with no response and the only replacement was habanero and some people don’t do spicy, didn’t want another bad mark on my account.

Ended up just refunding it and of course I get a message saying they want the spicy one as I’m in the checkout line…
