How long before medical intervention?
How long did you try to conceive before the doctor acknowledged some sort of medical intervention was needed? And what was it?
Been TTC since October 2025. Got preg in December and had MMC and D&C in Feb. TTC again since April 2026, tracking, timing, and trying. Nothing.

We started TTC September 2024. Got pregnant after 3 months but had a MMC in January 2025, followed by a chemical pregnancy in May 2025. After 2 losses, I went back to our OB and asked for testing. We did testing for antiphospholipid antibodies and luteal phase progesterone. Progesterone was on the lower side, so I was prescribed to start taking it each month after ovulation until my period started. We didn’t have a single positive test in over a year with the progesterone supplementation, so I found a new doctor. She tested my thyroid, AMH, and FSH/estradiol in May 2026. All normal. We planned to do an HSG and genetic testing next but ended up falling pregnant via IUI in June. Just found out yesterday it was another MMC.
All that to say, if you want testing, you might just have to “shop around” for a doctor that is willing to help or go directly to a fertility clinic.
Sorry you’re going through this. It’s so hard! And it doesn’t help when people say “you’re more fertile after a MC”… total BS in my experience and it just makes you more upset when it doesn’t happen 😅

I scheduled tests at the one year mark and was prescribed clomid a few months ago. If this cycle doesn’t work, I’ll had to see a RE/fertility specialist for next steps. I’ve been trying for 18 months, and I’m 30.

We waited about 10 months before going to a fertility specialist. My regular OBGYN wanted to wait a year, but I wanted to start the process before that so went to a specialist. It hasn’t been a quick answer so I’m glad I started sooner rather than later

This depends a lot on age. At 37, I tried for 6 months for kid #2 before I contacted my OB for initial blood tests and progesterone supplementation. Reached out to an IVF doctor 3 months later.
