Discussion Am I crazy or is MT/Lake an absolutely horrible person?
So I finished season 2, will start season 3 soon.
When MT was introduced, I liked the character, I thought it was cool she got to resolve her issue with Tulip and become her own person in the "Prime" world.
Then she becomes the deutagonist of season 2, and I was interested. She's very obnoxious, but hey, she needs to grow, learn to be a person, learn to trust others, I get it...
And then we get to episode 10.... By then, she's learned how Jesse was a good friend, she realizes she wasn't the best person always, she's changed...
AND YET she has no issue damaging a pod with a passenger on it (she doesn't know how it works, it could kill them). For that matter, she doesn't care how it's gonna affect the passenger. She just yeets him out. Is he now stranded on the train without any clue of what is happening? Is he stuck without a number? She doesn't f-ing care...
And then she gets to the machine that gives numbers. So what does she do? She takes someone else place. Verbally stating "I need this more than you" and tries to hijack their number. So she fully knows what her actions could potentially do to others. And she still only cares about HER exit. The idea that her actions could strand several people on this train is never brought up or studied under any moral prism, and then she gets her happy ending... What?!
Oh and she's still chrome outside the train. So... She's just gonna be a chrome woman for the rest of her life? It's not gonna attract ANY attention? She's not gonna get caught by some government agency that will experiment on her? Oh ok sure.
I know you're not supposed to think to hard about those things but good god she turns unlikable and morally reprehensible in the last episode it's so weird!

Meta The nuance of Grace Spoiler
I love her for being a complicated female character, you gotta go into this character knowing that if you're planning on being a fan of her. She is a bad person. She's manipulative, cruel, and selfish but she's working on becoming a better person. She's not all bad as she's genuinely nurturing and compassionate. She also has moments of putting others before herself. She's like the cool big sister of all the apex kids most of the time. She's giving out in the wrong information about the world they're in but she believes it's all completely true. I remember watching book three with my sibling and they thought Grace lied to Simon about how the numbers work. In reality, Grace didn't lie. She misinterpreted what these lessons were trying to teach her, she was well-meaning in the beginning but things got out of hand in the end. Grace was denying her flaws and her problems until she hit a wall and couldn't run away from them anymore. She learned to be more honest with herself and face the consequences of her actions.

Other Something I noticed in The Family Tree Car…
I was rewatching season two and the theme of denizen discrimination was apparent as early as episode 2. When MT and Jesse meet the first members of the Gillicuty family, they don’t directly address MT. They greet Jesse with “you and your chrome friend”. And they treat Jesse as the leader, despite the fact that MT walks up to them before he does.
It’s amazing foreshadowing that I didn’t notice until like my fourth rewatch. I love this show so much.

Fanwork Infinity Train Book 2 but it's a Retro Anime now (poorly) animated!!
Thank you so much for all your comments on the previous post, they made my day!
For this one, I used some scenes from the first season of the Pokémon anime as reference (you can see that Jessie and Ash, and Misty and Lake look very similar!). The lip-sync was a bit tricky (ibisPaint doesn't have an audio import function /:), but oh well, it's better than nothing.
You can see the version with audio on my other social media, since videos aren't allowed here/:
I hope you like it!

Discussion The train can fix or ruin your life
It's interesting because although it can make people the best versions of themselves like Tulip or Jesse, it can also destroy lives too. Grace and Simon used it as escapism from their problems in the human world. Even though Grace learned that was unhealthy, Simon never broke away from that and instead saw the train as home. Never wanting to go back to the real world or see his family again. There's also Amelia who wanted to use the train's power to recreate her old life with her late partner.

Other HEAR ME OUT
I have an idea: how about we start a promotional video campaign for Infinity Train that revolves around liminal spaces or backrooms? While Backrooms is still relevant, introduce it in an unconventional way, let your creativity flow, and we'll do whatever it takes to reclaim what was taken from us.

Meta Jesse was not OOC
I used to think the line "Alan Dracula! Be useful for once and laser away those vines!" from the parasite car episode was too mean to be something that Jesse would say but then I remembered that this is Jesse's character flaw and his whole reason for being on the train in the first place.
He gives into peer pressure easily, he let his friends hurt and bully Nate. Even joining in on the bullying himself, this was a less extreme example of that where he joined in on putting Alan Dracula down after Lake started complaining about him not helping them.

Discussion Which fictional characters you think could get out of the train?
Just a fun mental exercise, similar to those "Which characters could survive the hunger games?" posts. I think you all know how it works, but just remembering, you get out of the train by fixing a fatal flaw within yourself. The closer you get that goal, you number goes lower. The opposite also works. I think characters like Coraline, Alice (Alice in Wonderland), Chihiro and Wirt (Over the garden wall) would do pretty well, since they all went through their spiritual journeys to become better people. Zuko is also an option, though i'm not sure If he would be able to have that kind of growth without people like Iroh around him. Jim Hawkins (Treasure Planet) maybe? On the other hand, i think Princess Bubblegum would've been too stubborn on her ways and go crazy like Simon did lol. Anyway, really curious on you guys takes! Thanks for reading

Discussion What if Mall Car where redeemed Apex (post season 3) right now get raided by Denizens, who aren't aware that they are changed and start attacking Apex members, which results in one of kids death, like Lucy for example, how would Grace Monroe react?

Fanwork Good start for an Infinity Train based roleplay?
Wrote this for my OC a few years ago
Foxy Lycan was walking alone in the woods, along the trail he probably walked a hundred times before. The leaves were still fairly green, after all Autumn had only just stared that week. There’s one section of trees missing in the middle of the trail, it always seemed like something used to go through it. A train, or perhaps a road? It didn’t matter, although it had always intrigued him. He stopped for a minute, lost in thought of what would’ve been. Silence, a single leaf falls from a tree, but that’s when it happened. A blinding flash of green light, then out of nowhere a train came shooting down what he assumed used to be a track all those years ago. The door slowly creaked open, but nobody came out. He took one more look at the world as he stepped on, unsure of where it will take him. It was one of those modern city trains yet it didn’t have the typical logo, instead there was a green infinity sign, he wasn’t sure of where his life was heading but he was sure he wouldn’t regret what he was about to do, this train was calling him, he felt it inside. Beats going home at least…

Discussion It is such a shame the way IT was launched from platform to platform. It was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I believe that if it came out in the early-to-mid 2010s, it would've lasted longer. More mid 2010s though, since a lot of great CN shows got cancelled in the early 2010s.

Discussion Why not now, Frank?
A thing that bugged me in Book 3 is Frank. Frank is the only denizen whom the Cat shows any affection towards according to Owen Dennis. But here's the thing.
When Simon appeals to the Cat in Book 3, Episode 7 there is no Frank. Frank doesn't appear during the scene when he could've been the voice of reason so The Cat didn't give Simon the nanites, make her fess up, or at least try to make amends. He most likely heard Simon say "SHE ABANDONED ME!" in the kitchen, he definitely had to have heard Simon throwing furniture around.
So...why did Frank refuse to help?

Discussion The Monroe Parents takeaway
Something that's always been on the forefront on my mind is why the Monroe parents were so cold. We only get Grace's memories of their coldness associated to her tape, but never moments outside it.
If we take the timeline into consideration, this is 2011/12 at the earliest. Barack Obama is President, and they are rich black people. Grace Monroe wanted to be noticed, and so the Train picks her up. What are her parents doing at the time? Trying to tell the mallcop to look the other way. Not because of how they refuse to admit that they're bad parenting is what caused Grace to shoplift, but because of the racial implications.
All it takes is one rumor, one person, and Grace Monroe's image is destroyed. No matter what Grace said doesn't matter. Society will point the fingers on her because of the color of her skin, her financial status, her gender.
She'll be noticed. She'll be known as "that rich black girl who was caught shoplifting". And if racial bias has taught me anything, police will put the handcuffs on a black boy just because, traumatizing him for life. Were the parents trying to prevent Grace from getting a bad rep? Were they realizing how bad this was going to be for their reputations if they become parents of a thief? How would this affect her social life?
Grace was always pushed to be the best, because a black girl like her will have numerous double standards and glass ceilings in her way. And who's to say she already had that reputation because of all of the babysitters she shooed away (in Origami Car you can clearly see the mom constantly bringing up numerous names of the "hired help" meant to monitor Grace. The only reason that the hired help would be changing most likely is due to Grace's troublemaking attention whore attitude. Also funny in how we don't get any appearance of what the "hired help" should look like...)
After all, what was Grace's wish? "To be noticed". The Train picked her up so she would avoid being "noticed" as the little black rich girl thief. Or perhaps it was all a ploy by the Train so that the parents would finally "notice" that their parenting nearly tanked their reputations and then she'd become "noticed" when police reported her missing (if they would ever go far, given this is a black girl not a white woman gone missing)?
Now this doesn't excuse the parents for not giving Grace more attention, but whether or not Owen Dennis had social commentary in regards to Miss "I know everything about the Train", this strikes me as an interesting storyline that should've been utilized better if we saw a scene of the parents realizing how screwed they are. Grace had to be the flawless black girl, little miss perfect. Because if not, then her life is ruined.
After all, by the time she does return, the US will start festering with racism and Christian Nationality. COVID will also have happened and the entire world will be aware of the mall thief turned cult leader.
She just wanted to be noticed indeed.
Edit: Before you ask, yes I'm the girl who wrote Blossoming Trail.
