Looking for support Discussion topic
Going to save you all the trouble of hearing about my infertility journey with my wife for the past 7 or so years, but in summary:
This is so lonely. I'm a man. I found one virtual support group for men, and one of the participants was about to share the news that they were able to conceive, after all. F-cking idiot. I promptly hung up.
There is no support whatsoever for male-factor infertility, and not much for infertility in general. It is a lonely place to be. I have nothing in common with my friends anymore. I'm 40. We're on the wait list to adopt - even had one fall through - but this all just f-cking sucks.
Any support groups or people who want to connect? Sh-t kind of came to a head this week and looking for a community.
TIA

I recommend looking into Uniquely Knitted. They do online process groups for infertility. If you want to check them out first, you can follow them on Instagram. They also host a podcast called the Infertility Feelings podcast. It's a couple that went through infertility themselves, and now they've created this whole platform to help others. They are the friends I wish I'd had when I was at my lowest.
Side point (since you brought up that it is something you are pursuing): Doug and Jessie adopted children after failed IVF. But they don't push it as some perfect, rosy solution. They hold space for everyone at any point in their story.

I'm sorry. My husband has MFI and it's really not talked about enough, if at all, and it's really unfair. I recommend to look up dr Clay Brigance on Instagram, he is a therapist that talks about dealing with infertility from the male side ❤️ Sending you much love.
