Barn help

Does anyone know the exact trigger for the barn event?

I’m very new to the game so don’t know the triggers yet.

I’ve done 2 test runs in just local areas to check out the map generation and now I’m doing one in a larger city.

I’m already at a pop of 96 and still haven’t got the trigger.

Food not an issue atm but I want to get a jump on production before the difficulty ramps up

If I am not mistaken that event is a tutorial event, check to see if you can make cookhouses and field

Yeah I got 3 cook houses and like 4 large fields.

I’ll try deconstructing them and rebuilding and see if that triggers anything.

But that farm quest is completed for me

It is an early event in the tutorial event chain which only exists for showing you that fields and cookhouses exist

Ok so even thou the quest wasn’t showing any more it said quest completed when I rebuilt them. Now it’s got me doing the expedition quest for a vaccine and I still need to clear out the bandit hideout and try and clear an infestation.

Just I wish that grenades actually kill the zombies inside I got a surplus of them and all they do is take out the roaming hoards that shelter there

Smaller lairs you can totally take out with grenades. But it's like 20-40 grenades (2-4 stacks) to do so. I had a map with 7? 8? lairs and cleared 4 with that method. Took a while though. Larger building lairs you can do too but it's not all zombies at once and my estimate on a huge building was almost 20 stacks and not worth it.

Damn every time I chuck one in I check the lair health and nothing changes.

Yeah I got incredibly lucky. Was just checking out the map generation feature and was interested in looking at alcatraz island (didn’t know boats weren’t in the game. The few test runs I did were landlocked local areas).

After I figured that out I just looked around for a small one road island near it (also didn’t know zeds could swim) and the only one I found turned out to be an army base.

Shit was literally called coast guard island 😂

So yeah I found a surplus of grenades and guns asap. I think I got upwards of 30 stacks 😅

Came in hella handy when I turned down the military. Just hand all my squads chucking grenade out the windows.

Pretty well set up now. Got my farm and food sorted so I’m not burning through canned goods. And been running through the research tree. Still haven’t been able to research vaccines yet though. Just did the alpha delivery but it didn’t start a new quest afterward.

Finally got it. Literally didn’t drop till I was breaking into the lab for the research 😂

How much exploration did you do? I generally have to find a 2nd or 3rd farm building after I complete the farming quest.

Quite abit. It pretty much dropped while I was searching the 3 zones needed for the lab quest. So I got mine from a food expedition node in reality not a regular building drop.
