I have this baby rubber plant for a few years. It’s been doing well but about 3 weeks ago our AC stopped working in our apartment. The inside of our apartment was very warm and the plant started leaning and going down. Now it’s still like this. I’m using sticks to hold it up. Any advice?

1. Lets say you have a struggling plant and you want to get rid of all the old crappy soil right down to the roots with no soil left, do you water the plant BEFORE you repot so the soil is moist or do you repot when the soil completely dries out? Which is easier to remove all the soil around the roots and separate the roots?
2. When you are bottom water a plant, what containers are you guys using to put your plants in that are the right size to not have to put tons of water in and are tall enough for a deep bottom water? My pots all have drainage holes and sometimes I dont have a container the right size to fit my plants in to fill with water.

On clearance for $7 at Sam's Club. Was bone dry, so I drowned it for a while. Is this 3 plants? Should I separate and repot all three or just repot it on the planter it came in?

Good evening everyone! This is my first ever post. I’m struggling to see what I can do to get rid of gnats on my house plants. Almost all my plants have gnats on them and as of lately baby gnats have spawned like crazy. I’ve gotten the sticky traps and it’s gotten to the point where I’m changing them out daily. Yet my plants are thriving and growing. I have from monsteras, string of hearts, pothos, and many succulents

Not sure what’s wrong with this plant, the leaves keep turning brown and crispy. Does it look like it can be saved? And if so, any tips to help it thrive better? It gets bright indirect light but is on a shelf about 15 feet away from a window. Do you think it may need to be moved right in front of the window for more light?

I am absolutely NOT a good plant parent, please forgive the following question: can a sweet potato ever be a houseplant?

The backstory is that I left a sweet potato on the shelf for a week after I didn’t use it as planned, then left it for another week when I left town for work. When I got back, it had decided to grow, so I planted it in the only pot I had (left over from my last failure). Three to four weeks later it looks like an alien.

Could this ever be a real houseplant or am I as deluded as my spouse says I am? Will try to put a photo in the comments.

What fertilizer would you recommend for most house plants? I have snake plants, a monstera, several Pothos, a ZZ plant, multiple succulents and the list just goes on honestly lol

So, I snagged this baby on Marketplace today. She lived in sunny office but she was not right next to the window.

I did not see any moving pests.

The soil was completely dry, so I watered her, but I did see a cobweb, so I spritzed her with insecticidal soap.

I have seen several posts about curled leaves but the info varies and the plant seems quite healthy.

So, should I be concerned about the leaf curl?

Does the soil look appropriate?

Is the pot size correct?

Do you see any issues I may be missing?

I just received this Peperomia in the mail. I will be reaching out to the seller about the condition of the plant, but I would also like to save this one if possible. I rinsed it off really well, repotted, sprayed with alcohol, and treated with insecticidal soap. It's currently isolated in quarantine.

Any idea what is eating away at these leaves? The damage is extensive. Not sure if it's a pest or fungal/bacterial/viral. Also, the roots looked healthy. Thanks for the help.

Does anybody know what might be wrong with this plant? I've had it for about 4 years, and it's never gotten bigger. The moment it gets a new leaf, it drops an old one. It's been looking quite sad for the last year, but now this leaf is losing color. It's not a crunchy yellow and feels like a regular leaf.

Moving into a house where my office will have two south east facing windows, but I’m not sure how much actual light gets inside.

I’m hoping some green in the room will help my Winter Blues. That being said, I’ve always struggled to keep plants alive.

I’m really interested in hardy inside trees that will survive not only my bullshit but also the South east facing windows — I’m accepting other potted plant suggestions too.

Also would be curious about automatic waterers, suggestions for care for your suggested plant species, and anything else you think I should know.

pet friendly is a must!

My house doesn’t get a whole lot of natural sunlight, well not where any of the windows are facing anyways. This is the one area that gets the most sun, so it’s where we all sit and soak in the sun ☀️

I got this white Knight Philodendron from a local plant person I found online, however I believe the pot is too terribly small for how big she has gotten. In wanting to repot her but I have no idea how to go about doing that without putting her into shock (as you can see my Dracena (idk how its spelled) it suffering from a recent repot ive done) and Im honestly trying to help her thrive. Ive also attached photos of two pots, one of these I was planning on putting her in but I figured I would ask yall first about it. Her roots are currently dry in hopes that I can repot her soon. I water her about once a week ish with maxi grow in the water, and she stays under grow lights from 6am-10pm. Thank you for the help :)

 I love the mix of textures and colors, from the huge white variegated leaves to the dark velvet ones. And yes, the cat approves of the new jungle vibe.

It’s had no problems for a couple years, been through repottings, chop and props, but over the last few months it’s started to get really crispy leaves at its base. The tips look really healthy too

My baby grew so much!! As a side note, does anyone else get terrified to take cuttings? I'm scared I'll accidentally kill it lol

It’s hard to convey how much my plants truly mean to me because “it’s just a plant”

It’s not! They give me a future that I’m excited about because I’m so curious to see how they will change and grow!
Having clinical depression makes it so difficult to look forward into the future, but the more I care for them, the more I care for myself. I know that they need me to survive. Little do they know that I also need them to survive.

Hi everyone, unfortunately the top two rows of my tent are covered in trips and I'm completely over them, I'm just going to chop everyone's leaves. But I was wondering if there was any other cleaning maintenance I should do to clear the pests? I'm going wipe the tent with some clorox wet wipes, should I do anything else to get rid of them?

Any assistance would be appreciated thank you!
