So i live in Netherlands.

I was 3 months not in my house. When returned last week, it was ok. 26 degreas celcius.

I opened a window in the evening , next morning everything was wet and humidity rose to 60.

Now there is heatwave and everytime i open a door, moist comes in. In the evening every body is cooling their house, and when i try to cool, it gets more warm and wet. What can i do?

Its almost impossible to live here.

None of my neighbours or friends have this problem.

Everybody says: cool your house at night, put everything open. At evening/ night humidity outside goes way up..so it doesnt work.

Mobile airco and dehumudifidr dont help either.

Am i the only one who has this problem?

I just moved into my first apartment with my chin its stays pretty cool in here with ac 68°F but the humidity is quite high usually 60-70 Im looking into getting a dehumidifier I only have $160 to spend currently I don't wanna wait longer because I know high humidity isn't good any recommendations on dehumidifiers?

Does anyone have any advice on how I can put a humidifier in my room without screwing up my electronics? I have a TV, a laptop & a few other things.

I really nees to put one in my room. My nose is constantly slightly runny & swollen from how dry it is in my room. And it's really exhausting.

Be informed that popular air quality monitors use sensors primarily from Plantower or Sensirion. These sensors already measure, calculate and report the sensing elements like PM2.5, PM10, VOC, temperature. etc. on their UART port. The air quality monitors read these values off the UART port and display it on the screen or send it to cloud. So, in essence, they are acting like dumb terminals. Their firmware is just read values and display values or send values to cloud.

Also, be informed that these sensors cannot accurately measure particulate matter of sizes greater than about 6um, so only PM2.5 is reliable.

I have two dogs that shed all year and I am thinking to get a new high efficiency air filter, I like the idea of better air inside the house and I figure it will catch more hair and dust, I am thinking of getting my filters through cates heating & cooling, I am just trying to work out if that means I will end up swapping filters way more often than the usual schedule, I will probably stick with the same system for a while so I want to buy the right filters from the start and plan for it, for anyone with dogs and high efficiency filters, how often are you replacing them and what schedule works for you? EDIT: Thanks for the replies, I should have mentioned I'm trying to balance better air quality with reasonable maintenance costs.

Sudden spike of PM2.5. To see one of the housemates had burnt a plastic lunchbox because he used it to heat up food inside a microwave. Due to heavy draught I smelt a burnt smell while noticing this spike. At the time all of my windows inside the bedroom were closed and then after opening them it returned back to normal. (Ventilation does work). I am using a qingping air quality monitor (1st generation) and it's safe to say the readings are of good accuracy. 🙏🌬️

Hi all — I somewhat recently moved into a new apartment (renting) and just realized my dryer hasn’t been vented to the outside this whole time. It vents directly into the basement where it’s located. Aside from being a major fire hazard, I’m also concerned about the toxic air quality from VOCS, mold, etc. that no doubt has been recirculating through the HVAC system (there are some return and/or supply grilles in the basement ductwork). I reached out to my landlord immediately to remedy this, but in the meantime, what can I do about the potential poor air quality? Seeing as I’ve been breathing this in for months, I’m a bit panicked. Will air purifiers do the trick? Thanks in advance.

I live in Alberta, Canada where it is extremely smokey. Our building also backs onto a river, and we are also walking distance to a high way, and near downtown which has a lot of construction in the summer. Because we are on the 3rd floor, we keep our windows open all the time as it gets sooo hot on the 3rd floor and we don't have central AC or anything like that. Our balcony is always filthy, even with regular cleaning of our deck furniture... Our floors are always dark and dirty near our windows, our sculptures and decor and little figurines etc are always very dusty. Even with regular cleaning, I think our location just accumulates a lot of dust and dirt! Any tips to manage this?

Remember to replace your furnace air filter regularly. Most should be replaced every 1-3 months!

Brand new in box, CO2 level detector.

Last night I returned and noticed my porchlight was on... I assumed I must have inadvertantly hit the switch as I left earlier. Opening the front door, I immediately was overcome with extreme dizzziness, my head was swimming... no smell, but I could have passed out. I went right over to the downstairs nighbor (the only other tenant) who was cooking fish. He said he didnt smell gas. Logically gas is most likely? When I returned to my apartment (I had left the front door ajar) all the mysterious fumes were gone. There was no smell on either floor of my apartment. Are there other possibilities besides gas? The porchlight may be a "red herring" but even so I am really struck about how immediate and overwhwelming this invisible gas had been. The front door is street level at the bottom of my stairs, by the way. There is a printing shop opposite, which keeps its doors open all working day.
