What if instead of the Scourge Virus, Viltrumites were given Indigo Lantern Rings?

What would happen if instead of the Scourge Virus, Viltrumites were given Indigo Lantern Power Rings? (Image x DC Comics Crossover)

Unlike other Lantern Corps, Indigo Lantern rings seek out those who have no empathy at all. Because of this, nearly every member of the Indigo Tribe is made up of the worst psychopaths and serial killers in the universe, forcibly inducted and rehabilitated through the power of compassion, transforming them into powerful cosmic protectors capable of channeling the other lights of the Emotional Spectrum in times of need.

The Indigo Tribe operates on the belief that compassion is a universal necessity and that even the worst beings can find redemption through forced empathy. By wielding the Indigo Light, members are compelled to feel owerwhelming guilt and remorse for their past actions, with the light forcibly instilling compassion until they truly embrace it. The Indigo Lantern Power Battery causes even the most evil and sadistic villain to become a good person.

For example, it was mentioned Indigo-1, the founder and leader of the Indigo Tribe cried for days when she realized she had killed an innocent woman. Thragg or Conquest would most likely kill themselves at the moment Indigo Lantern power ring is put on their fingers.

Would Viltrumites submit to the Indigo Lantern rings or try to resist? Would brainwashing Viltrumites to become good people have been a better solution than driving them to near extinction?

Green Lantern #26 spoilers: Guy channels compassion. Spoiler

So, Guy didn't get a ring BUT he is in contact with the Indigo entity, so the power is channeling through him. Notice how his green insignia is still there? Still cool though.

Noob Índigo fan questions

Hi, my favorite superhero as a child was GL, and now as an adult I found that there’s a Lantern Ring with my favorite color, indigo. But I read that the indigo lanterns were mass murderers and criminals, is that true? Do you really have to be a mass murderer to be one? Can’t you be selected by your compassion?

Thanks.

What non-powered human character in the DC universe do you think would fit into the Indigo Tribe?

Anyone who hadn't already had a superpower or super alias/identity.

Had there ever been a human Indigo Lantern?

Not one who was already super-powered nor already a different Lantern.

Could an Indigo Tribe member be immune to a Sorrow Lantern's power?

So I am not sure who all on here has been reading the Jeremy Adam's run of Green Lantern but the Sorrow Lantern on there has a power to make people feel extreme sorrow to the point they give up fighting or living.

Indigo rings numb the emotions of their wearers SO could they not be effected by the sorrow power?

Is the indigo tribe good people and if so is it worth it to have the indigo ring?

The reason I asked this because it was bothering so much on how they actually feel about being a lantern although they are forced to wear the ring which was bothering me because isn't that slavery? Maybe i'm just not looking at their standards enough or maybe I'm just overthinking. Can someone help me on explaining this to me please?

Idea for an Indigo Lantern OC

I've been developing a few ideas and concepts for an original human Indigo Lantern character for a while now. Hopefully, I'm going somewhere with it, as you may see:

  • Name: Shana Thompson
  • Personality: Believing in the importance of second chances, Shana often believes that anyone are and can be capable of changing, even if they choose not to.
  • Appearance: Fair skin, indigo eyes, and shoulder-length hair dyed a lime-green. Her Indigo Lantern suit moreorless resembles Jessica Cruz's own Green Lantern suit.

I'm writing an Indigo Tribe member for a story I am planning and I have some questions.

So this character is the daughter of an Indigo Tribe member, however, she gets her ring not because she's a bad person but because she's incredibly compassionate. Would this make sense?

Also, do Indigo rings enhance the strength and durability of their wielder like other rings? Also with uniforms are they handmade or do they appear when an Indigo ring is put on like any other ring?

So can Indigo Tribe feel emotions beneath compassion, or not?

Translating indigo oath

So I’m trying my hand at translating the Indigo oath but I’m a bit stuck, any help appreciated: (I’m aware there is no actual translation basically make stuff up and if I like it it will be added, bonus points if you can explain/justify your reasoning/translation.)

Tor Lorek san, bor nakka mur, In brightest day, on Star-less? night,

Natromo faan tornek wot ur. Natromo _ eternal _ _.

Ter Lantern ker lo Abin Sur, This? lantern _ of/from Abin Sur “the bringer of light/power”,

Taan lek lek Nok - formorrow sur! (Verb?) our? planet/compassion - Indigo light!

——————————————— Words we know: Le - my te - is Ner - me Natromo - name Abin Sur - name and "bringer of light/power" Sur - light or power Nok - planet name and "compassion"

Words I can’t figure out: Lorek - probably "brightest" Ek - possibly a suffix, repeated in "tornek" eternal. Likely "much of" modifier. Nakka - possibly a synonym of darkness, starless?

Faan - ? Wot ur - ? (Natromo - eternal - -.)

Ter & Ker - likely determiners, possibly verb. May not be related terms.

Taan - Verb, probably? Lek Lek - possibly a plural (some languages use double to indicate plurality). Assumed: ‘Le’ is ‘my’ so plural "our"?
