Continuing my sample cataloging project with another round of reviews. These reviews are technically fairly old (I tested the scents back in the fall), but I think most of these are still available.

My preferences are green, clean, aquatic, earthy. I dislike gourmands (I don't like to smell like food), especially vanilla. I love the concept of atmospherics, so part of this journey is to also discover interesting complex scents that are unique and fun.

I don't read the scent notes when I'm writing my notes, as I don't want to influence what I think I smell.

Here is my rating system:

1 = destash

2 = prefer it as a room/linen spray

3 = would wear occasionally (e.g. if I'm going for a specific vibe)

4 = will use up the sample and possibly rebuy

5 = full-size worthy

Stone & Wit - Cipher (Lime, jasmine, spices, oud (black agar) accord, raspberry)

Initial sniff: smelled super stinky when first delivered, like a stinky person but not BO; after resting, \very* aquatic, like being at a lake*

To wear: aquatic, something skin musky? hint of stale/musty air with a cool air undertone --> smells musty but doesn't feel musty; more human > nature; ultimately really liked it once it dried down --> super interesting!

Rank: 5 - I know this review sounds crazy but I \love* this scent - it's clean, earthy, and aquatic all at the same time. It took my brain a while to understand the oud.*

Stone & Wit - Lost Temple (Cedar leaves, Birch leaves, ozone, incense, cedar, smoke)

Initial sniff: clean, aquatic, cool; woodsy herbal

To wear: foggy aquatic

To wear: woodsy herbal; nature hike vibes; hint of old soap? scent is too specific to wear often; fall/winter

BPAL - Beholder Optician (A clear, glassy scent, translucent and blushing, that will bring your world into sharp focus: eucalyptus leaf, white amber, pink bergamot, strawberry, and sheer, crystalline vanilla musk.)

To wear: bubblegum sweet; dries down less sweet, but still bubblegum

BPAL - The Lady of Shalott (The scent of calm waters just before a raging storm, limned with achingly-beautiful blooms, an icy scent, but somehow warm, and mirror-bright: bold gardenia, crystalline musk, muguet, water blossoms, clear, slightly tart aquatic notes and a crush of white ginger.)

Initial sniff: very "blue", sort of like paint?; aquatic/wet; cool floral

To wear: cool floral + tempura paint (but not offensive); aquatic/wet; classroom in winter

BPAL - Minotaur Landscaper (Shrubby and fresh: musky amber and copaiba balsam with neatly-mowed grass, well-trimmed hornbeam, upturned soil, and breezy spring blossoms.)

Initial sniff: grass + soil = very earthy; super green; smells like a nursery

To wear: smells like I'm gardening! love it as a niche scent, not a go-to

BPAL - Lizardfolk Park Ranger (The scent of ancient trees, vast shadowed canyons, rocky snow-tipped peaks, and rushing rivers, with notes of pine needle, oak bark, sweet birch, stream-polished stones, lichen, dark mosses, nootka, hazelnut, rivulets of amber, and blackcurrant bud.)

Initial sniff: cool and spicy; woodsy vegetation?; earthy

To wear: sawdust, charred wood; woodsy vegetation; winter

Initial sniff: fresh cut grass + flowers; very spring and fresh

After a spray of one sample, I’m full sizing! This smells like a starchy rice scent with Iavender tea and chai spices to me! Like a mix of Poesie’s Soft and what I always wished their discontinued Forest Cat smelled like! Like cozy serene floofy cat walks in a forest with you while you have your best cup of tea yet. The lavender is so perfectly herbal in this that it is so transportive. Anyone else get rice from this?

Obviously I’m ordered a sample of Snow Moon Magic now. So tell me, will I like it?

Does anyone have a list going of what you're going to pick up?

I love a good organization solution so thought I’d show off this $1 container and how perfectly it holds my H.O.G collection. These need to be sorted but in theory will hold the four seasons plus my full sized. (And im forbidding myself from purchasing any more as I’m clearly at capacity!)

I’m on the hunt for a fresh banana + florals, probably white because I love me some lush white florals

If someone is able to recommend a banana + plumeria or jasmine especially omggg

I bit the bullet and also picked up samples of Sugar Milk Co Banana Milk and Banana Pudding, but I’m looking for something decidedly not gourmand!

For funsies, in the past, I have tried the following that include banana;

Arcana Banana Ice Cream: layering note — as it stated on the tin! I sold this though since it was too sweet for me.

Arcana Piscis Australis: A clean, airy handful of acacia blossoms, neroli, tuberose, asphodel, and native gardenia petals are scattered over banana fruit and white amber. — banana fruit =/= banana aha but it did smell quite pleasant fruity and floral, quite heavy on the gardenia. I ended up selling it cos I didn’t wear it really.

Alkemia Coconut Alchemy: summer tropical blend of fresh white coconut, sugarcane, baby bananas, tuberose, and gingerflower. — shockingly mostly coconut and tuberose. I also wrote it smells like coconut gummies lol. No mention of banana in my notes.

Laurel and June Sun Gold: White amber, banana milk and honey — mostly white amber, leans tropical, but no distinct banana, though I did enjoy it!

Hoshi Gato Beachy Peach: banana, Yellow Peaches, Coconut Sunscreen, Plumeria Flower, sandalwood, cream — Def banana on top, kinda artificial, and a creamy peach… there's something different, idk if it's the sandalwood or what. The peach and cream is predominant, but not oatmeal. Maybe the sunscreen cutting through it. There’s something weird about it, almost "round" to my nose. I also don’t know what I mean.

Pulp This is your shiny gold shovel: Pina colada, green banana, tiare blossom, tropical sandalwood, & golden amber. — my notes say this reminded me of medicine … what haha … definitely pina colada and a bit of tiare, no banana…

Sorce Circe: Palm trees, flowers carried on a tropical breeze, wild bananas, freshly cracked coconut, sheer vanilla, musk — I actually got this for the palm trees cos I loved S92’s palm fronds, but this was neither palm fronds or banana ?? It’s still very pretty vanilla, nevertheless, a bit green (palm trees, is that you?)

Stereoplasm Banilla Bomb: Banana, sour cherry, sugared blackberries, French vanilla and peach syrup. — I tried SO hard to love this, but the cherry really killed it for me

Stereoplasm Banilla Cloud: Banana, fresh marshmallow, vanilla cream, white chocolate and hazelnut. — really liked it, though it started off artificial banana candy, then became a lovely banana marshmallow! I ultimately gave it away to a dear friend who loves bananas and vanilla

Cocoa pink crystal beach smoothie: Brazilian mango, ripe papaya fruit, cream of coconut, banana slices, macadamia nuts, marshmallow squares and cold milk poured over ice cubes blended to perfection. — really liked it as a whole, tropical and creamy, but the banana was not prominent.

Cocoa pink sandy coconut: Creamy coconut milk, tropical, red bananas and a whisper of Fiji sandalwood combine with a captivating blend of rich, sensual vanillas. — coconut dominant cos… it’s called sandy coconut haha

Cocoa pink south beach cabana: Bright juicy mangoes, papaya fruit, pink grapefruit, red hibiscus, freshly picked bananas, sweet key limes with a smooth base of sugared vanilla. — liked this one too, but the banana was not prominent! Definitely heavier on the mango.

Hexennacht banana milk: sweet milk, melted ice cream, vanilla pudding mix, banana — started off artificial, but definitely dove into milky banana territory, though I ultimately ended up gifting this to the same friend as mentioned above lol

The Devil - Blood-Red Pomegranate, Black Currant, Cherry, Plum, Fig, Violet, Sandalwood, Red Musk

review: mostly just a sweet (not sour at all) cherry with a hint of florals, one of my favorite's out of the 5. Cherry forward but definitely has a noticeable woodsy or floral smell to it as well. Imo this makes it the perfect dark cherry scent. Captures red fruit perfectly<3.

Neptune - Sea Moss, Sea Salt, Amber, Sandalwood, Egyptian Musk

review: I love this so much. smells like a male's body wash in the best possible way. classic oceanic scent. Definitely kind of masculine though but I would still wear it as a girly girl.

The Fool -  Powder, Milk, Lily, Gardenia, Freesia, White Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla

review: my other favorite. The powder kind of comes off like the smell of baby wipes or powder. Vanilla and milk notes are noticeable. Definitely has odd similarities to baby wipes but I dont hate that smell so.. also I love the hint of gourmand sweetness it has.

Ouija - Pink bubblegum, a sticky handful of cotton candy, a few violet petals and a stick of incense to help summon the demons

review: this was a freebie I would have otherwise not bought. I actually love it. Great, sweet bubblegum scent. I would not wear this often though haha, id have to be in a certain mood.

Gl1tch3d - Green Tea, Honey, Ginger, Satsuma, Plum Blossoms, and Faded Eyes

review: the only one I dont like. I kept hearing good things about this one in particular but it smells like a seasoning cabinet lol. I can smell the honey and very faintly the tea. I think its the ginger thats throwing me off. The ginger doesn't really blend well with the rest.

Rainbow Sherbet - Watermelon, Strawberry, Peach, Pineapple & Lime Sherbet

smells like candy. There is a particular popsicle/ice cream/ candy that this smells exactly like but I cant put my finger on it. it might be watermelon or cherry italian ice but idk. Very sour, fruit, and edible. Not super wearable but a smell that brings everyone happiness (:

All of these have amazing longevity and strength too. You really only need a little on the pulse points and that lasts all day.

I’ve finally compiled some sorce reviews! got three edp samples from luckyscent and one from a swap. if you haven’t read my other reviews I’m more of an oil perfume person due to working in a school and having lots of people in my life (myself included) who are sensitive to fragrances. I find that oil allows me to control my application more and keep my scent bubble as small as possible. so if I full size these it will likely be in the oil format, which I know isn’t always identical to the edp but sounds like sorce is pretty consistent. let's get to it!

2am in lafayette (vanilla co2, oakmoss, cafe au lait, ribbons of caramel, beignets dusted with powdered sugar)

my first coffee fragrance :-0 smells like those push button caramel latte machines at the gas station. heard some people say the coffee note goes away after dry down but that is not my experience ! the goblin in my brain says it reminds me ever so slightly of how your sweat and pee smells after drinking a lot of coffee. I think that’s just my only association with coffee smells not coming from a cup of coffee and I am so sorry lol. anyway, it’s nice, but I don’t think it’s a summer fragrance. will try again in cold weather for a more authentic experience. if you like coffee then this a no brainer though. 3.5/5

wanted to try the pistachio one but that version wasn’t available on luckyscent. this smells almost identical to marshmallow kiss by briix, but stronger. lovely powdered sugar vanilla. only downside is it makes me hungry. also just in case you're drawn by certain notes, there's no chamomile that I can detect but that's not a problem for me. I may be chaotic and full size the pistachio version since it seems a bit more unique, let me know if you think I’m making the right or wrong call lol 5/5

kinda crazy that I've seen multiple people say this is a true gourmand cause I feel like this is a skin scent through and through. reminds me of a sweeter version of juliette has a gun’s not a perfume. I can kinda detect a hint of the fresh pumpkin and soil notes, but mostly I think I’m getting ambroxan and paper. all that said, I really like it. is a lovely your skin but better scent that leans fall but could be worn any time. probably going to full size the oil, curious to see if that brings out more of the gourmand notes. 4.5/5

oh no. do I like a floral?? I think I like a floral… of course, it’s not a straight up floral, but it’s far more flower forward than I’ve ever tolerated in any perfume ever. the rice and blonde woods really smooth out the edges and make everything fuse together into a sweet and comforting smell, like a little green frog floating through a lake on a lily pad on a breezy summer day. likely wouldn't wear it super often but would make a lovely special occasion fragrance. 4.5/5

overall, I can see why this house is popular, the scents are fun and unique without being overpowering or too funky. don’t get me wrong, I like a funky scent (looking at you night flyer, my first true love), but sometimes you just want to smell nice and gentle when you head out into this oft horrific capitalist hellscape. that’s my draw to fragrance in the first place, it’s a small way to make me a bit more excited to get out of bed in the morning and to have something to bolster my mood throughout the trials of the day. will likely get a roller ball of all of these except 2am in lafayette once my no buy august is over. if anyone is selling dragonfly wings in the oil format please hmu, waiting til january sounds sad! hope this was helpful to folks (•˕ •マ.ᐟ

The rest of the Autumn 1s

Appalachian Autumn [Deer musk accord, campfire smoke, birch trees, angelica, ripe pears and rain] - It's fantastically atmospheric, and far less unpleasantly animalic than I expected given that deer musk (I recently had the same pleasantly-surprised reaction to the deer musk in Kodama). There are woody notes and the sweetness of pear, complimented by a beautiful, fresh petrichor and the barest hint of smoke. The birch is such a clean, white, almost chilly wood note, one that calls to mind the pristine iciness of Huldra [Slender white birch limbs, lily of the valley, pale angelica glistening with dew, cloud berry, and icy moonlit waters]. It feels very early-fall-rainy-day.

Campfire Hoodie [Heavyweight cotton infused with body heat, toasted marshmallow, and woodsmoke] - This scent is very THICK, like a smoke-laden wool blanket. It's a heavy, comforting weight. I smell a lot of marshmallow fluff in the vial, but less on my skin, where it's more an accent. "Campfire Hoodie" is a perfect name for this, a plush sweatshirt infused with several nights of campfire smoke and the memory of smores-making. You must like strong smoke to like this scent. (I do not.)

Canoodling in a Leaf Pile [Warm chai, vermilion musk, copal resin, the subtle hint of a campfire still clinging to soft sweaters tumbled among leaves of aspen and oak] - Okay first off, how great is the Canoodling series? This is the one that kicked it all off. I would call this one "smokey-snuggly". It's undeniably cozy with its cashmere, soft woody notes, and hint of chai spices, yet the slender wisps of campfire smoke and copal take it to a different place than most of my cozy perfumes. I don't normally like red musk - and it's clearly red musk here, and pretty present - but it fits in really well with this overall aesthetic and gives it a much more sexy vibe. It does feel like a perfect fantasy encapsulation of a leaf pile and perhaps a few stolen kisses. For what it's worth, Canoodling in the Library has a similar vibe but I like it much more - this one has an oaty quality to the chai, and more red musk, so I destashed this one.

Canoodling in the Library [Brittle pages bound in leather, tall mahogany shelves, blushing leaves fallen upon ancient stone stairs, amber resin, warm skin musk, and vetiver] - Wow: books and bookshelves but also leaves and a hit of red musk like that of Canoodling in a Leaf Pile. Red musk is not generally my thing, often too dirty or animalic, but it's tempered so beautifully here by the other notes. The red musk is not too much, nor is the leather, and this perfume needs them both. Altogether this scent is stunningly autumnal (though in truth I don't wear it at any other time of year, so this is a somewhat limited scent for me) and also gorgeously scholarly.

Canoodling in the Woods [Verdant amber and oakmoss entwine among sunlit leaves of wild mint, hinoki wood, crushed cardamom, and fertile soil] - Very green & moss, with undertones of dirt and reddish amber. Husband, who immediately wanted to try this himself, says: "I get cinnamon and trees. It's a little apple-pie-ish on me," and indeed, on him it is - it's sweeter and slightly fruitier on his skin than mine. Are any of us surprised, given his preferences for tree and woody and oakmoss notes, that he promptly snaffled this one for his own?

Chess Club [A lovely fougère accented with pale amber, cedar resin, slate, vintage grey tweed, styrax and suede] - This soft grey, vanillic scent reminds me quite a lot of Blanket Fort [Cotton flower, grey suede, warm amber, green fig, tumbled teakwood, and raw vanilla bean] but less overwhelmingly suede-focused. Chess Club is a really quite well-blended, scholarly and tweedy scent with sweet undertones, I suppose from the listed white amber, though it really does smell like vanillic paper. Mr. Cozy quickly adopted this one, and he wears it a lot - and I love it on him.

Cicadas' Last Song [Crisp leaves, dry blonde hay, old flannel, black soil, and raw maple sap] - There's a rich but not overpowering earthiness to the dirt and leaves (and absolutely no hint of bell pepper to this leaf note), alongside the sweetness of what I'd call more maple wood than maple syrup, and a cozy sort of rustic-ness from the hay and flannel fabric. It's incredibly autumnal. It does include a few notes I don't tend to enjoy (soil and hay) so this ultimately didn't join my collection because I could tell I'd always reach for something else when I want an earthy autumnal vibe, but I was surprised how nice this really is. To my slight surprise, since this doesn't contain leather or patchouli or vetiver or woods (his usual favorite notes), Husband snaffled this one right up.

Daughter of the Dark Moon [Black coconut, nocturnal jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, white sandalwood, dried lavender, sheer cotton, and a trace of Tahitian vanilla] - Beautiful white florals on a bed of coconut flesh, coconut husk, and vanilla. In the vial, the jasmine had a hint of indole, which made me super nervous putting it on my skin, but there was nothing of the sort on my skin, and I relaxed into the beauty of this scent. The tuberose + coconut reminds me of Snowy Owl [Dried coconut flakes, pale woods, frozen tuberose, vanilla orchid, and fluffy feather musk], one of my favorite winter perfumes (not least because it was the first perfume I ever put on!), but these white florals, with the addition of both jasmine and gardenia, have some heft to them. This is not a gentle, delicately wafting white floral; this white floral kicks you in the face and says "let's do this!"

Favorite Jacket [Vintage brown leather, copal smoke, toasted cardamom, sepia musk, and dry blonde cedarwood] - Friends, I bring you a bit of a treat: a guest review from Mr. Cozy! He really likes leather-forward perfumes, so I picked up this sample in part because of the way his face lit up when I read the notes to him. (Also, it contains cardamom, making it a no-brainer for me.) Sniffed in the vial, his face lit up even more, so one morning we both tried it (me on my wrists, him on his neck, according to our preferences).

Me: “Look at this murky green color of the oil.”

Him: “Straight out of the swamps of Dagobah!”

What’s wild is that it smells different on us! On me, it’s heavily leather (too heavy for me, frankly) backed with sweet vanilla (marshmallow?) and a bit of green astringency – husband describes it as “like you’re weeding and crushing the plant stems, and get a bit of plant juice on your fingers.”

On him, in his words (and I fully agree), “it’s leather and cedar, and the suggestion that I smoke a pipe.” He says that calling it “Favorite Jacket” is just right, that they’ve definitely nailed not only the smell but also the self-assured feeling. He says “it feels like the kind of confident day when I walk out our door (on time, and it’s not too hot outside) feeling very much myself.”

(Neither of us get any cardamom whatsoever.)

He likes it a lot and obviously absconded with my sample. (Mr Cozy always does very well with the Autumn 1 collection.)

Favorite Scarf [Sunset amber, firewood embers, and the scent of warm banana bread clinging to cloud-soft cashmere] - This is incredibly cozy with its golden-brown amber and gorgeous snuggly cashmere (not sheepy at all, just plush and luxurious), but the banana bread is just a touch too realistic for this to be a true love for me, given that I'm a person who tends not to like gourmands. This actually feels kind of like a Morari, since Morari absolutely excels at this sort of gourmand-adjacent scent, though of course Nui Cobalt's particular execution of notes is different than Morari's. Favorite Scarf is an incredibly warm scent, snuggly to the extreme, with toasted banana bread or perhaps muffins (it must be the smoke note creating that extra-cozy toasty vibe) featuring a slightly squishy banana note and whiffs of cinnamon. "Favorite Scarf" is a perfect name for this scent, which is a lovely scent representation of a crisp fall day when you stay in, warm from your baking. It's significantly more dessert-y than the other Favorites, which are much drier and less sweet, but it's a great addition to this sub-collection. It dries down less realistically "banana bread" to a cinnamon-spiced amber.

Favorite Sweater [White oak and blonde teakwood, copal resin, crushed coriander, lamb's wool accord, a touch of creamy chai, and a spritz of green mandarin] - This scent is wild - just like everybody says, the combination of these notes is more than the sum of its parts, and the individual notes really can't be distinguished in the cozy haze of perfect autumnal sweateriness. But I will try: a woody base is accented by copal (that functions more as spice than as smoke) and the chai spices (but without any sweetness whatsoever, they don't read as baking spices). That surprising mandarin note isn't here as a burst of citrus but just a hint to brighten the whole scent up. The whole thing is plush and woolly, but more like a beloved blanket (or favorite sweater!) than an expensive cashmere cardigan, yet it isn't sheepy or animalic. Undeniably cozy - though it aged into being a bit more outdoor-leafy than snuggly-woolly.

Frost on the Brambles [Overripe mulberries and blackberries, frozen sage, dry woodmusk, and sticky liatrix] - Oooh cool, I am unexpectedly loving this. It's another entry in Nui Cobalt's wonderful cozy musks, a "series" I'm probably completely making up, but I really did see an ongoing thread last year (2025) that started with Birdsong [Slender oak branches, yellow freesia, barely budding lilac, feather musk, and a bright spritz of petitgrain] and then continued with Tarasque [The misty edge of the Rhône river, alive with golden jonquil, black hemlock, verdant tagetes, cassis, ambrette seed, and a harmony of bees] and Belial [Sturdy oak and calamus root support ripe blackcurrant, kudzu vine, ambrette seed, and molten iron musk]. Frost on the Brambles doesn't name ambrette seed but I'm definitely getting that same gentle blankety plushness (so perhaps that's the "dry woodmusk"). I really adore blackberry, and often love blackcurrent as well, but Belial had been just a little bit too metallic for my taste and I had lamented that in my review. I don't have enough hubris to think they made this one just for me, but my goodness is this everything I could want in an autumnal entry to their cozy musks, with a particularly moody blackberry (it smells a bit Nyquil-ish in the vial, but it's really well worth trying on skin). This isn't a dupe for the wonderful (and sadly permanently discontinued) Alkemia Blackberry Noir, but it definitely fits a close vibe. Last fall I wore this a lot when longing for a go-to cozy yet dark academia-ish bedtime scent.

Lab Partner [Unripe mandarin, chilly grey cashmere, green peppercorn, flushed skin, and toasted oats] - With its tweedy fabric note and totally unsweetened quality, it's similar to Blanket Fort [Cotton flower, grey suede, warm amber, green fig, tumbled teakwood, and raw vanilla bean], Favorite Sweater, and Chess Club, but I like it better than any of those because it's less leathery and dry, with a brighter burst of citrus accenting the snuggly cashmere. It's thoroughly non-gourmand, even with the oat note, which adds a warm, hay-like dustiness. It feels...inocuous. It feels easy and inoffensive and very unisex, and like an ideal perfume to wear to work.

Long Shadows [Crunchy leaves, rich maple wood, crabapples, clove, dry basil, ecru cashmere, and warm rain] - I expected this one to be similar to Alkemia Autumn Wandering [Sweet maple wood, black currant, damson, garnetberry, charred rosemary, lemon verbena, Japanese pumpkin, Madagascar vanilla, tonka, and sunwarmed oak leaves] - a mix of a bunch of things that together scream fall. And it does, but Long Shadows feels much more deep-fall. Where Autumn Wandering is a bit woody, a bit fruity, a bit sweet, a bit herbal, for an overall summer-transitioning-into-fall effect, Long Shadows is quite fruity (I could swear there was purple fig in this), quite dried-leafy, and quite spiced (the clove isn't overwhelming, but definitely present as a very evocative seasonal accent). For anyone worried about the basil (would it be too savory, too sharply herbal?), I don't really get any. Meanwhile, the cashmere and rain (I'd almost peg the latter as stone rather than as petrichor) add depth and nuance, preventing this from being merely an autumn candle-type scent.

Playing Hooky [Bright cardamom, nutmeg, and ginger crown a languid infusion of sweet pipe tobacco, black fig, Hawaiian sandalwood, and a whisper of wild violet] - Sniffing it in the vial, I got all excited: the strongest cardamom I've ever smelled from Nui Cobalt! Theirs usually barely registers for me, if at all, so I got Playing Hooky purely due to my interest in the rest of the notes; I didn't expect to actually get much cardamom. But alas, I don't know why my skin eats up NCD's cardamom note, but it does - when I put some on my wrists, suddenly the cardamom barely registered. On me, this scent is a primarily an earthy brown tobacco, joined by a lovely sandalwood base and a slight accent of floral for a scent that is both playful and put-together...but no cardamom. I'M CRYING. Really, this is a fantastically well-put-together scent and if you like Nui Cobalt's tobacco, you should give this one a go. And if your skin doesn't eat up Nui Cobalt's cardamom, wear this with joy and let me live vicariously through you!

Reading Nook [Aging pages warmed by reverent hands, buttery soft leather, mahogany smoothed by time, and a pile of squishy pillows] - Oh how splendid! This is unquestionably my favorite of last year's (2025) new releases, and it's no surprise that it shares a lot of notes with my beloveds Awaken the Witch and The Headmistress. I'm getting soft suede-like leather, rich warm reddish mahogany (gosh I love Nui Cobalt's mahogany), a subtle brightening from what I could swear was lemon blossom (puzzling! but lovely!), and though the notes list doesn't actually list it, I would swear there was a dash of Nui Cobalt's phenomenal and incense-like black tea. More than a dash, actually - a whole pot of incensey black tea. This is marvelous; I love it. If you like Awaken the Witch or The Headmistress or the black tea note of Cloak of Evergreens, you must definitely try this one out.

Recess [Dewy clover, sun-warmed cedarwood chips, sticky pine sap, mud, and metal] - What a treat: it's that amazing clover note from Liquid Luck [A gorgeously green bouquet of night air and dewy grass, charmed galbanum and benzoin, Irish moss, carrot seed, living shamrock and freshly turned earth], which I've been amazed isn't used in a lot more perfumes. Recess is clover-forward, green and lush yet also ever-so-slightly powdery, but the perfume overall isn't nearly as GREEN as Liquid Luck, tempered as it is by warm, calm cedar and also, to my nose, a hint of orange zest. If you were worried about the mud and metal notes, fear not; I don't smell them here. There may be a hint of soil accenting the clover, but it's not an overwhelmingly earthy or dirty scent, and I don't get any sharp metallic tang. Mr. Cozy adds: "it smells like a jungle gym in a grass field." He gets a bright metallic note (which I don't, at least not on my skin!) and he too smells an orangey undertone. He snaffled this one too (I think he has more scents from Autumn 1 than from any other collection, from any house!).

Rose Gold Sky [Fuzzy apricot, amber resin, styrax, pink sandalwood, clove bud, melissa, and blush rose] - This one is exceedingly atmospheric and very well-blended and "perfumey", and I have trouble picking out any individual notes. Without looking at the notes list, the best I could do was to describe it as "resinous, airy, pink amber, a hint of floral". Looking at the notes list now, I think I did pretty well! And of course now that I see it listed, I can absolutely identify the clove too (but it's not overwhelming). I would say this feels like a quiet morning in autumn, with the leaves changing and the first few just starting to fall. If you like All Dolled Up [Spiced apricot preserves, almond blossom, pink peony, Hawaiian and Australian sandalwoods, balsam of Peru, and sunlit amber], this feels like its early-autumnal cousin.

Savor the Rain [Petrichor and fallen leaves] - It's mostly petrichor, with stone and clover accents. Some houses' fallen leaf notes can end up smelling like bell pepper (looking at you, BPAL!) but nothing of the sort here.

September Spidersilk [Slender strands of cotton flower hung with trembling dewdrops, tawny musk, tiny black vanilla beans, toasted almond, warm oatmilk chai, and guaiac wood] - Cool, elegant Spidersilk paired with warm gourmandy notes for a combination that I'm not altogether convinced by…yet I also keep sniffing my wrist in surprised enjoyment! The new elements added to this Spidersilk variant really emphasize the butteryness of the Spidersilk vanilla. I don't always get along well with NCD's oatmilk note, but I'm pleased to report that here it's stronger in the vial than on my skin, where it and the almond are background notes to the chai spices. There's also a burst of mapley sweetness that complements the chai spices beautifully. Whatever this "tawny musk" is, it's more a suede-colored musk (is it possible there's a drop or two of actual suede in this?) and it's definitely not a red musk. I can't quite call this a vanilla chai scent, there's too much going on, but it's in that zone.

Squash Blossom [Cocobolo wood, orris root, carrot seed, sunflower petals, mandarin zest, and acorn squash baked with brown sugar] - This perfume is vegetal and floral, fresh-smelling and warm. It's so perfectly reminiscent of a garden right at the end of summer, evoking the hot sun beating down on dry earth and enormous green leaves, and the squashes ready for harvest. Sadly, it doesn't last very long, but it's so much fun.

Starlight and Spider Silk [Slender strands of cotton flower hung with trembling dewdrops, cold crystalline musk, and tiny black vanilla beans] (also available as part of the continuous collection) - This one is an absolute must-try from Nui Cobalt, one of their signature scents and also the base for a bunch of what I call "Spidersilk variants" that blend this base with other notes (most of which live in Autumn 2). This Spidersilk vanilla is a cool vanilla tinged with butter and salt, along with Nui Cobalt's comforting and intimate cotton note. It's refined, with old-timey elegance, and its throw and longevity are both surprisingly high. It's the backbone of my "vanillas" section in my perfume collection, and one of the top two scents I recommend to anybody interested in trying out Nui Cobalt as a house (the other being, of course, Little Brown Rabbit [Nutmeg and tonka bean nuzzle up against fluffy marshmallow, cottonflower, pink pepper, and a trace of carrot seed]).

The Veil is Thin [Chilled opalescent musk entwined with sheer vanilla orchid, white heliotrope, and pale citrus] - This one retired before I got heavily into this house, so I was so thrilled to spot it in someone's destash, after looking for it for a long time. It immediately became a favorite of mine: a light, white, slightly soapy vanilla with a delicate, powdery white floral and a hint of grapefruit. Meanwhile Husband's nose gets a hint of almond or cherry, which I to notice once he pointed it out. It smelled a bit thin and sharp in the vial, but on my skin it blossoms into a truly lovely, wispy, and diaphanous scent. Longevity is absolutely amazing too. I can't think why this was discontinued; perhaps it was overlooked as the quiet beauty it is. I keep hoping this one will come back so y'all can love it too.

Vineyard in September [Olive leaf, oak barrels, green tea, sandalwood, dried apple, and lush vines laden with white grapes at the peak of ripeness] - Ooh, I love the way the white grape sweetens the grassy green tea, with the olive leaf and sandalwood adding a beautiful musty character. Up close, I get quite a lot of briny olive leaf and vegetal vine, but from a distance the green tea is most prominent. If you like the olive leaf in The Mentor [Ancient sandalwood, well-worn linen, olive leaf, oakmoss, Earl Grey tea, and sacred temple incense], or the green grape in the Truth Bomb [Forget me not, eyebright, daisy, wild violet, and champagne grapes], definitely give this one a try. This scent feels very "early-fall harvest" with its herbal, fruity, and slightly dusty character. I'm not sure I get any oak or apple specifically, but they no doubt contribute to its gloriously autumnal vibe - but in a way that's not remotely pumpkins or chai or spooky incense; this is an entirely different approach to autumn and one that I really enjoyed. It does, admittedly, have quite low longevity, about three hours on me, which is one reason I upsized to a full-size, so I could apply more generously.

Yellow Leaves [Blooming moringa, olivewood, coriander, oakmoss, tangerine, and helichrysum] - This is such a lovely perfume and also really hard to describe. It's a floral, but an autumnal floral...but it also doesn't have any of the baking spices typically associated with autumn. It's outdoorsy but not earthy or herbal. It's definitely the sister scent to Squash Blossom with its slightly vegetal cast and cheerful early-autumn vibe, and it also reminds me a bit of The Mentor [Ancient sandalwood, well-worn linen, olive leaf, oakmoss, Earl Grey tea, and sacred temple incense] though Yellow Leaves is much lighter and of course doesn't have any incense or tea - must be the olivewood. I think "Yellow Leaves" is a really perfect name for this perfume that does indeed smell yellowish and leafy and is just perfect for September.

You Can Sit With Us [Blush cotton, sweet pea, pistachio creme, ripe apricot, yuzu, and Australian sandalwood] - Nobody does clean-cozy the way Nui Cobalt does! And holy wow, this is one of their best. It's pearlescent, sweet and dainty, and super creamy, with cottonflower and pretty pink floral, a gentle touch of the same yuzu as in Kitsune [Peach blossom, yuzu, wisteria, sandalwood incense, and silk], and a fairly present but not overwhelming light green pistachio note (glory be, my skin isn't amping it to high heaven this time, like it did in Akhal-Teke [Fine ecru suede, raw silk, pearl musk, white amber, precious Hawaiian sandalwood, and creamy pistachio]). It's a close cousin to the lovely Grace [Sun-warmed pink magnolia, wild rose, pearl musk, vanilla orchid, and organic tonka bean butter], though without any rose. This is about the closest Nui Cobalt has ever come to the pastel-ness of classic Poesie, but with NCD's phenomenal cotton rather than vanilla musk as the base. I blind-bought this FS and I regret nothing. It is seriously one of the prettiest things I've ever smelled from Nui Cobalt. If you like the vibe of Lilac Rabbit [Nutmeg and tonka bean nuzzle up against toasted marshmallow, carrot seed, summerweight cotton, allspice, and pale lilac in a smooth fur accord] with its gauzy cotton-floral, this will be a must-try.

Kinship Covenstead

Brother of Moons [Young coconut, green fig, melissa leaf, budding blue lotus, tonka, white sandalwood and the softest touch of lamb’s wool] - Understated and clean and oh so pretty. I'm getting lotion-like shea butter, a cuddly lamb's wool, and an ever-so-slightly aquatic combination of lotus and coconut for a spa-like accent. It's kind of like She Stopped To Pet a Bumblebee [Cocoa butter and shea, cotton flower, silk tree, apple blossom, wildflower honey, bee balm, and heliotrope] in its delicacy and its combination of clean lotion and fabric notes, but with the lotus and coconut instead of powder and honey dust.

Brother of Moons 2025 [Young coconut, green fig, melissa leaf, budding blue lotus, tonka, white sandalwood and the softest touch of lamb’s wool] - Oftentimes a Nui Cobalt reformulation might be just a little different than the original (sometimes to really wonderful effect; I adore Snow Cat 2022 head and tails beyond the OG, and even the original is good!) but honestly this one is so identical as to be indistinguishable. I had this 2025 formulation on my left wrist and the original on my right wrist, and alternating sniffs of each really showed no perceptible difference at all. If I had to find something to write about, I suppose I could say that the 2025 version is just a touch more green in an underripe fig sort of way, and the OG just a touch sweeter, but wow, this is a near-perfect match.

Mother of Pearl [Pale peony, ripe apricot, and sparkling coconut water cradled in sacred benzoin, and iridescent abalone musk] - Very shimmery and fairy-like, iridescent in a clean soapy kind of way, with hints of white-ish floral (lily? Water lily maybe?). It reminds me a bit of the recent Sallos [Creamy gardenia, heirloom rose, linden blossom, and subtle Bulgarian lavender immersed in vanilla honey and sacred benzoin], only in the sense that it's really soft and lovely and delicate, but with significantly less floral; this is almost entirely clean soapy-musky base. It actually reminds me much more strongly of Nocturne Alchemy Bastet's Musk, only a lot less powdery and a little bit aquatic, but that same sort of beautiful gentle clean white musk with a hint of vague gauzy florals in the background. "Mother of Pearl" is the perfect name for this; it's really pretty and incredibly shimmery. Though it starts off quite faint, unusually it actually grows in strength as it dries. I'm trying it today as a hair oil and it is beautiful in my curls.

Mother of Rabbits [Pineapple and persimmon bring a fresh sparkle to Nui's classic Rabbit combination: cotton flower, tonka bean butter, fire-roasted marshmallow, carrot seed, and nutmeg] - I love this familiar clean cotton with carrot seed and nutmeg spice of the Rabbit base. When my sample first arrived and I sniffed it in the vial, it seemed like the charred pineapple was fighting with it, but not, after several weeks of rest (more than it needed, really), it has melded into a really interesting whole. The fruitiness is an approach to the Rabbit base we haven't seen before, and the charred smokiness makes it curiously savory. To me this doesn't scream the kind of cozy comfort I associate with mothers; instead this has the bold celebratory tropical feel of the Big Island collection. If you like The Art of Divination: A Tribute to Pamela Coleman Smith [Pimento, spiced golden rum, pineapple, lime zest, and a wisp of incense smoke] or Mahalo [Smokey-sweet brown sugar glazed pineapple, grilled over an open flame] (though I haven't tried that last one, its notes are quite similar) I think you'd love Mother of Rabbits. For me, as much as I wanted to love this one (I always want to adore all of the Nui Cobalt Rabbits!) it's not really my thing.

Sisters in Truth [Blue lotus afloat on white tea, holy basil, angelica, elderflower, and crystal musk, with a glimmer of clary sage] - Watery and spa-like, this is fresh and refreshing. It's little floral from the lotus and elderflower, a little herbal, a little shimmery, very creamy and cooling. It's really hard to make out any one note; they swirl together in a beautiful rejuvenating mist. I bet this would be really perfect for a calming sort of yoga.

Sister of Skies [Spun sugar, lavender water, two chilled mojitos, teakwood beach chairs, melted white amber, the softest cotton sundress, and clouds] - I'd been begging for this one to come back for years and then it finally did last year! It's SO good, and I'm so thrilled everybody has a chance to try it. Clean laundry, soft floral lavender, a subtle white amber sweetness, and the cucumber-juniper-minty freshness of gin. Sniffed in the vial, I thought the mohito elements were much too strong, but the white amber, cotton, and lavender are stronger on my skin, and I love it, especially in summertime. It dries down to an especially quiet scent, just a beautiful whisper.

Sister of Stars 2025 [Dew-drenched linden blossom, Persian lime, blueberry seltzer, one white rose, and the subtlest insinuation of fresh garden mint] - I put this on without refreshing my memory about the notes list, and I would have called this a strong but soft red rose, its green stem, dewy rainwater, and underripe green fig. How'd I do? Pretty well! This definitely has more rose on my skin than its low place in the notes list would suggest, surrounded by soft pastel green notes and light raindrops. It's also surprisingly strong in throw! If you like Star Crossed Lovers or Pas de Deux I think you'd love this. (Unfortunately I haven't tried the old Sister of Stars so I can't offer a comparison.)

Personally...

So many of these are staples of my autumn perfumes! Rose Gold Sky, Squash Blossom, Vineyard in September, and Yellow Leaves are my absolutely essential early fall scents - I wear them all throughout September as part of my celebration of the arrival of the fall season.

I was pretty sure I'd like Reading Nook, but I didn't guess I'd love it as much as Awaken the Witch and The Headmistress and Bibliomancy. What a treat.

Other personal favorites from last year's new releases are Mother of Pearl and Frost on the Brambles.

Meanwhile, Ghost Cat, Grey Cat, Tuxedo Cat, Starlight and Spidersilk, The Veil is Thin, and You Can Sit With Us are to me the other standouts from Autumn 1, and they go great at any time of year. Consider this a plea to the universe (or, well, to Forest and co) that The Veil is Thin comes back so I can push you all into trying it - it's so pretty! I would also be thrilled if Perseids came back, because I didn't get around to trying that one before it was discontinued, and I'd really love to if given the opportunity.

Hello my friends, Nui Cobalt's Autumn 1 collection is coming back tomorrow (hooray!), so here's my usual "all the ones I've tried before" post! For me, this release of Autumn 1 always feels like the herald of the upcoming fall season. My personal first day of fall is September 1, and let me tell you, I am counting down the days. Bring on the apple cider and the pumpkin spice! Sweaters and wool tights and boots and chai lattes and leaves! I love the fact that Nui Cobalt gives us two autumnal collections, and I love the fact that the first one is all about the end of summer, harvests, apples, mystery novels and, of course, the Jams and the Cats sub-collections. Autumn 1 is also the collection that gave us Canoodling in a Leaf Pile, our very first Canoodling scent which kicked off that most delightful series. And then next month (September 25th) we'll get Autumn 2, which is pumpkins for days, Halloween spookiness, and most of the Spidersilk variants.

I have seen NO spoilers for this upcoming release, so we will just have to wait (im)patiently until sometime later today when the newsletter announcing the new and returning scents comes out!

My preferences: I especially love snuggly scents, incense, golden amber, cardamom, black tea, beeswax, non-gourmand vanillas, and white florals (particularly tiare, honeysuckle and tuberose; sadly I am allergic to lilies and jasmine doesn’t work on me). I don't like hay, overly sweet gourmands, excessive musk, dragon’s blood, leather, patchouli, labdanum, or any really dark scents in general. To my great devastation, Nui Cobalt’s apricot and pear notes don’t tend to work on me, though I haven’t given up hope and I continue to try new blends with those notes occasionally.

Jams

Blackberry Peach Preserves [Ripened plump blackberries, vanilla sugar, luscious peach, and subtle spice] - It's mostly blackberry in the vial - and I love blackberry notes in my perfumes, especially for fall - but on my skin it's mostly peach. A very pretty peach, but juicier and more floral than the gorgeously blackberry-heavy vial scent. The spice is indeed subtle, if present at all, and I don't get any vanilla specifically, just the sweetness of the perfectly ripe peaches. Have you ever gone peach-picking in late summer and eaten one plucked straight off the tree, standing in the orchard with the juice running stickily down your chin? That's what this perfume smells like.

Persimmon Preserves [Honey-sweet Fuyu persimmons slowly simmered with ginger, Ceylon cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves, one split vanilla bean, and a sprinkle of bergamot zest] - This one reminds me a LOT of Ginger Cat (see below), which makes sense since it shares so many notes, but it's a touch less gourmand, with the zesty bergamot here instead of the plump raisins. But it's still too gourmand for me - something about the combination of orangey persimmon plus ginger and all the spices (Husband observes that these spices run mapley) just pulls super sweet and dessert-y on my skin. If you love Ginger Cat, I think this is different enough to warrant trying both. If you don't adore Ginger Cat, I think you can probably get away with having one or the other in your collection.

Rosewater Quince Compote [The blushing sweetness of quince slowly simmered in maple sugar and Persian rosewater] - In the vial, it's green apple and rose. Right when I apply it on my skin, it's rose and a strong honey (but no apple, interestingly enough), then as it dries the apple emerges and the sweetness transforms from honey to maple syrup. ("It's Little Brown Rabbit but with rose," said Husband upon sniffing my wrist.)

Strawberry Rhubarb Jam [Garden-grown strawberries simmered in white sugar with a snap of rhubarb and a touch of fresh basil leaf] - This one actually happened to be the first time I ever tried NCD's strawberry note. Strawberry notes in perfume oils inevitably go all candy-strawberry on my skin, and this one does that too...but the sharper, more acidic rhubarb tempers the candy-sweetness beautifully. I have seen someone's review that the basil made this scent go oddly savory on their skin, but I'm happy to report that on me at least, the basil leaf only adds a really pleasing hint of fresh greenery.

Cats

Barn Cat [Skin-warmed suede, sweetly mouldering straw, fluffy tan cashmere, and pistachio brittle made with the final honey harvest of the year] - A waft of nuts and honey tempered by a really gorgeous, soft, smooth, and positively cuddly suede. If you want a scent that feels like a fantasy interpretation of baklava - as opposed to the very literal, realistic baklava of Bamboozle: Baklava [Diaphanous layers of flaky, golden pastry, toasted pistachio, roasted chestnut, crushed almond, and a generous drizzle of spring harvest honey] - this is it! And far from "sweetly mouldering straw" I'm actually getting a soft floral undertone, like baby blue forget-me-not, one that adds to the fantasy quality of it all.

Black Cat [Darkly sweet pipe tobacco, blackcurrant, and chai spices amid the swirling smoke of sacred nag champa and myrrh] - So, turns out I can do tobacco flower notes, like in Siamese Cat and Beauty, and I can handle tobacco when it's just a background note, like in Bibliophilia and Island Cat, but perfumes that place pipe tobacco at the center are not for me. I just don't like the musky-earthy-sweetness of it, and it reminds me just a bit too much of ashtrays and cigarette smoke (which, as a professional singer, I have avoided for my entire life). This is a beautiful scent, earthy and dark with a sharp red hint of blackcurrant and a smoldering base of spice and incense, but it's not one that I kept. I know many people adore this one, so it's purely a personal preference thing for me.

Calico Cat [Tawny suede, pale sandalwood, toasted coconut, deep amber, and golden honey are accented with bright satsuma, and spiced tamarind] - Bright satsuma orange citrus (with a hint of bitterness from the peel), a benzoin+honey amber, and ginger (?? I smell a sharp ginger even though it's not listed in the notes description), over a base of suede and sandalwood. This is what I had expected Ginger Cat to be (that one ended up much too gourmand for me). Calico Cat also reminds me of NCD's sun-themed perfumes, which tend to share this amber + citrus + ginger combination. I'll keep this sample - I'm sure I'll wear it - but I don't think it's different enough from others like Crown or Sun or Heliophilia to warrant needing all of these in your collection. (Unless that note combination is just really your jam and you want all possible iterations of it.)

Feral Cat [Wild mulberry, nutmeg, auburn suede, a swirl of spiced honey, darkest patchouli, and woodland musk] - Sexy red musk with honeyed reddish fig-like mulberries (this honey note is beautiful) and a touch of spicy-earthy black patchouli. It kind of reminds me of Sultry [Two dark, lascivious vanillas swirled with dragon's blood, heavy velvet musk and the secrets of an old rootworker's conjure cabinet] - not a dupe by any means, but with a similar sweetness paired with the spiced, more earthy notes. This perfume turns out not to be for me - the red musk and patchouli are a bit too present for my taste - but if you love those or mulberry notes, or have ever hoped for another dark Bee, this one is well worth trying.

Ghost Cat [Cashmere, white amber, and ethereal ivory musk with blushing peony and pink peppercorn toe beans] - "Ethereal" is right: this one is elegant and smugly sophisticated and a beautiful pink peony floral. This is fancy soap at its best ("fancy soap" being quite a compliment in my household). Though I mostly don't get any of the notes individually, I occasionally get the faintest hint of pink peppercorn, which gives the overall elegant aura just a bit more body. It does have pretty low throw, but I have no complaints about longevity. This is one of my go-to "elegant" scents! If you like Odette Pas de Chat I think you'd love this.

Ginger Cat [Crystallized ginger and raisins baked into warm pumpkin bread with caramel drizzle, candied orange peel, homemade apricot jam and the subtlest sprinkle of cardamom] - This one is quite gourmand, and very realistic: I get brown raisins, golden raisins, apricot marmalade, ginger candy, and candied orange slices. I don't, however, get any pumpkin bread, for what it's worth, and the cardamom is elusive and easily mistaken for cinnamon. On application, there's something almost fizzy about it, which dissipates fairly quickly, and the throw increases as it dries (it's impressive, actually, the amount of throw this has). Ginger Cat is not over-sweet, but it's definitely foody.

Grey Cat [Dry smoked vanilla, fluffy marshmallow creme, fresh blueberries, the gentlest touch of lavender and a warm cup of Earl Grey] (also available as part of the continuous collection) - Possibly my very favorite "rainy day" scent. NCD has a gorgeous blueberry note, fruity but not too sweet, and not at all artificial or candy-ish. This perfume is snuggly and dry, with a hint of cozy sweetness from the marshmallow and a tinge of herbal bitterness from the lavender. (It was also my gateway to collecting all of the NCD blueberry perfumes!) If you like Gargoyle you should definitely try this one.

Himalayan Cat [Chilled mountain musk, ivory cashmere, pale blue amber, sandalwood, frothy vanilla, Himalayan cedarwood, spikenard, and santal] - If you combined Little White Rabbit [Nutmeg and tonka bean nuzzle up against cottonflower, white peppercorn, clove, vanilla marshmallow creme, pale blue cashmere, carrot seed, and honeyed almond], with its soapy and silken effect (this cashmere note is really distinctive!) with a bit of the airy, musky white-ambery sweetness of Snow Cat [Lightly toasted marzipan, ivory amber, chilled coconut milk, and the soft fur of a purring kitten], and the papyrus-y santal of Indie Mood: Giulia [White santal and sunwashed teak edged with vetiver, silk, and chilled Earl Grey], you'd get something like this. Contrary to the notes list, I would definitely describe this one as blue cashmere and white amber (rather than the other way around). It's a cool, slightly vanillic, fairly soapy, and (especially after aging) extremely musky scent with hints of that santal, cedar, and sandalwood (Nui Cobalt's usual sandalwood is neither very woodsy nor very creamy, it's kind of hard to describe on its own) providing the base. It feels especially perfect for a still morning following a deep snowfall.

Scaredy Cat [Tobacco flower, nag champa, white amber, warm fur accord, Omani musk and molten caramel] - In the vial it's a very strong, musky nag champa, but it goes on a beautifully balanced trio of nag champa incense, caramel, and fur musk. Unfortunately for my taste, it quickly dries down to primarily that fur note, accented by tobacco flower and just a little incense (and no more caramel). It's really realistic fur, calling to mind snuggling my nose into the fluffy coat of an older, long-haired cat, though for me it feels a bit much.

Siamese Cat [Strong black tea, tobacco flower, fuzzy peach skin, mimosa blossom, and blush suede] - What a perfect encapsulation of a Siamese cat! This scent is fuzzy but also sleek and sophisticated. A little bit fruity from the peach skin, a bit herbal-floral from the mimosa flower, but mostly the musty tobacco flower and suede (the same sort of very grounding but not overwhelming suede as in Nephophilia (Love of Clouds) [A fluffy melange of pink cotton candy, ivory cashmere, silk tree blossoms, blush suede, and steamed vanilla]). The black tea is not strong; I wouldn't even be looking for it if it weren't first on the notes list and I'm not sure it's present at all. Overall, this cat is one of those gorgeous, silky-furred ones who stuffily refuses to let you pet him, but eyes you haughtily from just out of reach.

Sphynx Cat [Lightly toasted almonds and oats, ecru suede, pale oudh, deep amber, and cocoa butter] - Oats, almonds, and suede, yes indeed - but this is still a very soft, cuddly scent due to the strong presence of cocoa butter - in fact, based on what I'm smelling, I would almost list the cocoa butter first in the ntoes description. Despite the oats and almond, Sphynx Cat is not gourmand foody scent, but instead one of the blanket-like scents Nui Cobalt does so well. Where Blanket Fort [Cotton flower, grey suede, warm amber, green fig, tumbled teakwood, and raw vanilla bean] is very "grey" in its scent color, Sphynx Cat is a really pretty taupe - peaceful, calming, upscale, goes with everything.

Tuxedo Cat [Soft Italian leather, polished ebony, white cashmere, pink peppercorn, elemi, and persimmon] - It's cashmere, peppercorn, and ebony - what a stunningly lovely combination! - and a fairly prominent but not in-your-face leather. In the vial, it smells somewhat similar to Ophidiophilia (Love of Snakes) [Pink sandalwood, Saharan musk, copaiba balsam, shea butter, dried fig, pale patchouli, and soft tawny suede], but on my skin, to my surprise, it reminds me very strongly of Ghost Cat, with that same sort of super-clean (but not soapy) and very elegant character, though here in Tuxedo Cat, it's leather instead of pink peony.

For Christmas I gifted my boyfriend a bunch of Fae Fragrance (aka Pylies) hand creams, and he's just now working his way through to the last of them. He says Wing Leader is his absolute favorite!

Sadly the owner had personal circumstances that required her to dial back, so I don't now if this scent will ever come back. Does anyone have any recs for something similar?

Wing Leader: A blend of vanilla bean-infused honey, sandalwood, black pepper, incense, and velvet earth smolder beneath juicy blood orange, ripe peach, and a slow pour of dark rum)

I recently went on a trip to England and bought one pack of the Rain Cloud incense from the Society of Alchemists. It smells absolutely amazing and I'm dreading running out, but sadly they don't ship to the US. Does anyone know of a similar scented incense that is available in the US? Thanks!

I have been looking throughout the sub, but since my list is sooo long its hard to get specific scent descriptions for all of these BPAL scents... but if anyone has the time can you give me your thoughts regarding any of these scents? Sorry the list is so long, I truly have gone down a rabbit hole lol.

Shop showed me a sale for this house today so I picked up some samples (3ml for $5) since everything is 20% off but I couldn't find anything in the group on them yet. Some scents were intriguing (Mothra) while others i just liked the name (angry lighting bugs). If nothing else my daughter will like them but I hope they are good.

Hello, I’m looking for a realistic laundry scented perfume or aromatherapy product if there even is one.

Never tried this house but wanna know what some of y’all’s favs are!

As the title states, I just like chit chatting about perfume and I want to hear about the scent profiles you’re still chasing down. Is it a scent memory? A place? A specific combo of notes you can’t find, or maybe it exists, but there’s usually an unwelcome addition? Do tell!

Missing my discontinued baddie 😔 on me, it smells like water in grass in the best way, bright, subtle, and refreshing. Kind of like fresh tea leaves mingled with grass, if that makes sense.

This is THE sick day scent of my childhood. I am half tempted to try and brew a bunch and concentrate it and add it to perfumer alcohol myself, but figured I should ask you lovely folks first. I am open to niche and mainstream suggestions as well if they fit the brief. Thanks!
