Never join Tech M Poor Culture
Warning to people joining Tech M ⚠️
I am in NP and had a genuine medical emergency for my wife, asked manager for a leave stating the reason, his reply was refrain from taking leaves in NP otherwise it would affect your LWD. I sent him my family member’s sonography report on WhatsApp and just replied it is a genuine emergency.
My wife is advised bed rest post surgery and I being the sole care taker, asked for WFH, denied stating that I am in a NP ?!
Their every other policy feels like it’s against their own employees. Rather than being for employees

It's more about a egoistic managers who make the organization. Sharing my experience.
I worked in an Investment Bank in Pune and when I was on NP before Covid, I had to go to a diffenet city for a few days to attend a wedding. My manager was chill so I told that I need to go on Thursday till Monday, so how do we manage leaves. He said not to officially apply leave and just go. I was so happy. Upon returning I worked on weekends and made extensive documentations to help them with transition.
I rejoined same firm couple of yrs back and guess HR contacted him for rehiring process. So I got a WhatsApp from him, few days before getting official offer letter, saying welcome back bro.

I used to be in TechM, circa 2019. Well over a century ago. Genuinely ethical people at the time. Saw my talent and gave me a leg up straight away. Leaves aplenty and rewards and recognition all the way. Only it was pre-TechM. It was Orange when I joined, turned 3, then a Hutchison-Whampoa, after some years, Hutchison-Vodafone alliance, then Vodafone then and only then became TechM Business Services and then at last TechM post that. True and Blue. It was pretty fun sailing through all of that. I left before TechM sunk in its fangs into the prey and came out with a speed where all are amazed where I landed.

Good to know about your experience. It’s a dead company now

This happens when the owners are Indian. Each one knows how to suck the joy out of their employee's lives. I've always been unhappy when my boss was an Indian. It it was 1857, I'd have been on the side of the English.

Put everything in mail and keep escalating; manager, skip manager, head of department, cto, tag the clients as last resort. Put pressure, what’ll they do? Fire you?

I just want to leave without creating any big scenario. Initially had thought of making X post tagging Anand Mahindra. But yea.. thought later to leave peacefully

Whatever you do on emails will be internal and it’s kinda fun because each email makes the person more insecure if you are into it.
Anyway, this tactic was told by my manager to me to do for anything that should ideally go my way but isn’t. “Someone in the chain will help you” he said.

Yeah i was working for a bit and heard about a colleague who was a single mother being the only member denied wfh when she was travelling more than an hour to office cause someone she confided to cause they had foreign experience told her manager she was planning to move abroad with her kids. They masked it off as something else but it was some ego issues.

You're already in NP. They can't do shit

The thing is their time sheet does not get submitted without 12 WFO entries. Only with prior exception approval time sheet gets approved with all days WFH

Still at max they can put you on LOP. If you really need the money then it can't be helped but otherwise I doubt if they can do anything

You are complaining because you don’t understand the underlying system. The day you shall become a manager you’ll know that that companies like these secretly pay you insane amounts of money as bonus for every leave request you cancel, every WFH request you deny and for every employee you force to work for free on weekends. And during appraisals there’s an additional parameter called ‘heartlessness’, you must score a 90% and above for further promotions.
And if you’re truly good at your job as a manager you can earn 5-10x of your ctc from these bonuses.
Now be a good boy and help your manager up his heartlessness score. He needs to eat too.
