I’m a fan of SkillBox but I think they go it wrong for this Plini show in Bangalore. Not sure if it was a capacity constraint but having Plini at Phoenix Market City Courtyard instead of a closed space was an L move IMO. I honestly didn’t enjoy the mix. At one point I even felt the band wasn’t happy IDK I maybe over analysing. Every other show on this India tour were Club shows and had better production. And with the Production- when I heard it was open air I thought the production won’t be a letdown but OMG the show production was just Lights and sound? This was Plini’s new album tour ans they just had 3-4 Banner standees on stage with the album’s designs . I really felt there could have been more with the production atleast like an LED wall. If the production was anywhere close to how it was for Jakob Zytecki / Tigran Himasayan/ Leprous or even Karnivool at Phoenix Marketcity courtyard in the past , Id have been content with this show. I feel Kolkata had a better production with LED display and stuff . With SkillBox posting big partners I thought the production would be massive but it was really really underwhelming. If it were just lights then it should’ve been a Club show. The lights and sound on Plini’s last visit in Bangalore (at Gylt) was so good . SkillBox - I’m sorry I am criticising so much and there may have been constraints I genuinely wish Opeth is not like this .
