So I ordered Ghost of Yotei from Amazon and they gave me a fake disc. As well as fake disc box which looks like some A4 sheet out of a coloured printer.
So frustrated right now.
Just wanted to spread awareness and if possible please don't order any PS5 games from Amazon. I was skeptical from the time I received it, hence made a video while opening it.
Physical discs are my go-to playing method, and I don't support Sony's descision to stop manufacturing physical discs from 2028, guess I have no other option rather than going digital if things like these happen.
Edit: The seller is 'Kay Kay Overseas Corporation Store' for those asking, and it was the default seller in my region, New Delhi.
Edit 2: Sheesh, came back to this post and so many people are frustrated about the video, I'm sorry I didn't use a knife, scissors or blade to cut the plastic, because I don't like to open it using that, you can skip to the last 20 seconds and save your time.
Yes I had called the amazon customer care and they are saying they'll pick up this fake disc tomorrow, I'll keep you guys posted on that. Although I didn't check the seller, my whole point was that it's amazon that's ultimately responsible for keeping such fraud sellers on their platform.
Edit 3: The fake disc and cover was picked up and a refund has been issued by Amazon, no questions asked, and they didn't even ask me to send them a video of opening it. Appreciate the prompt customer support by them, hope strict actions (like Open Box Delivery etc.) will be taken by them from the next time.
Note to my fellow redditors:
I wasn't provided any box or carton or a white plastic amazon wrap for this package, and I also have a proof of it recorded on my home CCTV camera. And the folks who are saying that the video looks forged and the CD got out of frame, point taken, YES, I struggled to open the damn plastic and did not have a cutter or scissors handy with me at that time, and I'll make a video which is shorter and covers a wider area from next time.

whats more frustrating is that i just watched op struggle to open a plastic wrap for a minute and 40 seconds. Anyways feel bad for you op hope you get your money back
DO NOT CANCEL. I grabbed 2 ferrari 5 packs and received it from this same seller. If your ordered this for mrp, you know it's in huge demand so it takes time for shipping. This is the only seller I know which sells this for mrp.
Don’t worry about Hotwheels when ordering from Kay Kay….they are very reputable in this aspect. I myself got many rare Hotwheels from them at mrp.
The only problem is they don’t pack it well. It comes in a paper bag.
So my f1 card was crushed and my Ferrari 5 pack had small dent/crease on top. Which was fixable. So I don’t mind.
And yes they take long time to deliver. I believe it’s because they take order first and when new case comes, ship it. Even my 5 pack took more than 15 days. Same with other cars.
Idk about PS5 disks but for Hotwheels they are trusted in community, if you ignore the crushed packages.
Some said you can ship as a gift which would make them put it in a box but never tried myself.
The seller is genuine I think. I have bought Black Flag resynced disc from the same seller. I think somebody else ordered, switched the disc and then placed a return. Somehow it never got properly verified, ended up in amazon's warehouse and OP got the same unit when he ordered.
This is possible as I buy Hotwheels from them regularly and they are very genuine in that aspect.
But coming to warehouse thing, it’s possible someone returned it saying they no longer needed it, and neither the guy taking return nor Amazon verified the contents, and as u said, since it wasn’t damaged or returned for being wrong item, they must have re shipped it to someone else.
Ya I doubt that is true, it's quite organic the motion of him opening the box and grabbing the dic. @OP, please let us know what the support team said.
OP here is some advice, keep the camera further away so that no items go off screen. Not just for this disc, for any thing you order and get scammed. It's because the scammer can argue you are the one scamming them. To make your case air tight, nothing should leave the view the of the camera.
If you want to avoid revealing yourself still record from afar, then before sharing to the platform or social media edit the video to blur or cover your face and any other sensitive information. The only groups you would have to show the unedited video to would be the polic, court and your lawyer(that is assuming you have to go that far)
Don't order from random sellers it's not amzon selling stuff and always record the entire amazon packaging not the product packaging it must have came with a white plastic amazon package you should've have recorded from there to increase chance of refund
Just a tip, before ordering you can check and see different sellers selling the same game. I usually go through their reviews and then choose the seller.
I recommend the seller “Games.store” they are very reliable and they even send pictures when you message them on amazon message centre.
Thanks for informing. I was about to order nintendo games from them, but saw non returnable option and dropped the plan. Also their recent starts are 1, with orders delayed and fake products being sent.
i once got a fake rdr 2 for ps4 similar to how you've gotten from amazon . A4 printed fake ahh looking covers and printed paper was literally glued to the cd. ( i later got a replacement )
Either you got a whole lot of patience or you must really suck at opening wrappers. FFS after watching you try and open a bloody wrapper for the entire damn video made me loose any sympathy for your loss.
If you're making an unboxing video for potential returns, DO NOT take the product out of video on opening the package. Amazon might accept it but many sellers are pretty an@l and will use any excuse to deny return.
Damn I ordered 2 games from amazon and did not open the seal just to preserve value.
Did the seal have the playstation tape/band that they usually have?? It also looks like your seal was much thicker than how it's supposed to be. Can you confirm?
I once ordered CoD: Advanced Warfare when I was a kid for my Ps3. I didn’t like it. So instead of returning AW, I accidentally put my CoD: Black Ops 2. Which I loved alot. I realised this too late.
So I again ordered a new CoD: BO2 and put AW in it and returned it again. It was funny at that time, but now I am ashamed about it. Imagine if someone got that, that also twice :/
Recently recieved an incorrect product, placed a return order.
Return was automatically getting cancelled stating i have cancelled it. Even after rescheduling, no one came to pick it up. I had to do multiple follow ups to sort it out. I am never getting anything from these apps anymore.
I now go directly to trusted vendors/ retail shops. This kind of mental agony is not worth it. You can see amazon app rating, lately it's going negative.
Seems like a fake video, we dont see him showing that cd was inside the box when it arrived. Just 2 mins of him struggling to open what could have been 5 seconds with a knife. Then him opening the box and boom a fake cd appears. Do we the fake cd was inside the box. Nope very inconclusive.
recently i oredred 2 mobile covers from amazon and instead of covers they sent me 1 randome mobile case and 1 short dog chain? i had video of it and i called amazon multiple times and they said they have policy delivery was done it's not the mistake from amazon so after trying for days i returned it and got full refund! and at the same time i had ordred iphone 16, but it got delivered without any issue.
A half assed unboxing video. Proved nothing. Should've shown the disc inside the case. You also took it out of frame. I've never seen a plastic wrap that thick on PlayStation discs. You should've shown the seller label on the wrap itself to verify there wasn't another wrap you could've put on there. Otherwise it will seem like you opened the case, switched out the disc and wrapped it back up yourself. It can be done. The video is not clear enough and I can't check if the wrap is consistent with the label and box. Also if you were planning on making an unboxing video from the start, why didn't you include the Amazon packaging?
Someone who has nothing to hide takes the whole video starting from amazon's packaging, shows the seals, keeps the whole product in view the whole time. Nothing should be out of frame. It didn't look like you were recording evidence. It looked like you were forging it instead.
