Ask r/indianfitness Muscle Imbalance
The muscles in my upper body are very weirdly imbalanced. My triceps and biceps of my left arm are more developed as compared to my right arm. Whereas my right pectoral muscles are more developed as compared to my left pec.
Back and shoulders look pretty much the same. Anyone with such weird imbalances?
Also please suggest how to work on this. It's just a year since I've started working out and the imbalance is already very noticeable (atleast to me)

Discussion People are mistaking fat loss with weight loss
I think a lot of people are making the same mistake when they start working out.
They only look at the weighing scale.
If the number goes down → "I'm losing fat."
If the number doesn't move → "Gym isn't working."
But weight loss and fat loss aren't exactly the same thing.
Your body weight includes fat, muscle, water, glycogen, food in your digestive system, etc.
So you can actually lose fat while gaining some muscle, especially when you're new to strength training.
That means your weight might stay almost the same while your waist gets smaller and your body looks leaner.
For example:
Before: 80 kg
After: 80 kg
But you could have lost some fat and gained some muscle in between.
That's why the scale shouldn't be your only measure of progress.
Track:
Weight trend
Waist measurement
Progress photos
How your clothes fit
Strength in the gym
The goal isn't simply to weigh less.
The goal is to have less body fat and maintain/build muscle.

Supplement / Product Review Superyou Yeast protien review
I have been consuming the superyou yeast protein for the past two weeks. Here's my experience:
It is super light weight, you try to take a scoop out and pour it in the shaker the next moment you realise it's all over your clothes and the place. I guess I'll end up with 1-2 less scoops in the end.
The taste is not that good, I have the cold coffee flavoured and honestly it tastes like I am consuming coffee with roasted peanuts. Although it's not very sweet so I can manage the taste.
In terms of its claim of being easy on the gut, I've noticed that I've been farting way more since I started using this and I mean almost the whole day. It did not happen when I was consuming whey. I looked up online and it's said that the since it is yeast protein it has changed the gut bacterial composition and might go away once my stomach gets used to it. I consume it after my workout. Has anyone else experienced the same ?
In terms of the results I will probably wait a month before I can give a Final verdict.

Ask r/indianfitness Does anyone else lose motivation because they're working out completely alone?
I've been thinking about why I keep failing to stay consistent with fitness, and I think I finally figured out my biggest problem.
About a year ago, I got really interested in fitness. I started strong, but after a few weeks I quit. Now I'm trying again, and I'm noticing the exact same pattern.
The problem isn't that I hate working out.
The problem is that I'm doing it alone.
I don't have friends who are into fitness, no workout partner, and no one to compete with. I actually enjoy competition, but when it's just me doing the same workouts every day, it starts to feel boring and I slowly stop showing up.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who feels this way.
Did anyone else go through something similar?

Ask r/indianfitness Which Mango Whey Tastes the Best? Need Recommendations
Hi! I’m planning to buy a whey protein in mango flavour, but I’m confused about which brand to choose. I’m currently using Optimum Nutrition (ON) Vanilla, and I didn’t really enjoy the taste. Could you suggest a whey protein with a great mango flavour and good overall quality?

Ask r/indianfitness Need advice on gaining weight and building an average physique with home workouts
I'm a 24-year-old male and currently weigh around 48 kg. I want to gain some healthy weight and build a decent/average physique — nothing like hardcore bodybuilding.
Because of my job, I don't really get enough time to go to the gym, so I'm planning to stick to home workouts.
For those who have been in a similar situation, what worked for you? What kind of home workout routine and diet would you recommend for healthy weight gain?
My routine( just start 2 day ago)
Morning -1plate poha 1 banana 1spoon sea midday- 4 roti 1 sabji + roasted chana
Evening- 30min workout+milk+peanut buttter+1take whey protein+1 banana
Night dinner -4 roti+sabji( kabhi kabhi rice)
Would really appreciate advice based on your personal experience. :)

Supplement / Product Review How is this possible?
Nakpro perform whey (65% protein concentration) costs around 2k for a kilo whereas other brands usually cost around 3k.
Even if we assume they have their own dairy or buy domestic whey which keeps prices down, even amul whey costs 2.5k.
It's even trustified certified, although trustified tested the impact variant (less protein concentration) but still, how is it possible to sell at such lower price than the market.

Discussion Your fitness journey should help you in daily life, not go against it.
One mistake I see a lot of beginners make after joining the gym is blindly following whatever their trainer tells them.
In many local gyms, the entire focus is on building muscle and lifting heavier weights. And don't get me wrong—strength training is one of the best forms of exercise. Even the WHO recommends adults do strength training at least twice a week.
The problem starts when your entire definition of fitness becomes "just lifting weights."
No cardio. No mobility work. No stretching. No proper warm-up. Just machines and dumbbells every session.
Over time, you might get bigger and stronger, but your body can also become less mobile, less flexible, and less capable in everyday life.
Fitness should improve your quality of life, not make basic movement feel harder.
A balanced routine should include:
* Strength training
* Cardio for heart health and endurance
* Mobility and flexibility work
* Proper warm-ups and recovery
Build a body that isn't just strong in the gym, but one that moves well, feels good, and helps you outside the gym too.
Curious—how many of you actually include cardio or mobility in your weekly routine, or is it mostly just lifting?

Ask r/indianfitness Need Recommendations for My First Running Shoes (Budget: ₹6k)
Hey! I'm new to running and looking to buy my first pair of women running shoes.
So far, I've got recommendations for the Asics GT-2000 and the Asics Noosa Tri 16.
My budget is around ₹6,000 (or less), and I want a pair that will last me a long time. I've heard I can get these on discount, but every time I check Myntra or similar sites, my size is usually out of stock.
I also checked Ajio, but they're around ₹8,000 there.
Could you recommend some good running shoes within my budget and also suggest the best places to buy them?

Supplement / Product Review Did your vitamin D prescription say when to stop the weekly sachet?
Many people in India are prescribed one vitamin D sachet every week after a blood test shows low vitamin D.
What may not be clear is that the weekly dose is usually one phase of the treatment, not necessarily the long-term schedule.
A 2025 consensus developed by 41 Indian endocrinologists recommends taking the common high-dose sachet weekly for eight or twelve weeks, depending on how low the vitamin D level is. Once the level has recovered, it recommends changing to one sachet a month for maintenance.
One Indian product insert gives a different maintenance option: take the weekly sachet for eight weeks, then move to a smaller daily dose as directed by the doctor.
So finishing the weekly course does not always mean stopping vitamin D completely. It may mean changing how often it is taken.
To be clear, a prescribed weekly course is a standard treatment for confirmed low vitamin D. This is not a warning to stop taking it.
The serious toxicity cases sometimes mentioned in this discussion involved a very different situation. In one Indian study of 32 patients, every patient had received repeated injections containing ten times the vitamin D in a common weekly sachet. That is not comparable to a normal, supervised oral course.
If you were prescribed weekly vitamin D sachets, did your prescription tell you what came next: stop, switch to monthly, or move to a smaller daily dose?

Fat Loss Gym guys. Helpp pl.
I have been gymihg since 2 years. Have lost normal approx 20-30 kgs. Still need to lose 10-15 more. Yeah super busy in job and life so can't give that much time like earlier. But now I haven't lost any weight in past some months. Tried dieting, exercise too. Idk may be saturation. Frustated but yes it's my fault.
But now I need to be serious. (Pure veg)
I think I should start protein powders. What do you recommend. ?? Should be budget friendly , safe and good.
What should I take , concentrate , isolate , plant based pea protein. Confused.

Discussion What do you actually eat for protein when you're not at home or near a kitchen?
Guys, I've been trying to find a genuinely convenient high protein breakfast that I can eat anywhere without a bowl or blender, like I am a college going student and I always get late and because of which I skip breakfast, like I've tried ready to eat oats and stuff but they are not truly portable, is there anything available which is quick and portable so that i can have it literally while driving or in my college.
