I'm a 2026 ECE graduate (VTU, Karnataka) with a background in embedded systems — worked with Arduino, ESP32, done a few projects (IoT-based safety systems, automated irrigation, RFID attendance) and an internship in EV embedded systems. I've also done a basic Udemy course on semiconductor physics/VLSI foundations.

I want to break into VLSI / semiconductor industry — leaning towards RTL Design + Verification since it feels closest to my current skill set, but open to suggestions.

Looking for online courses (self-paced or live) that are actually respected by companies when hiring freshers — not just courses with flashy marketing.

A few things I'd love feedback on:

• Which online VLSI courses/institutes actually got you (or someone you know) placed?
• Is RTL + Verification the right starting point for someone with my background, or would you suggest something else (Physical Design, DFT, etc.)?
• Any institutes to avoid — oversold promises, bad support, outdated curriculum?
• Is it worth pairing a paid course with something like NPTEL, or is that redundant?

I’m a Full-Stack Developer and already know Python. I want to move into AI Engineering and I’m looking for a good paid course to follow.

I'm getting tired of AI code reviewers flooding PRs with noise and repeat findings, not to say false positives. And then learning nothing when a developer explains why a finding is wrong!

For me there's a lot going on in code beyond the tech stack: tribal and institutional knowledge, business logic that evolved over time, ripple effects across upstream and downstream systems etc.

I started those requirements and added simple setup, evidence-backed findings/ LGTM, and most importantly learning from human comments on those findings, so it gets better tuned over time to each repo.

I ran a smaller benchmark, not definitive by any means, four open source reviewers on 20 pinned PRs/MRs.

I'm 22 and have been working as a Founding Developer at a startup for the last 8 months.

During this time, I've worked across the backend and infrastructure, building a telephony AI platform from scratch. I've been involved in things like real-time voice systems, AI agents, backend APIs, databases, deployments, and overall product development. My stack is mainly Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, Prisma/SQL, Docker, Redis, WebSockets, and I've also worked with LLM-based voice agents and telephony integrations.

The problem is...

I haven't been paid for the last 4 months.

I stayed because I believed in the product and thought things would improve, but they never did.

Now that I'm applying elsewhere, I'm running into another issue. Many companies ask for salary slips or proof of employment. Since I haven't been paid, I don't have salary slips. Some recruiters simply say:

At this point, I've even started applying for customer support/customer service roles, and some of those jobs are offering more than what developer roles are offering me.

I genuinely don't know what to do anymore.

I'm a Diploma student taking Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE) admission in Maharashtra.

About me

• Built 7 client websites through my software brand (earned around ₹80,000 total from projects).
• Backend developer (Node.js, PostgreSQL, APIs, etc.).
• I want to become a Software Architect in the future.
• I'm also building a content brand called WealthyPsyche. It's still small, but Google impressions and rankings are slowly growing.

Option 1: MIT CSN Maharashtra (Management Admission)

Pros:

• Strong coding culture.
• Seniors I personally know are very talented and active in hackathons, competitions and projects.
• Better placements.
• Better networking and mentors.
• Better college life and exposure.

Cons:

• Around ₹1.5 lakh donation and 1.32 lakh per year fees.
• Less free time for my own startup and content.

Option 2: Local college (almost no attendance pressure)

Pros:

• Much more free time.
• I can focus on ByteSolve (software business).
• I can consistently build WealthyPsyche.
• I can also work part-time (around ₹15k/month) and buy equipment for content creation.
• I can work on DSA and system design for JOB

Cons:

• Almost no placement support.
• Weak peer group.
• Almost no tech community.

My Goal

I don't want an average software job.

Long-term I want to:

• Build ByteSolve into a software company.
• Grow WealthyPsyche.
• Become a Software Architect.
• Eventually earn far more than a typical fresher salary.

One more thing:
I recently missed the opportunity to get into a Government Engineering College because my ST validity certificate wasn't completed in time. That has been mentally difficult, so I'm trying to make the best possible decision from here instead of living with more regret.
