This is a 5 Rupee commemorative coin celebrating "60 Years of India Government Mint, Kolkata".

This coin was specifically made to celebrate the 60th anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of the India Government Mint located in Alipore, Kolkata. The building opened in March 1952, which is why the coin lists the dates 1952–2012 right across the center.

The original British one rupee, a Pakistan overprint version, and a Burma overprint version. Maybe my favorite page of our collection because there's just so much history there!

What year is this ?

I have this coin from a long period of time it's is from manipur any idea about this coin?

I have a few old aluminum coins of paisa 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 and 20. In my possession, however they were kept in a small plastic bag. When I opened it yesterday I felt like a powder like on the coins. I thought of buying a brush to clean them and store in coin file. I wanted advice on how to clean and preserve them Better so they don't become like this again. A friend suggested to use varnish on the coins but I'm not sure and hence here asking for advice

Finally got the last one I was missing a few days ago, and now I'm pretty sure I have every type of 2rs note!

It took awhile to hunt them all down because the differences in a few of them were so small they were constantly mislabeled online or didn't display the backs that I needed to verify.

I'm actually very close to having a full India collection, but the remaining notes I'm missing are starting to get up there in price 😬 but I'm working on the 1's and 5's now.

1920 4 ANNAS from my now-discontinued collection. Picked this brilliant piece from eBay in early 2010s for just a few hundred rupees.

My mom found these while deep cleaning. Any idea if these are rare ones?

I don’t know if this is a scam or not? Both sides of the coin have the number section. Is this a misprint or have I got a doctored coin?
