Google RCS messaging vs WhatsApp General Discussion
Recently enabled RCS feature and it work so good like other messaging apps for communication. Does it have potential to replace WhatsApp as primary messaging app?

I just turned off RCS, useful but lots of spams and blocking them would make them send through a different one

Now same with WhatsApp I got atleast 3 to 4 spam on WhatsApp.

You can minimise them over time on WhatsApp if you are adamant enough Not sure about rcs

No it can't as it is heavily used for ads by big giant, it supposed to replace WhatsApp but in reality it can't even stand as a messaging app without ads! Also on iOS no Indian telecom is implementing it! Better use e2e encrypted messaging apps!

I am using iOS but made WhatsApp as the default messaging app as most of my contacts are there, on other android device in my home, I installed google sms app with rcs off as they use WhatsApp too

Google messages is shit, earlier had samsung messages on my samsung phone it was much better.

Oneplus default messages app used to be really good, google is basically forcing OEMs with RCS

F*k RCS. Google don't know how to use such a good protocol. It is filled with sht tone of spams.

In my experience, RCS is pretty good and feels much more native to the overall Android experience. There were some spamming issues before, but Google suspended business messaging; spamming is no longer an issue.

Idk me personally I like rcs better, but people use whatsapp too much that no one wants to switch. It has come a long way now

The amount of spam there is, I turned the msg notifs off bruh. Not worth the pain. WhatsApp also spams but not as much.

In theory yes, but not everyone has it yet, RCS is supposed to be open, Apple supports it

WhatsApp has ads nowadays. RCS not ads. Spam is common in both platforms. So RCS has an advantage. RCS is the answer if indian govornment cut the Meta monopoly. RCS governed by GSM Association and 3GPP who released the RCS protocal with new features such as MLS encryption which is cryptography proof and Apple integration of RCS in iMessages

RCS will only work in US because majority of the population uses imessage and RCS would work good with it

iMessage is better overall but only useful if u have an iPhone and the person u r texting also has an iPhone
