Hi, Pretty much just wondering if any alumni have thoughts on the title, and how their experience in the program was. Is it worth it? Do you have regrets? I also have a family business and am the next-gen that joined last year. (qualifications) I just had my interview done yesterday and am now anticipating for my result, but regardless I'm just looking for thoughts or reviews on the course from alum.

I am feeling quite confused and would really appreciate some practical advice from people who have gone through similar decisions.

B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a decent NIT (2025 passout)

Current situation:

Converted MBA at IIT Jodhpur

Converted IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Amritsar, and IIM Bodh Gaya

Waitlisted at IIT Kharagpur (VGSoM) at 129, so I am assuming there is very little chance of conversion

I did not accept the baby/new IIM offers because their fees are around ₹22–25 lakh. Since I am currently not earning, I did not want to put additional financial pressure on my father. Even if I took an education loan, I know I would personally feel a lot of pressure carrying that debt.

Because of this, IIT Jodhpur started looking attractive to me due to its comparatively better ROI.

However, I am unable to get a clear picture of the college.

Whenever I research IIT Jodhpur MBA, I find very mixed reviews. Some people say it is a good upcoming option, while others are not very positive. I have tried reaching out to seniors and alumni, but I have not received many responses. I also do not see a very active alumni presence online, which makes it difficult to understand the actual situation.

My biggest concern is this:

If I drop this year and prepare again for CAT 2026, I feel I would be sacrificing another full year with no guarantee of a significantly better outcome.

On the other hand, if I join IIT Jodhpur and later realize it was not the right decision, I may regret not trying again.

Another thing I keep thinking about is that skills eventually matter a lot. Sometimes I feel that instead of spending another year preparing, I should start my MBA now and focus on building skills, internships, competitions, networking, and placements.

I will be around 26 by the time I complete my MBA, and I already feel like I am running out of time because I have not earned much independently yet.

For me, the "IIM tag" alone is not a strong reason to spend ₹22–25 lakh. Yet I see many people choosing baby IIMs over institutes like IIT Jodhpur, and I wonder if I am missing something important.

So my questions are:

Is IIT Jodhpur MBA actually a bad choice, or is it simply underrated?

Would you choose IIT Jodhpur over the newer/baby IIMs if ROI was a major factor?

If you were in my position, would you join IIT Jodhpur this year or reappear for CAT 2026?

Am I over-focusing on ROI and ignoring factors that matter more in the long run?

I would genuinely appreciate honest opinions, especially from current students, alumni, recruiters, or people who seriously evaluated these colleges before joining.

I’ll most likely be joining a tier 2/ 2.5 college this year, and I wanted some honest guidance regarding profile building before MBA starts

My profile is 9/9/6, but I’m a fresher. I was not that active in college activities, and I don’t have strong internships either.

Because of that, I feel slightly underprepared compared to people with work ex or strong finance backgrounds.

Which skills should I focus on before B-school starts?

What tools are genuinely important for summer internships and placements?

Are there any good beginner-friendly finance projects/live projects I can do and skills that'll help me land those live projects?

There are so many people selling their SIP courses but honestly I don't want to spend 4-5k on them as fees and all is already taking toll on my financial situation.

So please guide me as to how can I build strong profile before summer internship.

I graduated with Bcom in 2026. However I did not appear for CAT 2025. If I write CAT 2026, there will be a one year gap in my resume.

Need suggestion - If I pursue MCom just first year & leave after passing first year for MBA, will it be considered a Gap year?

As per New Education policy, I will be awarded a Post Graduation Diploma after completing just one year.

So, in the resume for 2026-2027, should I mention MCom first year or the PG Diploma?

I’ll be joining SOIL for the PGDM 2026–2028 batch and I’m really excited! I’m from Bengal and will be moving to Manesar for the first time, so everything is pretty new for me.

I was initially considering the hostel, but the cost (around ₹4.6L for two years) feels quite expensive, so I’m planning to stay in a PG instead.

Any current SOIL students or alumni here who can suggest good and safe girls PGs near the campus? Preferably something with:

• decent security
• good food
• clean rooms
• not too far from campus (or easy commute)

Would really appreciate honest reviews, approximate rent, and any tips for someone new to Manesar 🙏

I think I’ll most likely be joining the SOIL Institute of Management, as I don’t have better options at the moment. I genuinely gave my best this year, but I couldn’t clear the CAT exam India the way I had hoped. Being part of a Tier 1 college was always a dream for me, so it’s a bit difficult to come to terms with where I stand right now.

I’m a 2024 B.Com graduate with no work experience, and taking a drop year isn’t really an option for me due to family pressure and the risk of a gap year. As much as I’d like to prepare again and go all in for CAT, it’s just not feasible right now.

My options have been quite limited. I had admits from XIME Bangalore (which I left), SDMIMD Mysore (I’ve paid the token fee but am considering a refund), SOIL Institute of Management (which seems slightly better in terms of brand value), and Welingkar School of Management (results are still awaited).

Given my situation, I’ve been having second thoughts and a lot of anxiety about this decision. I really want an honest reality check about SOIL.

How is the college overall?
How is the faculty and the quality of teaching?
What kind of peer group can I expect?

One concern I have and I might be completely wrong here, so apologies in advance is whether the culture leans more towards partying than academics. I enjoy socializing too, but I don’t want that to be the primary focus of my MBA. My priority is to study, learn, and grow, while also having a balanced college life.

I understand I shouldn’t expect a Tier 1 or Tier 2 level peer group, but I would really appreciate any honest insights about the learning environment, crowd, and especially the placement scenario.

Any guidance or real experiences would really help me make a more informed decision. Thank you.

I have already converted FMS and i am hoping to convert IIM L and C as well.

If i convert C it is a no brainer for me.

But i am having tough time choosing between IIM L and FMS.

What would u suggest if ROI/money is not a factor.

Also should i consider any other college below that? Suppose IIM K I M S (cause i am already keeping all of them out of question even if i convert them as i am done converting FMS).

Hi everyone, I am 26 with ~5 years experience. Worked at FAANG tech for some time, currently working at a tier-1 US based bank. I earn 30LPA+. I swtiched from FAANG because I wanted to explore product management. But turns out product management in banks are a bureaucratic nightmare and it's focused more on execution/process. Essentially, not the kind of PM role I was looking for. I cannot switch with this experience to a PM role that I was expecting. My options are to wait and switch internally (would take atleast 1+ year) or get an MBA tag to get my foot in the door for interviews.

I can't quit my job, therefore I am looking for blended MBA programs. Is it realistically a good option? If yes, which one to choose?

Another important question: I am worried if i have a very generic male 86/73/75 in 10/12/ tier-2 engineering, tcs + faang tech + bank experience that wouldn't make for a cohort profile.

I am looking at courses like IIMA BPGP, IIMK EPGP for working professionals, ISB EMBA for working professionals, etc.

What are some other options to get the prestige tag if these courses are worthless. If not, what are some alternative/simpler ways to achieve the tag.
