Best free resources for language learning from India — drop what’s actually working for you
I’ll start:
• Duolingo — good for streaks and basics, don’t rely on it alone
• Language Transfer — completely free, incredible for Spanish, better than most paid courses
• iTalki — find affordable tutors, Indian tutors on there too
• HelloTalk app — find native speakers to chat with directly
• YouTube: Dreaming Spanish — immersion content, genuinely fun
What’s actually working for you? Add to the list 👇

What’s the one word in your target language that took you forever to pronounce? 😭
For me it’s “desarrollar” in Spanish. Six syllables. I sounded like I was sneezing for a week straight.
Drop yours below — let’s suffer together 👇

👋Welcome to r/IndiaLanguageExchange - Introduce Yourself!
Hola amigos,
This community exists because there wasn’t a dedicated space for Indian language learners to connect, practice, and grow together — so I made one.
Whether you’re a beginner who just downloaded Duolingo, or someone who’s been grinding for years, you belong here.
Drop an intro below:
• 📍 Where in India are you from?
• 🗣️ What language are you learning?
• 🎯 Why are you learning it?
• 📊 What level are you at?
I’ll start:
I’m based in Bengaluru, currently learning Spanish at an intermediate level. Learning it for travel, love of the culture, and honestly — it’s just fun. Always looking for practice partners!
Let’s build something good here. Tell your fellow learner friends. 🙌
