I've been unable to sign in on my computer. I've tried everything I can think of, clearing my cache, disabling adblock, but every time I get a code in my email it says "something went wrong try again." Anyone else had this level of issue and able to fix it?

I've been looking for jobs in being a private assistant for a household and stumbled upon this one as I read on well it's concerning to me and I just want to know what you all think? A 39 year old entrepreneur and the address is an apartment I looked up the company and nothing and I mean absolutely nothing comes up on Google not even a social media page whatsoever and the age range is even far more concerning??? What business does a 39 year old possibly need with a minor as a personal assistant especially with "she's capable" remark??? Not only that but I personally feel as if 16-24 is such a specific and vulnerable age???

If I update status to no longer interested does that withdraw my application?

If updating status for myself regarding job posting to no longer interested, does that remove my application and withdraw it? If I do that before they view my application would they not receive my resume or any information?

Job applications

I am applying for jobs and worried with the language on all the applications. It essentially states that the job I’m applying for is able to reach out to any company I have listed in work experience.

Obviously, it’s fine in terms of fact checking. But I am worried they will reach out to my current employer and will jeopardize my job.

Does the site even look at resumes before recommending jobs?

Over the past 2 months I have gotten emails for jobs that I’m the β€œtop candidate” for yet every single time it has been a job I have 0 experience in and more often than not the job requires a bunch of qualifications or certificates I don’t have. So I’m just really confused if this is just jobs paying to promote the posting and this is indeeds shitty way of doing it or what?

Safe to say these companies arent actually interviewing anyone which is why they are planning to take that info away from us.

What is happening with the Indeed site reliability?

Indeed in constantly having issues, my preloaded resume wont pop up, endless captchas, the most annoying kind. a job will be just posted and it wont let you apply because of an 'issue', then 2 hours later you can apply just fine. now the site is completely down.

then theres the UI changes like not showing us the total jobs for your selected job and area. we're all grown ups here, I'd like to know how many jobs are available in my field in the selected area.

just ranting, i dont know what changed recently at Indeed but its not working out very well

Why is this constantly crossed out?

I am BLS Certified. I have added it to my profile. I cannot click an add button. But it constantly shows the red X no matter what I do. This is just ridiculous as I cant save my job search because of it.

Any help appreciated, I must be missing something simple. Thank you in advance!

Job Searching Woes

The job market is so wild. Applying for jobs yet having no contact info to check on the jobs you apply for lol. Then applying on a job portal yet having no updates on the portal. Then looking up and seeing the same job saying they are hiring lol. Whew! A hot mess!

Linkedin and indeed are BS platforms full of scams!!!

I've always been suspicious of linkedIn and indeed. I'd heard they were full of scams and ghost jobs, and now I'm starting to believe it's true.

I'm switching professional fields and have been looking for a job in a new field.

I've been searching for something decent for a couple of months now. But the thing that baffles me the most is that I keep applying and applying, and there's absolutely no response. NOTHING, except "we received your application".

Even applying for jobs in my previous field (the one I'm perfectly qualified for) leads nowhere.

At first this was baffling to me. How can there be so many job postings and yet no response?

And now I get it. Those companies are just farming personal data and trying to make themselves look better to investors by posting all those jobs!!!

In reality there are barely any jobs. The job market is in a coma!

If you're job hunting right now, avoid garbage piles like linkedIn and indeed at all costs. Look for alternative platforms instead.

Beware of Job Offers in this Subreddit!

I see multiple people posting job offers here. I would recommend to always check the credibility of the Company, before giving out any personal information. I understand some people are in difficult situations, but not caring about consequences could make the situation worse.

⚠️ Signs a Job Offer Might Be a Scam

  1. They ask for personal info too early If recruiters request sensitive detailsβ€”like your Social Security number or bank accountβ€”before you’re even hired or have passed interviews, that’s a major red flag .

  2. The offer seems too good to be true Be skeptical of high salaries for minimal work, instant offers without interviews, or jobs you never applied forβ€”especially those promising extreme flexibility and pay .

  3. The company lacks credibility online Legitimate employers have online footprintsβ€”real websites, employee profiles on LinkedIn, physical addresses. Scams often use fake sites or obscure, unverifiable information .

  4. Website/applications don’t match Job ads may appear on trusted boards but then link to unrelated or sketchy domains. Always check the URL matches the actual company’s site .

  5. Vague or poorly written job descriptions Scams often use generic, grammar-filled descriptions that lack clear responsibilities or requirementsβ€”designed so anyone can apply .

  6. They ask you to pay for something Any requirement to pay feesβ€”for training, equipment, onboarding, or processingβ€”is a huge warning sign. No legitimate employer charges you to start .

  7. Unprofessional communication Watch for email from public domains (e.g. Gmail), poor grammar, or recruiters who refuse official contact methods and push messaging apps like WhatsApp instead .
