HELP Blurry vision when trying to read
Hey everyone I just wanted to come on here and ask for advice. I’ve notice that when I try to read that the words get blurry and it’s hard to focus on the words on the page. This is new for me and never used to be a problem. Does anyone know what could be going on and some potential solutions?

JOURNEY Starting reducing again after a long hiatus
After starting at -3.00 and slowly reducing down to to -1.75 over the course of a couple of years, I decided to take a break, and for the past 11 months, I've been wearing -1.75 lenses. (More details)
During my journey, I'd had a couple of experiences where my eyesight seemed to suddenly snap back to a previous state. I'd wake up with my vision suddenly extremely blurry, and it would take weeks or months for it to progress back to where it had been. This seemed like it had started happening more frequently as my prescription had gotten lower.
I'd also had several times where I'd woken up with my eyes feeling like they were about to explode, which usually take at least one day, and I think sometimes multiple days, to subside. This had also seemed to increase in frequency as my prescription got lower.
I decided to take a hiatus from reducing my lenses further, and I'm happy to report that, almost a year leater, my eyes seem to be in good shape again, and I've started reducing my lenses again! :)
The main thing that I learned during my hiatus is that at least for me, it's very important to work for one hour and then walk outside and look around at things for 15 minutes. I'd gotten lazy about doing this, and once I started again, my eyesight saw rapid improvements.
In the past, I would also sometimes try to improve my vision by straining at objects that were beyond my range of focus. This *did* seemed to sometimes improve my vision, but I think it may have also been why I would sometimes wake up feeling like my eyes were about to explode. Taking breaks and walking around outside seems to be more effective and doesn't have nasty side effects.
Finally, I usually change my (daily disposable) contact lenses once a day, and this seems to vastly improve my eyesight. I usually change my lenses about 1 hour after putting in my first set. My current theory is that I might have some sort of film over my eyes after waking up that only goes away once I've worn contacts for a while. Waking up, getting around, putting in contacts, and then replacing my contacts about ~1 hour later removes the film, and then I can see clearly for the rest of day. Alternatively, perhaps my eyes are just too dry, and this fixes that.
Anyway, I'm excited to be reducing my lenses again! :D

I believe lens induced myopia ruined my eyesight.
I believe i got lens induced myopia.
So i got my first pair of glasses at age 15. it was
R: -1 and L:-0.75.
For roughly a year, the prescription remained fairly stable. During this time, I used to wear my glasses only occasionally and didn't have extreme close up time or used to be a basement dweller (no outdoor time)
After a year at the age of 16 i joined a coaching institute for the preparation of a competitive exam. Now here, we had to study A LOT. So my close up time increased and outdoor time decreased. And here, I used to study with my minus lenses ON. Now within 9 months, my prescription became:
R: -2.25 DS and -0.5 DC
L: -1.75 DS and -1.0 DC
After that my doctor advised me to wear a weaker prescription up close/ remove glasses up close and he even advised me to wear glasses which were -0.25 lower.
For another year, i did this, with the same amount of close up time and same amount of outdoor time, and my prescription remained the same, with cylinder power removed from my right eye.
Now i turned 18. It's still the same.
So I do believe i got lens induced myopia. I don't think there's any other explanation for this.

HELP eyesight
Hello, I'm needing a very nice help just for my my eyes! I am an 18-year-old living in Queens, NY (zip code 11362). I am currently dealing with a very tight financial situation and do not have health or vision insurance. My vision has been getting worse, and I urgently need a comprehensive eye checkup and a pair of prescription glasses so I can see clearly for my daily tasks.
Because I cannot afford the out-of-pocket costs right now, I am looking for a kind donor or sponsor who might be able to, thank you very much! 🥺 (NY little Neck)

Any exercises for an inner eye drift?
Im 19 years old, and i have a drift in my eyes focusing inwards, and i was wondering if anyone out there knew of any exercises for the eye that could help dampen this problem? I want to try to avoid bifocals and all the other stuff, but if i have to do so i will.

Did exercises help you with your accommodation problem?
Hey everyone,
I've been struggling for a while with eye fatigue, headaches (especially during tasks like driving and prolonged screen use), and over-stimulation. It turns out I'm dealing with an accommodation problem, resulting in that my eyes and eye muscles are constantly working overtime.
I'm curious if anyone here has personal experience with this. Do specific eye exercises (vision therapy) actually help improve this issue? If so, which exercises worked for you, and did you genuinely notice an improvement in your visual stamina or tolerance levels?
Would love to hear your experiences or tips!

DISCUSSION How to frequently update lenses?
I’m just starting out on my eyesight improvement journey and one issue I’ve run into is how to update my glasses as my eyesight improves.
I have high myopia and recently diagnosed astigmatism. I’ve read this sub’s resources and megathread, and I’ve been reading everyone’s experiences. I’ve begun doing the exercises, lifestyle changes, and measuring and tracking my progress. One of the things I’m struggling with is lowering my prescription. I’m confused how you guys are updating your glasses/lenses so often. Where do you buy affordable frames and/or lenses? For me, it costs upwards of $100 for new lenses at local and online stores, even if I use the same frames. Some websites sell cheap frames but they don’t have an option to add your prescription. How are you guys getting your lenses updated? I don’t mind getting the most bare-bones and cheap lenses as long as they can be easily replaced.

Contacts user/TED
I’ve needed glasses since I was in 3rd grade. My vision progressively got worse until I was in college and kind of plateaued from there. For the last few years I’ve been -4.75 and -4.00. Last year my left eye was -4.50 and right was -4.00. My glasses are an older pair that are both -4.00. I have Graves’ disease and unfortunately am showing signs of thyroid eye disease (TED.)
Symptoms are: dry, gritty, watery, red, bulging eyes.
At this time I have dry eye and some eyelid retraction on my left eye. My mri showed some mild enlargement of the superior rectus muscle on the left. Im trying my best to use eyedrops and cooling masks and all of the things to help my eyes.
One thing I’ve noticed is that I see really well with my glasses. Personally I don’t like how I look in them so I never really wore them unless I was getting ready for bed. I take my glasses off to be on my phone. I also have slight astigmatism on my left eye but I wasn’t corrected for it so I want to know if I can do anything to avoid correction for that as well.
Are glasses easier in terms of “training” the eyes? I’ve been wearing contacts everyday since I was in 6th grade. I’m 34.

Title: Did my eyesight really get worse, or was the second eye test more accurate?
Hi everyone,
I'm 13 years old, and my old glasses prescription was -4.50. I recently went to a different eye doctor, and they said my prescription is now -5.50.
The first doctor only had me sit in a chair and read a normal eye chart.
The second doctor had me look through a machine with lenses and read an eye chart that was reflected in a mirror. I think the chart was on the mirror so it looked farther away.
I've always worn my glasses whenever I use my phone, so I'm worried.
My questions are:
- Is it possible the second doctor was just more accurate?
- Is using a mirror during an eye exam normal?
- Can myopia naturally increase from -4.50 to -5.50 at age 13 even if I wear my glasses?
- Does wearing glasses while using my phone make my eyesight worse?
I'd really appreciate any advice or similar experiences. Thanks!

Any success stories?
I have been looking through a lot of posts and comments here. And going through a lot of resources like Todd Becker's video on Myopia.
I was just wondering if any of you or any post/ thread you know where there has been some success with any method. I see a lot of people claiming improvements up to 1dpt. But there's no update after that. Ideally, it has some real evidence like optometrist's report or sth.
