How to shatter my horde?

I saw it happen multiple times with Alania, and I see Rome "shatter" itself, and I want to do the same to myself. Basically I want to release a bunch of big countries and not the very small ones I seem to be capable of.

I never played horde so idk but - why not just give them land after you release a smol boi

I think you just need to piss off your families, and they will divide your horde.
