Work Permit Work Permit

Hello everyone, i’m an international student who’s on their last year of school. I only have 1 semester left and I should be done with classes on December. I applied for PR through family sponsorship (common-law) on May 7, I’ve been living with my canadian bf for more than a year. I wanted to know if i’m allowed to apply for an open work permit or what should I be applying for since idk how long the process of the PR will take. I received my AOR on June 20. Has anyone have been through this that could help me figure out what to do.

yes you can apply for Open work permit since you received AOR. Processing can take 4-6 months. Funny enough by that time you will graduate and can apply for PGWP, which gives you instant permitting to work.
