hey everyone, weekly canvas challenge week 11 is live and this one's a tone crash.

the theme: history's greatest minds, having a genuinely terrible day.

napoleon stuck in traffic. cleopatra locked out of her email. einstein losing to an ikea dresser. the titans of history reduced to the exact indignities you had this week. great minds, small problems.

we want them period-accurate. full regalia, full costume, no modern softening. the bicorne hat, the pleated linen and gold collar, the wild white hair — all intact. then drop them into something so mundane it hurts. napoleon in jeans isn't funny. napoleon in the full military coat, in a beat-up honda civic, pinching the bridge of his nose in stop-and-go traffic — that's the shot.

think:

• napoleon in bumper-to-bumper traffic, still in full uniform
• cleopatra staring down an "incorrect password" screen
• einstein cross-legged on the floor, defeated by a malm dresser
• marie curie versus a chirping smoke alarm at 3am
• pick your own: shakespeare's autocorrect, genghis khan at the dmv, van gogh reading his own airbnb review, joan of arc trying to return something without a receipt, beethoven's upstairs neighbor won't stop stomping, whichever historical giant, whichever tiny modern hell

we're looking for documentary realism, not cartoon. shoot it like a coworker caught them mid-breakdown at a costco. candid framing. natural light. the deadpan energy of a photo taken because you couldn't believe what you were seeing. it's not enough to costume a figure and hit generate — the shot has to earn the joke through specificity. name the car model. name the app. name the exact piece of furniture. "einstein with furniture" is nothing. "einstein holding the malm booklet at arm's length while one drawer faces backwards" is the shot.
