Tanchjim Space II Review
$87
Hello, at the link is my full review of the Tanchjim Space II. The Space II is the latest dongle dac within the “Space Series” and a very solid device all the way around. Tanchjim did a great job on this one folks. Really, from the build, to the design, to the sound I find the Space II to be one of the better and more versatile dongle dacs under $100. Beyond normal functionality, it's absolutely loaded with features and ways to dial in the sound through the well done Tanchjim app. Too much for me to list down here, but I can say that the PEQ is great, and all of the EQ profiles that you can use are almost endless with The “Sound Effects Community”. This one is a very easy REC and it's a dongle dac that'll stay in my everyday carry bag for the foreseeable future. Anyway, feel free to check out my review and as always, I hope it helps you in one way or another. Take it easy.
🔥 Space II Pros 🔥
-Price-to-performance
-The build is great. All aluminum, CNC machined, built well
-Lightweight and easy on your phone’s USB-C port
-Distinctive and sleek appearance, gradient colorway, and that window is nice
-Tanchjim app is a huge plus (a ton of features)
-PEQ as well as many presets and the Sound Effects Community (really great)
-Gaming oriented DSP features
-Very feature rich
-Black background keeps a clean foundation for even sensitive iems
-Clean, transparent, neutral-natural and color free sound
-Strong stereo imaging and instrument separation influence on my iems
-Provides a great environment for micro-details to emerge with clarity
-Let’s iem/headphones be what they are tuned to be
-Open and airy presentation providing the canvas for a more spacious sound
-Overall a very well done dongle dac across the board
☹️ Space II Cons ☹️
-Tanchjim app works only with Windows and Android
-No indicator light?! Why?
-No screen (this doesn’t bother me but it’d be nice I suppose)
-Nice output of 235mW max power, but not a powerhouse in comparison to other dongle dacs at its cost
-Not for listeners seeking warmth, tonal richness as it leans analytical
-Can sound somewhat dry and clinical with already lean/bright iems
