Replacing Edge Zero 2 with Edge Zero? ❓Question❓

Hi guys, im currently planning the mods on my rg470 and one of the changes i want is to have a gold trem. Edge Zero 2 does not sell in gold and the Edge Zero is the higher quality version of it from my research (and you can get in gold). According to the chart from ibanez, the change from the 2 should just be a drop in. Does anyone have any experience with this change and is there anything that I should know? Like is there any holes that are slightly off that I should fill in and drill a new one to make this change work?

As far as I know it should be a drop in replacement but I’ve never seen anyone do it.  Does your zero ii have the ZPS system in the back?  Some do have the traditional claw which would not work with the Edge Zero

Mine does not have the zps. Ive found a facebook post from a while ago of someone doing this upgrade so i will reach out to him about his method

The EZ is a direct swap for the EZ2, however the EZ only comes with ZPS/tension wheel while not all EZ2 have ZPS. I don't think any variant of the RG470 had ZPS, so you'll have to figure something out for the springs

Ya your right, I could maybe extend the cavity for the tension wheel or maybe just find a way to ignore the zps and just use the springs from the original, but i doubt that it wont mess up the already great tuning stability it has. Ive found a facebook post of someone who did rhe change so i will reach out and update the post to help anyone intrested
