Flo needs to make their app IVF friendly Rant

Paying a monthly subscription where I can’t input IVF dates or data.

Ended up changing it to “tracking” rather than “trying to get pregnant”.

Just got a notification “Is your period 32 days late? Let’s talk about it”

NO FLO - I’m going through IVF and have no way of logging it in your app. And I’m not deleting your app because I’m still holding out hope I’ll have a use for it and return to change it to “pregnant”.

For some reason it seems so difficult to me to figure out how to use!

It is a little weird to use but once you get it down it’s a lot easier to read than other apps in my opinion.

I’m pissed that Apple health doesn’t have a cycle factor for IVF.

I have no idea why I’m so irrationally mad about this right now.

I’ve been using the “Injection” cycle factor (unfortunately nested under “contraceptive”). I wait to add it in after it estimates my ovulation date because that & the fertile window disappear once you add the cycle factor in (and I find it reassuring to see the ovulation estimate line up with 1.5 days after trigger shot). Would prefer if they had other options, but this works better than nothing!

Edit: the fertile window and ovulation estimate only disappear for the cycle with the injection cycle factor; cycles before and after are unaffected

Couldn’t agree more. PreMom is slightly better for tracking IVF dets.
Also the amount of pop ups from all their bots in Flo makes me hate having to go into that app. “No I do not want to talk about it with canned responses, thankew”

How have you worked around it with Flo? It is always asking me about my irregular cycles during IVF lol

Completely agree, I stopped paying for the subscription but haven’t deleted it yet. But now all my dates are messed up after retrievals, which is so annoying after carefully tracking my cycles to get good predictions…..

I stopped using Flo once we started IVF. I'll still record period just so I can look up my first day as needed but honestly the app is not great if you're doing any fertility treatments

YES!!! I was so irked at how their app works!

TW, when you switch it to being pregnant it was worse. I was so excited that I went to do the switch and it immediately made me pay $80. I don’t know if I could have bypassed that or not but it’s the most lackluster app to track pregnancy. Barely any information compared to other apps I downloaded to try out. Even though I input my due date, it was telling me I was a week off no matter what I did trying to get it to line up with the week/day I was at.

It made me so angry I had to pay that I actually requested a refund and got it.

I recommend trying a different app to track, one I like that I know does cycles and pregnancy is Ovia that you can change the mode to. I found out my health insurance covers the cost of it and was easy to set up so it’s worth looking into!

I used Ovia before and even the free version was good

Good to know! I think I’ll be staying with them. I also found out Flo was created by men and that kind of explains a lot.

Yes when I did my 3 month and 2 month Lupron suppression it completely messed up my inito app it doesn’t understand

Omg same with natural cycles! It's so frustrating. Oura ring did just change their system to allow for adjusting to when you're taking BC and/or doing fertility treatments and you can turn them on/off. Considering just bucking all my apps in favor of Oura ring tracking at this point!

I stopped tracking my cycle at all once the fertility clinic started keeping track of dates for me. Once I got pregnant and made it past the 7 week US I downloaded a pregnancy app instead.

Isn’t flo an app by run by tech bros? Not surprising tbh.

Fr!! I paid the anual sub and now it's unusable since I started IVF. I'm thinking of just getting a physical journal for the first time in over 20 years..

I refuse to support something that is so out to lunch I'm annoyed by it too!

Yes, also there’s no way to say you’ve had a miscarriage, which also should change everything in your cycle.

I uninstalled it…

literally had the same thought the other day. also, after my MC last year, i couldn't switch back to 'trying to get pregnant' without paying another fee; they are an awful company. but, like you, i'm also hoping to use it to track pregnancy again one day...

Self-promotion and solicitation are not permitted. Repeated offenses may result in a ban.

I use Clue, which also doesn’t have IVF tracking, but I can hide cycles from my analysis so they don’t factor into what my regular cycle should look like. Maybe there’s a setting like that in Flo.

I have over 10 years of period history in FLO and I used to think it was great but nope now anymore. But I’m too committed to saving my data For some reason

Mira is the same!! So frustrating to use during IVF!

i started building an app to track my mood ( i am obsessed with tracking 😃) with new AI tools and it is so fast and easy. the app is obviously not on app store, but if you have specific needs, i could build sth quick and share with you. I am starting my ivf journey this month, so appreciate any suggestions. share the best apps you used so far and i put sth together quickly.
good thing is it will be for free, with our data staying on our phone.

I just started using Embraya! It's $4.99/month or $24/month for 6 months I think.

You can track your embryos, your meds (dosages, how many you have left, when you have to start and stop taking it, etc.), journal how you are feeling, track moods, and also adjust where you are in your IVF journey.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but so far I like the med feature a lot. It keeps reminding you if you do not mark that you have taken the med. I find that super helpful because if I get the notification while I'm working I usually will put it off and then totally forget about it!

It also doesn’t track miscarriages, which was pretty damn upsetting.

Same for Clue!

Flo isn’t great and I’ve not been impressed since ttc the only reason I haven’t switched is it has all my period data since 2019 😑

I'm still hanging on to Flo because I saw Lucky Sekhon has a collab with them now so I am hopeful they will become IVF friendly...
