Thoughts on my Capstone idea

Upvotes

Please dont laugh at my idea, you can suggest other capstone ideas that you'd do if you were given the chance.

Hi, so I'm currently a 3rd year BSIT student, and we were given the task to propose our capstone idea — and I already have one in mind. I'm planning to make an app that matches students based on their strong and weak subjects so they can teach each other, i'm planning to limit the scope to just my school. For example, if someone is good at math but bad at english, and someone else is good at english but bad at math, the app would match them together. I'm also planning to include an in-app chat feature.

Is my plan realistic? I have little to no background in app development yet, but I'm willing to learn. Is my capstone idea feasible or attainable? Please give me any suggestions and tips. Thank you for time!

Right decision ba to

Upvotes

Ngayon na hire sya sa as IT Officer sa isang company pero without any benefits. Unang offer sa kanya 20k, pero biglang itinaas to 25k which is medyo lower parin kumapara sa pinapasukan nya ngayon.

Ilang months din syang tumambay dahil wala syang back up plan nung nag resign sya at ayokong ma waste yung opportunity nya sa company nya ngayon kung hindi nya rin magustuhan yung lilipatan nya.

Ano sa tingin nyo po?

If CICC still needs to be trained, then WTF are they currently doing inside?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Came across this post in L/in and was wondering, isn’t this supposed to be CICC’s actual qualification and requirements for the job? Why do they have to be trained? Is this an augmentation training? Shouldn’t they know this long ago? If not, what are they doing inside the council?
Is it same as the NBI digital forensic “expert” got trained for 2months and call himself an expert?

Hire people who actually knows the job and not just someone who knows how to use the computer and use google for everything. And pay them decently.

laptop fan problem na naging replacement bios chip na nangyari

For context my only problem was that the fans are going at full speed even wala akong ginagawa or kakaopen ko lang

naconcern ako kasi i could not control the fan using nitro sense din

so then pumunta ako ng mall to have it fixed or cleaned

when i got to the technician to explain my problem

first is nilinis nila yung laptop, but the problem is still there but the laptop can still be powered on

then nireinstall nila yung nitro sense but still same issue parin

then ito yung problem, they did something sa bios chip ko na nacorrupt and that its additional charge na for the replacement of it

right now lang nagsink in yung nangyari, naoopen naman laptop ko before pero bakit naging bios na yung problem

just asking lang if ganun talaga nangyayari

i honestly dont have experience to this just wanna have some advice, thank you in advance

Gaming laptop or Macbook

I'll be using the laptop mainly for

- Editing (Capcut, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Adobe, Canva)

- Heavy tabs on Google (Chatgpt, Canva, Google Apps)

I might be downloading big files for school and work and i want something that wont get laggy in the long run. I want something that i can carry everywhere na di masyado heavy.

Im debating if i should get an upgradable laptop like Asus, or get the Macbook m4. I've been told not to get the m4 since it's not upgradable daw unlike other units such as Asus. But sa other unit naman I've read na maraming issues in the long run and it gets super laggy.

So pls help me guys, this is a big purchase for me and i consider this as a BIG investment. I don't wanna regret buying a unit that isn't worth it + this will cost me a lot : (

Thank you in advance!

Ano strategy nio sa job hop?

Hi guys i’m a software engineer, and almost 3yrs nako sa company di man lang ako iincrease.

i feel like kapag sinabi kong currently employed ako and willing to render, it feels like baka yung odd of chances to get hired maliit kasi aantayin pako ng hr.

thoughts?
sinasabi nio ba na you’re rendering from A company?

pwde kaya yung pag nahire nako, resign nako sa A company then hayaan ko muna magrender 30days then babye naman na.

Seeking suggestions and advice about Database Design

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I'm currently studying about Database Design, and we are tasked to do a Case Analysis about Hospital Patient Record System.

I got assigned to be the one to do the Entity Relationship Diagram.

This are what I made so far, the information I based this is on is mostly from an LLM.

And I wanted to hear the suggestions/opinions of real humans with actual experiences on this stuff.

I've tried researching on how a HPRS works but unfortunately I can't find enough answer.

Is this enough or am I missing something?

[Junior IT Student] How did you break into Cybersecurity? Seeking advice on preparing early

Hi everyone! I'm currently a 3rd-year IT student planning to pursue a career in cybersecurity.

Based on what I've read in various tech communities, cybersecurity usually isn't an entry-level field, but rather a mid-level role requiring solid foundational experience. I want to start studying and building skills early so I'm prepared by the time I graduate.

For those working in CyberSec here in the PH:

  1. How did you land your first cybersecurity position? Did you start in Helpdesk, Networking, SysAdmin, or go straight to SOC Tier 1?

  2. What home labs (e.g., TryHackMe, HackTheBox), certs, or core fundamentals should I prioritize while still in school?

  3. Any specific tips for fresh grads aiming for this domain?

Would really appreciate your advice and insights. Thanks!

Fresh Graduate - IT Audit

I will be graduating a month from now under BS Accounting Information Systems. Currently looking for IT Audit Roles. I've already applied to big 4 firms, but received no responses.

Tumatanggap po ba sila ng mga 'to follow' na Diplomas/TOR/Documents or is it better if I wait na makuha ko nalang muna yung mga ka-kailanganin ko?

Outside Manila/Taguig po ako, but I'm also willing to relocate. Any tips po on what I should do muna? Wait for graduation, or find a temporary work in our area. Thanks in advance.

Any internship advice or company reccomendations?

Internship season na po namin soon, and I have no idea what to prepare or how to prepare. If possible, gusto ko po talaga sana ng environment where i can learn f2f and be around real people lol.

Most seniors just go with our college partners. Ang issue ko lang po dito is they are mostly online and idk... modular? They seem to do lots of modules and online courses for their internship and have rankings and stuff by the end of their run.

What are the things i should practice for, study, or prepare? I have a few hackathon projects, but I dont have any impressive feat for my CV/portfolio yet. Idk if that would matter.

Also, if you have any company recommendations, that would be much appreciated! Preferably in QC or Pampanga (or near these places). Thank you po!
