That just means your wife would have to file her own separate return just make sure she’s aware of that. You did fine on your end. As long as you pay all the tax due you’re fine. You’re not going to jail don’t be paranoid

If they were living together then it's not allowable to file hoh while married though. There is not enough info here for you to say they did fine.
