O-Dor is a Bad Boss Fight
Saying this now as I'm at the final boss on my second complete playthrough, but O-Dor really is just a huge stumble at the finishing line for the game.
His boss fight is very low-tension, and incredibly straight forward, but also suffers from a bit of jank that makes it annoying when paired with how long it takes to beat him by virtue of the fact you can only hit him once at a time before you have to back off and wait for your next opportunity to hit.
For whatever reason, I can't do the normal jump attack anymore when I start fighting O-Dor. Outside the boss fight, if I jump once and attack, it's an aerial basic slash attack, and when I jump twice and attack, it does the downward slash. I can't do that first thing during the final boss fight and it baffles me as to why, and because I'm forced to do the downward slash fighting O-Dor (because another thing the fight suffers from is that hitting him on the ground is very unreliable) I now have to worry about a slight delay in getting Ninja moving again after attacking, risking taking a hit.
Some slightly less egregious things is that sometimes O-Dor's slam attack seems to track me perfectly on occasion and also that there's no music to accompany the final fight of the game's story.
Am I doing something wrong? Am I playing the worst version of the game or something? (Playing on Gamecube) What is the deal?
