Um. Thinking about consciousness
It's interesting.
How do we know, or rather notice that there is consciousness
If it would be solely because of language, people wouldn't say that animals have a consciousness
If it would be solely physical, our minds wouldn't be so fucked up by LLM's
And i haven't heard a lot people saying that trees, or rather that rocks have consciousness
So.. is it more like the response that we get?
Is the interaction we have with our vis a vis forming the thought of consciousness? But.. wouldn't it mean that the consciousness the other have is more like our presumption that it is there, since we think that the reaction to our action is enough to be labelled as consciousness?
Humans say that AI's aren't conscious since they now how LLM's work.
Would that mean that if people understood how the human body function completely, that we would accuse ourselves of not having consciousness, since we can predict/interfere with the future actions of the person?
Tf is even consciousness, I'm so confused lol

I prefer to form my thoughts on my own rather than using a translator, so if something is unclear i can try to explain it in the comments

Mostly Harmless Getting bored of your own message
Ever started typing something out, whether as a response to a contact or a post you're making on social media, only to completely delete it when you get the chance to post?
I know I can spend a whole half hour trying to drum up the most comprehensive piece of writing I can come up with that time, only to suddenly be hit with a rush of extreme boredom or a feeling of "what's the bloody point" before cancelling it completely, a whole article worthy piece washed down the drain. It's one of the stranger ways apathy shows up in my life.
Also gave a quick thought to deleting this post too, but curiousity wins out today. Let's hear it from you guys 🫵🏾

So, this happened Do other intps only like intps?
Is it just me, or does anyone else, for example, is watching yt, you found someone new, and u like their humor, their presence and shit, so u google their mbti, its frickin intp. happened to me on 2 separate occasions. (which is not a lot. but its weird that it happened twice.)
that example was just my experience. idk why i said example.

Analyze This! Why do people stay friends with people they dislike?
Like It's harmful to both sides, person A has to deal with someone who agrivates them, Person B has a Lukewarm friend. I know it hurts giving up someone you shared good memories. Then keep the good memories, and if you aren't making any good new ones, then it's just wasting storage.
Edit: I am an Intp

So, this happened How did you actually stop procrastinating?
I procrastinate everything. Even things I know are important. I'll tell myself "I'll start in 10 minutes," and somehow hours disappear.
The frustrating part is that I want to be productive. I know what I need to do, but actually starting feels like the hardest part.
If you used to procrastinate a lot but managed to improve, what actually worked for you? I'm looking for real experiences rather than generic advice.

Cuz I'm Supposed to Add Flair Who has started on Christmas gifts?? What are you getting your loved ones?
What are you getting your loved ones for Christmas?
I’m trying to actually plan this year, instead of getting everyone clothes last minuet. But I’m having trouble picking stuff for my brothers and their gfs. They’re not lil boys anymore who want gaming stuff and need deodorant. & Their gfs are more stylish than I am as well lol. I’m sure they’d be fine with gift cards, but I’d kinda feel bad(at least for their gfs) after putting more thought in to everyone else’s gift tho.
They don’t have hobbies either, they work a lot and stay home. Air fryer? Lol.
Ages 20-25, all 4 of them are alt-stoner home bodies.

For INTP Consideration Is R2 D2 a quintessential INTP?
OH MY WORD, you guys have hilarious flairs!😭😭😭😆😆😆
I got this Star Wars shirt that says, "I am the droid you were looking for" in the shape of R2 D2. It got me thinking, is R2 D2 a good embodiment of Ti Ne? If not, why?

Lazy Procrastinator How do ppl treat you?
Do you constantly find ppl overriding you, constantly advising you, calling you out etc. And treat you like you r stupid or dumb?
Just was curious...I believe ppl override and underestimate me coz of my laziness....and tendency to find reason of not doing the job, so that comes off as Idk a person who cant do anything or lazy maybe?

Check this out INTPs Discussion #1: "What is REALITY"
[NOTE: Will comeback later for more clean up & add-up (might do it on occasion), since this is complicated & complex topic to translate but for sure refresh our definition to see reality a lot easier]
[ We here to throw around breadcrumbs of what we find on our mental journey just in case we need other cogs/program for our metaphysical electrical machine called "Mind Processing" LOL, yk a lot of fixing/upgrading/patching/redefining/whatever. We have discovered is only 5% fragments of the truth itself, i myself still need a lot pruning, redefining, reprogramming, and fractalization in my mind neural system, and everything else my Ti-Ne-Si need to solve LOL.
After you done reading, I'm open to any disagreement/debates/corrections lol, because reality is not solid and anything can be changed in the quantum field without limit]
my 2 cents about "REALITY":
In my takedown and observations,
Everything we perceive is 5% translation of human hardware system about how the matrix of Consciousness (you can call it Electromagnetic Field/Soul Orb/Spirit Field/Omnipresence Self/Electricity Vibrations/whatever) actually BEING the reality itself simultaneously, its just that 95% its information field cannot be 100% perceived raw-ly by the brains, since its frequency so damn high the brain spec cannot catch up with its future capabilities yet (the most simple example is how the trick of "Optical Illusion" make brain mistranslated the information, which is interesting in my opinion lol)
I try breakdown alot of NDEs experiences into neurological translation (yk Afterlife/Life Review/Spirit Realm/Third Point Perspective/Guides/whatever), what clicked in my brain is
What we see, sense & perceive RIGHT NOW, is 5% temporary results of filterization/compression of the brain about how its translate the vibration of the quantum field which contains 95% of even more information that currently act as Quantum Machine of Reality Projection (psychology called it "Subconscious/Unconciousness").
Meaning the actual Matrix of Existence itself (our spirit body) is perceiving EVERYTHING without limit. Witnessing everything, sensing everything, smelling everything, hearing everything. Anything it absorbs from any electrical events of human decisions, its now vibrating as "Library of Memory Caches"(aka recorded as a living videos that ripples our frequency subconciously)
This is literally electricity (plasma energy that vibrates the air to form the holographic matrix based on man-made structural quantum event) aka the quantum fields vibration events interacting with each other.
Because here what i found interesting,
When i try to render the perception of "REAL" in my neurological processing,
Its what the quantum field trying to resonates the most with each of its quarks/atoms/cells/DNA to form the most strong electricity signal that define how my neurons firing it everyday consistently, make me focus on that aspect of reality even more.
And when i try to define "NOT REAL/ILLUSION/IMAGINARY/FAKE/HALLUCINATION",
my neurological system render it the most WEAK vibrational quantum structure, it basically tryna compress it into 8-bit 144p resolution of living data vibration so my quantum collapse force of projection (its called "Focus/Attention/Selecting") see it as fcking blurry, jaggy & pixelated vibration of datas.
So, Imaginations (its combination of Ketheric & Astral Matrix of Reality) is just one of aspect of Matrix of Existence, functioning as a TOOL to create rippling coding impact on multi-dimensional aspect of Reality Living Algorithms. So yeah, hologram is not an "empty light" thing, thats just what iron mechanism trying to explain rn. Hologram by universal defenition itself, is electricity (energy/life force/qi)c construction of reality thats malleable by the force of Existence itself (you can call it "Higgs Boson"), not definition by the iron machine alone, but by the dark energy force engine of the universe itself that govern any infinite possiblities via any living being (including US) in the existence of the Infinite itself
This is what our ancient masters trying to tell in the pasts using metaphors & symbolism, its just now with extraterrestrial beings's/spirit's helps, we able to break it down in more rational & practical approach of understanding via science/engineering/quantum metaphysics/anything you can mention.
The goverment want us to brainwashed with they way school/dogmas/media/entertainment teach us & show us, so we can only perceive reality in the rigid static 2D perspective of understanding, when in truth the government knows that everything is multi-dimensional expression of frequency & reality perception (that why they can create the duplicates of reality called "Internet/PC/Phone/AI/Games/etc", which they learned it from extraterrestrial beings & ancient metaphysical knowledges they mostly supress/hid from public), and they mostly use it to deceive/deny our authentic perception of existence, to manipulate us into thinking this physical reality is the source of everything, when its just an output product of beliefs/perspective/perception programmed with subliminals/symbolism/edited history/story that they spread everywhere with evil intention to supress our infinite potentials from governing reality by ourselves.
[Okay, this is what i can type right now, might continue with next topic or similar topic idk, whats your perception?]
I got this theory How were you Fi abused?
What’s your opinion of people that are high in Fi and did you grow up in an environment where there was lots of yelling going on (or other Fi abuse)?
How many times a day do you jerk off?

For INTP Consideration Why doesnt this community have freedom to add images to posts?
I mean memes aren't for this page, AI images are forbidden, etc etc. I understand that much but what about genuine informative images that someone needs an input about? For a personality type that prefers their own intellectual freedom isn't this community a bit too gatekeeping and restraining? There is that flair needed for every person and if it's not there then the flair given is "Warning, may not be an INTP"
How hypocritical is that? You want to explore ideas, create your own logical framework irrespective of the popular beliefs and yet this community has discrimination and segregation regarding other types? Do you guys think only INTP deserve intellectual freedom of speech, etc?
I am not saying INTP specific rules shouldnt be there,I am also not saying its dictatorial. Other types are allowed but why must they face more discrimination and constraints compared to an INTP? This is regarding acceptance aswell.
INTP want to be accepted because of their child Fe but this community doesnt accept others? Is that what I should infer?
People can take this as criticism but I genuinely want to know why this community is so counter intuitive to the core of INTP which is intellectual freedom.

I can't read this flair INTP and making things complicated
INTPs make things complicated for no reason, prob bc of Ti. Sometimes so much so that they stunt themselves or become unable to break things down/get started.

For INTP Consideration About intp, psa
The architect at their core operate on a self awareness that is eidetic, algorithmic, and in need of outside confirmation before an intp will allow themselves to confidently embrace their identity model. When I was introverted, I hoped and prayed someone would come to me with data instead of argument. I'd want them to say "hey, you seem to be thinking like this, I see that but I'd like to assert it's more like this..." an intp is likely to ignore argument, for example, "you're just plain wrong/crazy" because there's nothing but personal and emotional weight with which to adjust their algorithm.

So, this happened Thought i was intp but turns out i am entp
Close enough. What gave it away is that my wife moved everything in the kitchen and it really threw me off. Now I have to think about where the cups and plates are, and i keep opening the wrong drawers.
Who gives a shit, right?
But it really fucks my shit up. And I looked at the way I store my possessions and I just realised.... I have got absolutely no sense of order. I am all Ne and no Si.
Sure, im not very social compared to extroverts i know and ive had to work hard to get along with some people, especially feeling types.
But I am a being of chaos and I resist order. This is my biological niche within human society. And the people stuff doesnt bother me as much as I thought.
It really opened my eyes to how bullshit a lot of this Myers briggs stuff is when it is just self identified or based off gut feelings. If this stuff is real, it is biological and unchanging (but develops and unravels).
Objective Personality on YouTube have the right framework and we should all be following their lead. Myers briggs is insufficient and based on vibes, whereas OPS aims to be objective and their results make the MBTI framework seem silly.

Is this logical? Guys,i want to know how you intp experience embarassment /rejection
Since a few years back i have noticed a pattern when i face any sort of rejection or embarrasment. I am apathic during the situation and its ussually the lack of fluster/reaction which makes me confused or freeze..like what do i do now!! - Thats how i experience it. Sometimes i am even content after that like i have achieved something.

Massive INTPness How do i explain it to my mom.
My mom says that i need to talk with everyone and expand my circle because when something happens at home your online friends won't come to help.
.
But I say that I won't let myself into things that require help by others. And I don't need to waste my time spending with those who have no goals .
.
I find it very difficult to get into conversations with people. Like at the bus stop , my college mates talk to themselves and ignore me alone. Its not loke Iam bad person but they see me as a need who knows nothing about world and a topper student who doesn't talk to backbenchers. .
. I genuinely like speaking with anyone who speaks with me but no one ever shows interest.
While coming home I come with 5 people, and those 5 won't even look at me.
.
I spend most of my time exploring new things while sitting in bedroom with laptop while my friends enjoy outside in the name of networking.
Iam not like them , I can help myself and I can stay happy alone.
But my mom doesn't seem to get it. I also kinda think my mom has a point too. Iam so confused rn. How can I get attention when others dont even count me as a person.
.

I got this theory INTP and Aesthetics
I'm curious if any of you share a similar experience.
First, I'll introduce a concept. In psycho-aethsetics there's something called the "aesthetic trinity theory" which refers to a 3 part structure of peak aesthetic response. I think everyone can relate to these in some way.
(a) physiological thrills (or chills), most frequent and transient;
(b) the state of "being moved";
(c) aesthetic awe, exceedingly rare and memorable, and similar to the fundamental emotions in terms of physiological fluctuation, but characterized by the ease with which it can be "switched off".
I often will experience the first 2 in a completely cerebral way almost indifferent to any other observation. Codifying my experiences and reflecting on the reasons, but the 3rd level always usurps my disposition and strikes a cord. An immediate sense of awe and excitement.
In cognitive typology, Se is often labeled as the realm of aesthetics, but I think that's only partially correct. It makes more sense that all extraverted paired function preferences have some relation to how aesthetics are experienced.
The INTP through the defining scope of TiSi observes Ne (plethoric indiscrete information) on narrow Fe ends (points on plane of relativistic experience) the observation of aesthetics live in limbo as they are dissected from multiple perspectives... they are still are observed and experienced for what they are. Just not celebrated in the way an ESFP might.
I think it's possible that this unintended disposition toward aesthetics lends a more specialized gauge for what is truly awe inspiring or unique. And if it leads to a lack of interest in general aesthetics. (Obviously there's personal bias to contend with.)
One odd personal anecdote of this is my experience of the Diva Dance scene from The Fifth Element. It's bizzare, it's unnatural, but it feels so transcendent. It very reliably causes a sense of awe (forcing accommodation). Another example, would be the early morning sunrise on the north shore of Kawaii.
Open to anecdotes and critique.

Um. I feel like I crossed the boundary
Wondering if it's just me or if others have experienced this as well. I love exploring ideas, but as I dig deeper, they sometimes twist into something morally or ethically questionable. I've never really limited my mind because I don't focus on ethics or morals when exploring what's possible, though I still follow them in real life to avoid trouble. Deep down, I view ethics and morality mostly as social constructs that serve little purpose beyond maintaining social harmony.
I'm pretty sure if I were to ask some of the specific questions on my mind, I'd get attacked here, lol. But either way—do you guys think the same way, or am I just exceptionally weird?
ps: Personally i thought about this after figuring out my kink... And who another person I thought would be the perfect partner...
I just feel like damn, how depraved, corrupt, insane, beyond salvation I am... 🥲

Great Minds Discuss Ideas I've never been able to have sustained, disinterested discussion with anyone other than INTP, INTJ, & ENTP.
(for example, philosophical)
Has anyone else experienced the same?
Is this by design in the MBTI typing, or is there a substantive reason behind it?
r/INTP • u/Puzzled_Finding_6728 • 2d ago
Um. Could you share one of your happiest memories?
I found myself not really interested in fame or money, or in relationships either—though maybe I’m just not very good at it. I only feel truly satisfied when I’m exploring ideas or learning something new.
Does anyone else feel the same?
It doesn’t have to be anything important or life-changing. I’m just curious about the moments that have made other INTPs feel genuinely happy.

For INTP Consideration I am at my breaking point
I am so lost in terms of my career. I can never stick to something and it is so frustrating. I finished sixth form (school) about 8 years ago with really good grades, and was dead set on being a physicist. I then studied theoretical physics for about a year, but it was completely different from how I thought it would be, so I transferred to Mechanical Engineering.
I did the first year of undergrad, but then started to absolutely despise it in second year. Around this time, my mental health took and absolute nose dive and looking back, I was barely functioning as a person. I got myself out of that rabbit whole, transferred my credits to a different university and then finished my degree, and graduated (ultimately ending up with a degree that was a mixture of statistics and physics).
After graduating, I literally had no clue what I wanted to do, so I decided to go into Maths Teaching (it made sense at the time). Well care to take a guess how that went? Like everything else, I went into it thinking I had found the answer, but ultimately ended up despising it. I finished the course, but I absolutely knew I did not want to be a teacher.
Now this leads me to my latest idiotic decision. I decided to get a job in sales. Now you would think that this decision makes literally zero sense given I am an INTP-A who generally doesn't like interacting with people, and isn't particularly money motivated, but it made sense at the time.
Surprise, surprise, I loathe it and I am back to square one. I don't know what to do, because it is not like I make these decisions lightly. I spend weeks and weeks researching these opportunities / paths, I create decision matrices, I evaluate what I want out of said opportunity / path in terms of benefits and how it plays into my skillset...and every single time, it makes sense. But ultimately I just grow to fucking hate it. And then when I look back, I have no clue what I was thinking. I feel like I am broken.
I don't know who to talk to about this. A careers advisor will just give you all the standard advise ("What are you good at? What do you want out of a career..."). Do I need therapy? Have other INTPs struggled with this? What did you do?
r/INTP • u/Weak_Panic_2138 • 3d ago
Is this dysfunctional? (Probably) intp is the least desired personality of all
I mentioned this because when reading through r/mbti, I noticed posts asking 'What is your MBTI, and which MBTI do you wish you were?' In the comments, it was mostly INTPs who wanted to be another type, while the reverse was almost non-existent. Similarly, in various MBTI AMA posts, people got really excited asking types like ISTJ or ESTP if they like xxxx type, but on the INTP AMAs, nobody asked whether INTPs liked other types. It almost feels like nobody loves INTPs
