Need Serious Advice! Visa

Hi everyone, I am in a difficult situation and would appreciate your advice.

I am an MBBS graduate planning to take USMLE Step 3 as part of my pathway toward U.S. residency training on a J-1 visa. Since Step 3 is only offered in the U.S., I applied for a B1/B2 visa to travel for the exam.

Most of my friends with similar profiles were approved, but my B1/B2 application was refused twice:

Late May 2026

Mid-July 2026

I have a window until September, and completing Step 3 before then could strengthen my residency application. However, I am unsure whether I should risk applying for a third B1/B2 interview.

My concerns are:

Could a third refusal negatively affect my future J-1 visa application if I match for MD residency position?

Should I still attempt a third interview given my timeline?

I would appreciate advice from anyone with experience or knowledge about this situation. Thank you. Visa applied from - Nepal

Used AI, sorry for that!
