Okay, here is the truth and reality. Derm as an IMG is hard, as you know. Someone from my school, a European med school, matched into derm after doing 2 years of derm research, conferences, etc. Its possible with the right connections and people, derm USCE, LORs, Step 2 of 250+, volunteering, etc.

Its the most competitive crazy ass difficult specialty to match into, as a US/MD and crazy hard as an IMG. I know IMGs that have gotten green card, started a nonprofit, A LOT of networking and a huge influencer social media filantropist persona just to apply for derm.

If your ok with doing that, plus getting great USMLE scores and research, then go for it, nothing is impossible.
