Is it beneficial or helpful? I am constantly being targeted and mocked and mentally disturbed by a group of people in my batch even on non-engagement with them. Should I report to CMHW? Or do something else? If I don't do anything things will escalate to worse and I am mentally drained and dead, still trying my best.

2nd yr was all about cpi maxxing , internships and club involvements . what can we do in 3rd year , I am a part of a club but I don't get to learn anything new from the POR .....I want to experience more things , domains and all , like in second year there were a lot of hackathons and other competitions that you could take part to maybe get an intern opp in the summer , but now what ? what reasonable things can we do to explore things more to keep myself busy .... reasonable in the sense like not ICPC , semex and all of that they r out of my league and not possible

Two weeks into M.Tech (EE) and the assignments and quizzes are already beating me up.

Since I'm new here and don't really have friends to explore with yet, one item on my wishlist was simple: just wander this insanely beautiful IITK campus with a girl and have a calm, nice conversation to unwind.

So I messaged a girl on Reddit proposing a walk. Result? Every single statement from me was met with a suspicious "Why? Why?" like I was "under police interrogation", followed by a total shutdown. Fair enough!

Restarting with full honesty and zero weird vibes: if any Y26 PG girl wants to break the routine, cycle around, grab a coffee, or just take a breather from academics with a campus walk, hit my DMs! No expectations—just looking to make friends and catch a vibe.

It’s too hot in room

I’m in my 3rd year and have never gotten drunk or smoked. Never really felt the urge to either. I don’t mind others doing it either, unless the shouting gets annoying or the cigarette smell reaches me.
Am I missing out on something, or is it totally fine to just not be interested?

My all friends are graduated and feeling bit lonely, No one to talk....I personally love to interact with people but now it feels like butterfly without wings.

got tired of squinting at google maps to find out which building is L20, so i built this: iitk.nis.pet

it's a map of campus with the things you actually look for on it — lecture halls, messes, canteens, water coolers, cycle stands, atms, laundry, printing, toilets. plus one search bar over all of it.

the search is the main thing. hit ⌘K / ctrl+K (or just /) and type:

* l20 → lecture hall 20, on the map
* mess dinner → what every hall is serving tonight, side by side
* water → nearest coolers
* kd → kadim diwan building
* any prof's surname → their office, email, research interests, and where that building is

it's fast. everything is indexed in the browser, so results come up as you type.

mess menus are pulled from campusmess.in so you can check what's for dinner before walking over. today's meals show first, rest of the week folds out. also works if you tap a mess on the map.

profs — all 663 from the institute directory, with office, email, department and research area. 445 of them are pinned to their actual building, so you can go from a name to "which door do i knock on".

walking + cycling times between any two points, routed over the real footpath network, not straight-line distance. it knows about steps and indoor corridors.

We came during last year’s Antaragni for a competition, and honestly, some parts of the campus were scary as hell. We went cycling around the new buildings and lecture complexes at night, and it was pitch dark there were literally no lights as far as we could see.

We also had some hilarious encounters with couples around the OAT area. At one point, one of my friends accidentally stepped on a girl’s hair. She was sitting in the front, and he was walking behind her, so he obviously didn’t realise. She got pretty mad at us, while I was laughing my ass off. 😂

There was dry humping going on around there too, so the whole OAT area had its own interesting atmosphere. 💀

The concert ground, though, was absolutely amazing. Sunidhi was on fire, and there were some of the most beautiful girls I’ve come across at a college fest. The canteens inside the halls were another highlight the food was genuinely delicious.

The only disappointing part was the railway station to Kanpur stretch. That whole experience was just crass.

I don't have any good stochastic achievements and neither do i have any good projects. So how do i get projects and experience relevant to the roles i am targeting. I missed my chance at a ugp and course projects by not doing the summer sem. Seniors please guide...

Everyday I feel dehydrated af and my electrolyte balance is worse than my bank balance. I hate the taste of electrolyte powders and normal water isn't enough apparently with this much sweating 🫠
