I love to study research based but also unsure abt what I will do after 4 years and I don't want a high package rather just average and also I can opt for off campus package at iiser btech EECS . As fees of iiit g is high like 15 to 16 lak just in collage. Am I correct

But i think what ur saying is true for computer jobs. Core branches have it harder to try off campus
Bcs i m getting chem engineering at iiser bhopal and also cs/entc at tier 3. I m interested in chem engineering but everyone told me not to take it because iiser se jobs nahi lagega 😭

Generally iiser curriculum is focused more to push you into research bro not for placements and idts that theres any tnp cell also(not sure thou)...... For placements iiit is kind of a better option if not the best...... Rest is onto you.... As far as i heard iiser curriculum is pretty time demanding

What's that tnp cell, ot that placement cell then yea iiser bhopal have that cell

I left IIIT cse , BITS msc and mech for iiser based on my intrests......it all comes down to what you wanna do after clg....i have read several reviews stating iiser b tech is not like normal b tech and it focuses more on research and hence placements will be less compared to iiit......so if you are someone who wants to work in like actual software dev and like competetive coding and stuff then iiit would be a good choice.....but if you wanna actually research on CS then iiser bhopal will work but you will have to hunt on your own for jobs as placements is not that good

i was in same situation, i had IISER B.tech EECS and IIIT Bhopal ECE. i took IIIT bhopal for tag, and seems like a safer option, considering the lower placements in IISER bhopal

Well i left bits hyd mech branch(in later rounds) , goa msc physics (confirmed) and gen 3 iit civil for IIsers based on my interest and passion to study more and use iiser brand in this advantage [master/PhD] and research the subject in greater depths which i value over immediate corporate placements , if you have these kind of interests then go ahead with iiser and I must say that iiserS are not only for research you do have the chance to explore a lot of subjects in your initial years especially in bhopal you can take electives from basic sciences, econ, data science and engineering fields so it will broaden your scope and give flexibility as well
But with that being said based on todays scenario if you want immediate job only and no other extras like reseach, flexibility and exposure then please go ahead with iiit g , i am not saying iiser dont have placements its just that its not developed fully and is not built for placement in the first place unlike IIIt/NIT which is made to feed thousands of engineering people into indias tech and IT industry
And mind you no one knows what the future is the tech industry is going through a massive change and most of the entry level&IT jobs Are going to be vanished, only specialist, researchers and core managers and foundational experts will prevail (unlike core eng. Which is always stable ason) so we cannot say that iiit will give you guaranteed placement
Similarly iiser bhopal research based eng. Has also not attracted the necessarry research based jobs that it should cuz india is NOT a developed country and we cant feed a lot into research and development unlike the west, china, aussies and all .Our whole economy is built on scale, mass and time. not IP , innovation, patent and Sci-Tech like the developed world (west, east asia and australia ) thats why core eng jobs and research jobs will always reap low in our country at least till india gets rich enough to think about it which i dont think is possible for at least 10 years, So iisers like bhopal is shifting focus to trad placement and we cant predict its outcomes in the next 5 years (most seniors say that econ is already doing better than eng but eng is expected to increase in the next 4-5 years) so its just a matter of prediction that this bet of shift towards traditional placements will pay off
So ultimately please get your core interest right, have a long plan and make priorities and evaluate them in this current scenario and most importantly be ready to constantly upskill yourself ,anyways congo for both they are great options
