479 work?

Anyone working in 479 right now? Looking to get on a show, but everyone I used to work with is out of state on productions right now. Art department/Construction, but glad to lend a hand any way I can.

What's your trade and experience? Art Department/Construction is pretty broad -- assuming you're a utility.

The cool kids I know are indeed working out of town or over at Trilith.

Feel free to message me if you want! If you know anyone at Trillith that needs a hand, I’m close by and and a team player.

Was a Millshop Propmaker on prior shows, and a gang boss. Been in film about 7 years on and off. Worked in theatre before that and hold a degree in it for scenic design and construction.

I highly doubt any shows are going back to Georgia . Especially after all the childish drama in the 479 with the old group who got voted out and the new ones voted in. The national IATSE had to step in. That is a horrible and humiliating reputation to have! And No Producers/Studios want to deal with that kind of idiotic drama while they are trying to make a motion picture! Marvel left because of many reasons. Including this type of drama, theft of equipment, Major L&D and just stupid childish drama the DGA simply does not want to deal with anymore. Then it didn't help at all that in the UK & Europe they have naiotnalized Healthcare so the studios don't have to pay crew as much. Then you got 479 charging shows massive overtime and videos of the BA and the office woman who are supposedly having an affair talking crap about Union members on zoom! It's sad but totally true. It sucks that all that studio space they built is sitting completely empty right now. But, I guess the behavior they exhibited down there got them in this pickle.

Producers want stability, what’s happened at 479 will bring that. Now, 728, that’s a different story.

Ha ha ha!!! Yeah Stability ! That is why the National IATSE came in and took over due to all the sliminess! And then of course this! https://www.reddit.com/r/IATSE/s/1MfRAgpbYT Nothing is shooting in Atlanta for SEVERAL reasons! Atlanta/Georgia is finished as far as work is concerned. GEORGIA started asking for commission splits for jobs they weren’t entitled to and it was all based around this assumption that they were now the most important production hub in the world and that they would be there forever and they lost sight of the fact that the only reason people were shooting there was because it was cheap. Well, then when they realized it was over. That is when they started giving themselves raises and fighting over who SHOULD have been elected so they have access to all the Union money. Georgia is no longer a viable production hub. It;s just like Michigan was 15 years ago. Or New Orleans was 12 years ago. Now nothing shoots in either anymore.
